I understand that no long-term care facility can be like having a loved one at home. Thus, it is essential to keep one's expectations in context. My mother was initially in a different long-term care facility in Tulsa, which we had grave concerns about. We quickly transferred her to Cearu where she ultimately resided for 16 months until she passed. My wife and I are both healthcare professionals and are very familiar with what various levels of quality that are available in nursing homes. We were extremely satisfied with her care. Yes, all nursing home staff (at any long-term care facility) are slow to respond due to the demands on their time. However, my mother was well cared for, enjoyed the food, and was kept clean. We were able to be with her when she died and the hospice staff (and regular nurses) were wonderful. Several of them were crying with us when my mother passed. Thank you, Cearu, for making my mother's last 1 1/2 years a better quality of life.

I couldn't have dreamed of a better facility to care for my mother. I have peace of mind knowing the staff is knowledgeable, hard working and most of all caring. The building itself is clean and beautiful. The staff works hard to make the residents feel like they are family, and they are home. Every time I have popped in to visit my mama, she is out engaging in the dining area. She is dressed, nails done and hair beautiful. She has dementia so she doesn't remember many short term things but she is always sure to tell me how good her meals are. My mama seems happy. She has told me she feels spoiled. Thank you so much Cearu, staff! Keep up the great work. A five star review doesn't seem high enough.

I wish there was an option for NO stars… the administration here is a joke. The care and the staff too. They treat you like dirt under your shoe, no respect, lack of communication, just trash!!! I wouldn’t send a dog there to work or be care for!!!! Yes I said a dog. Rediculous.

My father was at Cearu for a little over a month. My mother, my husband, and I were at the facility every day, so we saw how his care was going. He received good care and liked the therapists and nursing staff. They answered his call button quickly and seemed to always have enough staff. Everyone was always willing to answer our questions and seemed to have good attitudes.

Once again, Cearu has come through for us! My mother has dementia, and she gets confused and calls me constantly when she thinks we are going out to dinner. Lynn, a nurse in Household 1 at Cearu, is so patient to comfort my mother on those nights she is confused. I would call Lynn gifted. She is amazing, loves her job, and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her residents. Thank you, Lynn and Cearu!

Shelly is the head nurse at Cearu. The other evening when I picked my mother up for dinner, I received a personal email regarding my mother's VA assistance that required immediate attention. Specifically, I needed to sign a document and have it scanned. Shelly was kind enough to print the document for my signature, scan the document, and email it to me so I could satisfy the VA's request. This was obviously not in her job description and shows that she will go the extra mile to help her residents. I am also impressed at how she keeps up with all the residents' medical needs. Thank you, Shelly, and Cearu!

My mother was briefly at Cearu to rehab from a broken back. In the less than 24 hours she was there, a nurse left her alone sitting on the edge of her bed with her hands occupied. Predictably she fell off the bed and suffered a broken hip, leading to surgery that was so devastatingly deteriorating to her health that she had to be transitioned to hospice. She is not expected to recover. Cearu's report sent to the state did not accurately reflect the details of the incident that were initially relayed to me by the nurse who was caring for her when the accident occurred. That felt dishonest and shady on the part of those in charge. When I expressed distress at the discrepancies in the report, one of the administrators was incredibly condescending. She hold me I was entitled to my "opinion" even though what I was hold were "facts" given to me immediately after the incident by the very person responsible for my mother at the moment she fell. The same administrator also belittled the incident that is directly leading to my mother's untimely death by inferring that this type of tragedy is somehow "routine" at the facility. I certainly hope for the sake of the residents there that that is not the case. Steer clear of this place if you have a vulnerable loved one and value forthcoming and honest interactions with the those supervising the staff caring for them.

I had a family member at Cearu for two weeks. During that time I stayed in the room, so I got to witness everything first hand. The therapy was great, and the medical staff was overall very good as well. It was not a perfect experience, but it was overwhelmingly positive. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would have. I am thankful we ended up there, and it would be my first choice if we needed those services again. We were there for rehab, and we were very pleased with the care provided, and the results they helped us achieve.

We had our mother transferred to Cearu after an accident and we were so glad we did. Every person at Cearu from Executive Director Jennifer Hart down provided my mom with such detailed and dedicated care. Can't say enough good things about Cearu and the staff for the kindness and compassion they showed her during her stay.
