The program has been successful. But the staff is really what makes the place great. Jordan Duncan is so nice, accommodating, and helpful. Amber Treadway has been the best counselor. I love been able to message her whenever I have a question, and she responds quickly.

This place is something else, and not in a good way. GF has been going there for over 5 years now, and honestly was doing the best I have ever seen. We have been together for several years, but have know each other since High School, so I have witnessed her at her worst. At first, the place was a godsend for her. Then the never ending counselor swaps started. Then, she had a false positive from sinus meds(was able to prove it when they sent it back to the lab), but they still dropped her level and it took months to get it back. She finally leveled back up, and she started excelling in her new job and just in general. There has been alot of drama going on with family that she has been having to deal with, but all in all was handling it ok. Then she absent mindedly missed an appointment. Suddenly they are dropping her levels and not returning messages to help her fix this situation. What little feedback she does get tells her "they" are making decisions over the counselors head, but no one will say who "they" are, and she isn't allowed to talk to "them". It has really taken the wind out of her sails and depression is creeping back in. She has started missing work. I am afraid for her safety and mental health, and it kills me to see what this is doing to her. For a place that is supposed to help, it is really quit the opposite and what used to be a good thing has changed to what seems to be just a insurance scam. They should reward people who are making efforts to do well, not make things harder.

I immediately knew that I was going to love working for the Roanoke Comprehensive Treatment Center. From the interview process through the onboarding and training, I felt that I belonged and was a valued member of the team.
As a graduate student earning my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to learn and grow as a counselor, specifically substance abuse counseling. Substance abuse counseling feels like a “calling” for several personal reasons, and I am fortunate to have found a team, from the clinical staff, counseling staff, leadership, and those who ensure that we are working in a clean and healthy environment.
My patients are my top priority and being able to help provide a safe space to for the patients to share their stories, current issues, and to build their trust is invaluable to me as their counselor.
Parts of my personal goals in counseling my patients at the RCTC are to promote a sense of hope, self-value, teach coping skills, and to assist patients on their personal journey to recovery. The transformations and growth that I have witnessed from my patients has been a life changing experience for me and without the support, encouragement, and value that I receive from my RCTC team, I couldn’t feel prouder to work here.

I have been a patient at RCTC now for 14 yrs. I have been cleaned for 14 yrs. I recently overdosed by mistake on my amitriptyline (it’s a sleeping pill for restless leg syndrome) and yes it was a mistake. I’ve been on that for 28yrs as well as klonopin for 28yrs. The amitriptyline looks identical to ibuprofen. Please google the 2 and see for yourself. I was distracted by my dog and had to to stop. When I came back I mixed the two. I suffer with migraines and take 4 ibuprofen twice daily. I mixed the two meds and accidentally took 16 amitriptyline in two days. It really should have caused me to stop breathing and die. I went to my PCP and instead of helping me he took 75 % off of my meds. Again, I could have died because he took way too much from me. I was miserable in withdrawal and no one would help me.
The RCTC stepped up and helped me through adjusting to this reality. I mean no one help me but RCTC. They adjusted my meds there and had extra counseling. I felt everyone there were trying to help me.
Our Clinical Supervisor Christopher M.D’AMICO and his counselors (to many to name) went to work. I got thru it with the support of RCTC. They saved my life. Let them save yours!!!

This place probably saved my life, if I hadn't gone I'd either be in prison or dead because I was full speed kamikaze by that point.
I was a heroin addict for 13 years before joining. I had given up getting clean and had resigned myself to a having a few short awful years followed by dying in some flophouse somewhere
But the Treatment Center helped me live again. The place isn't perfect, but no place is. If you're an addict it help you but you have to want the help and put in work along the way.

Love this Clinic so much. The staff make you feel welcomed and I would recommend this place to anybody struggling with addiction❤️they help with doctors, jobs, food, clothes, mental heath, and any other things you may need help obtaining.
