I'll drive by many vet hospitals to get to this place. The staff is very down-to-earth and compassionate, and the prices are fair and reasonable. During the beginning and end of last year, my family and I had to say goodbye to senior cats, and I am beyond satisfied with how the staff helped us navigate those difficult times. My family has now been adopted by a playful, snuggly kitten, and Dr. Stone loved on her the same way he used to love on our beloved senior kitties. My daughter loves coming to the homey, aesthetically pleasing office and she says she wants to become a veterinarian one day.
We are grateful for the care at Bloominggrove and I am glad I can entrust them with our furry friends.

Blooming Grove Animal Hospital has earned a troubling reputation that’s hard to ignore, leaving many pet owners feeling confused and heartbroken by their experiences. It's upsetting to see such a lack of compassion for animals at a place that should be dedicated to their well-being. Numerous reviews and personal stories highlight a worrying pattern of neglect, including a failure to discuss the risks of surgeries with pet owners. Tragically, the frequency of surgical complications leading to the deaths of beloved pets raises serious concerns about the staff’s qualifications and expertise. It’s hard not to wonder why this facility is still operating when so many things seem to go wrong. Pet owners who trust their animals to Blooming Grove are left in grief and confusion, often without proper explanations about what happened to their pets. Instead of being a place of care and comfort, it feels more like an environment of indifference and neglect. When you take your pet in for medical care, you should feel reassurance and trust — unfortunately, many experiences suggest this hospital falls far short of that. It’s truly unfortunate that this place continues to operate without addressing the issues that compromise the safety and well-being of the pets in their care. I’m not here to bash any buisness but it truly concerning !!

The level of absurdity I’m about to share is beyond belief. Mindy, Dr. Stone’s wife or ex-wife who is the "office manager", is certifiable. I read a review where someone called her “strangely aggressive,” and that description is spot on. She actively creates conflict with the people who keep her business running. Last week, I received an email invoice for over $200, dated January 2013, with no explanation. Assuming it was a mistake, I called the office expecting immediate resolution. The person answered said that they were sending these invoices to “a lot of people,” and while she understood completely, she needed to consult Mindy. I requested an email confirming resolution, as I’d never owed them money. I am very on top of my finances, had never been contacted about this and was certain this was erroneous. A week passed with no follow-up, so I called again. My call was screened 5x in a row. I finally reached Mindy. When I asked if my message had been passed on, she said deflected saying “a lot has happened in the last week.” I can only imagine how many other angry clients were calling about being billed decades later. When I reminded Mindy that I had never had an outstanding balance and that they’d never contacted me in 12 years, she said, “Well, it’s just me… there’s no accounting department.” So, 12 years later, you're sending bills? It didn’t add up. When I asked about the charges, the previous person I spoke to said it was for labs in Dec 2013, but Mindy said it was for an ultrasound in Jan 2014, admitted that the alleged service date wasn’t even correct. A glaring sign of their poor record keeping, confirming the accounting error. The whole situation is illogical...trying to collect a debt for something they’d never mentioned in 12 years and couldn’t even provide consistent information about it. When I pointed out that what they were doing was illegal under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the NY Consumer Credit Fairness Act (which limits debt collection attempts to 3 yrs in NY), Mindy couldn't care less and got nasty. The Attorney General’s office advised me to file a complaint, which I am doing. Instead of acknowledging the obvious issue, Mindy began insulting and attacking me, including accusing me of “sounding like someone who doesn’t want to pay their bills.”, etc. I expressed shock at her unprofessionalism and ended the call. I had been a loyal customer for years spending tens of thousands of dollars at their practice on routine visits, surgeries, boarding, grooming, and daycare. I supported their gala fundraising and participated in rescue fundraising events with my vet. Does that sound like someone who doesn’t pay their bills? She resorted to insults because she had no reasonable explanation. One more thing: it broke my heart to read reviews mentioning neglectful care leading to people losing their pets. I had a similar experience when one of my cats suddenly became ill. I rushed her in, but my regular vet wasn’t there, so I saw Dr. Stone. He told me my 4-year-old cat had lymphoma and said she had to be put down. I was in shock and asked how he could be so sure without tests/imaging. I refused and made an appointment with my regular vet for the next day who said there was no way she had cancer. Had I followed Dr. Stone’s advice, my cat would have been killed, but instead, she’s happy/healthy 15 yr old today! Mindy’s reputation in the community is well-known and numerous reviews describe her as hostile and aggressive, with reports of the hospital's dishonesty, lack of care resulting in pets’ deaths, unnecessary charges and dishonest billing. The pattern is clear. Unless you want to risk being slapped with a surprise bill a decade from now, deal with a confrontational, unstable "office manager" who won’t take responsibility, or put your pet’s life at risk, I strongly recommend you avoid this practice. Their negative reviews have piled up over the years, and it seems like this scam is a desperate attempt to keep a business drowning in karma afloat.

I'm sorely disappointed with this place now! My dog was a patient for a few years until recently!I took my 7 year old female dog in for care to see why she seemed like she was overweight all of a sudden. The vet talked me into paying $250 and left with no answers besides get her spayed ASAP! I'm glad my family and I decided to wait because my dog had 9 beautiful puppies in her stomach! She gave birth comfortably and safely at home due to our care! Shame on this place to take my money and make such a big deal about my dog not being spayed.I definitely won't be back!

My daughter has a ten year old German Shepherd who is prone to skin infections. He is also rather dramatic getting his nails trimmed 😅 Dr Green and Dr Stone and the techs have been absolutely wonderful. Nova loves them as well. It is such a huge relief to know Nova is in such good hands. I highly recommend Bloomingrove.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and compassion here. There was no empathy, no clear communication, and an overall dismissive attitude during an incredibly difficult time. When entrusting a veterinary hospital with a pet’s life, you expect care, respect, and transparency—none of which we received. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values their pet’s well-being.

I had started going to Bloomingrove during the pandemic with my little man Morpheus. Over time we started seeing Dr. K (Kareklas) and I loved her demeanor with him and her concern and curiosity for his wellbeing. I never felt she pushed unnecessary procedure, and I always felt that she had his best interest at heart.
This is an emotionally challenging job they have, and compassion burnout is real— I experienced plenty trying to get a second opinion in case I could save my cat from cancer. But Dr. K was so gentle with him and us in our grief. I highly recommend Dr. K— she is clearly a lover of animals and an excellent veterinarian, and I am eternally grateful for all she has done for my family.

This is the best and most kind and professional group that I have ever brought my animals to. My dogs, cats and birds have been patients for years and have benefited greatly by the knowledgeable doctors and support staff. Highly recommend!
