Made an appointment for a follow-up test for Cushing’s disease for 2:30pm. The day before the appointment they call to reschedule it to 4:30pm, I said are you sure, it’s supposed to be a 2+ hour test? She says yes and rescheduled it. Then calls me back and says sorry—we need you in at 10am actually. So I take an entire day off of work to be here. I show up and they ask if my dog has fasted. Nope. Because no one ever mentioned that in any of the 4 phone calls made to schedule then reschedule this appointment repeatedly. I now lost a day of income, my dog has no diagnosis or medication and am stuck looking for a new vet that is competent. Don’t trust these people as far as you can throw them—they do not know anything about vet care or treating animals.

This review is specifically for the Vet Lillian Michel DVM. The office staff is wonderful and helpful.

Lillian Michel DVM at VCA on Camino Media is one of the rudest, judgmental, and condescending providers I have ever had to deal with. I have seen her multiple times and each visit I have had with her has been terrible. She makes extremely judgmental facial expressions and comments when you speak with her. Her condescending tone & lack of empathy is so apparent. She doesn’t even try to hide her judgement. She didn’t even give us any medical update about our dog whether he was healthy (heart, lungs, weight, etc) or not. She also didn’t give us any actual medical advice with scientific/medical explanation. I had asked her multiple times what are the long term effects of anti anxiety medication. Her only response was “I don’t think dogs should live a daily life drugged up” which is a personal bias of her own, not an objective assessment. She included the comment, “I don’t think people should be on daily drugs either”

She then sends her MA with a print out of information about a medication she is going to prescribe. I asked the MA if the vet is coming back in because I would like to ask her more questions. She opens the room door to speak with me and says “well you wanted something for your dog so there you go”

Wow, truly shocked and upset at the constant judgment & condescending tone of this provider. We don’t always have to agree but she should be able to be respectful, professional, and leave personal biases out of medicine.

Took our 4 year old dog for a routine teeth cleaning and she died under anesthesia. I can't help but feel like they had something to do with it. She was healthy and young and full of life. All I have now are photos a d guilt for taking her here. I feel like they gave her too much or didn't adequately watch her. I'm devastated. I immediately canceled my appointment for my cat.

I took my dog in for a simple exam for coughing and choking issues, and she was returned to me with blood shot red eyes, because she was muzzled without my authorization. I talked to a women named Jennifer. When I asked why she was muzzled without my authorization, I was told they couldn’t waste time to talk to me, and they were busy. I do not understand why they would mussel a small puppy who is already struggling to breath. I should have been called into the room. I asked to talk to a manger and was told that she was gone for the day, and they could not offer me a direct line to the mangers phone line. As well as they couldn’t provide me with a direct email. I was also told if my dog experienced any other issues pertaining to her eyes, then they weren’t liable. I was also not provided an after visit summary, and that I would have to wait 24hrs to receive a summary. I refused to pay their outrageous prices, after seeing how my dog was returned.

Great place to take care of your pet's needs. Have boarding and grooming in addition to vet services. We have our dog Barkley regularly groomed there and the staff always coordinates any upcoming shots and services with the grooming appointment which makes taking care of our dog very convenient and easy. Compassionate care and offered a free exam 18 months ago when we got our dog from the Kern shelter (the local shelters are great run by great people and volunteers - adopt a pet, don't go buy them).

The staff is very friendly. The doctor did a really good job on my dogs ACL surgery and he always seems to know just what's wrong with your pet. Price is higher than I prefer and is higher then other vets I've been to but my dogs are worth it.
