My family would like to thank all the fine folks at Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation for the care they gave my husband during his stay there as he navigated a particularly quick and cruel decline from dementia. It wasn't always easy but everyone tried their best. The nurses, CNAs, aides, physical therapists, dining room personnel and doctors were all great and very caring. We especially want to thank Mo, O and Rosa for going the extra mile with Gary and taking special interest in him. We appreciate you all.

My father was treated very badly here! One nurse had him so scared he wouldn’t even ring the bell for help because he was yelled at for pushing the button. There were several nurses and he kept telling us different things about them. He was scared in this facility because of the way he was treated. The day we went to get him out of there they got him up at 8 am and made him sit in a wheelchair for 4 hours! They knew we were coming at 12 to pick him up! They stripped the bed and when we got there he was slumped over in the wheelchair almost ready to fall out of it. He sat in that wheelchair for 4 hours! That is very UNACCEPTABLE!! If you want your loved one to be mistreated this is the place! One of our aunts was also put there and was moved because she had bruises all over her and they knew she was on oxygen full time and put it across the room from here where she couldn’t get the oxygen! I’m telling you we will not stop until this place is shut down. The next step is the news!!

Very nice facility. However, if your loved one does not have a personal phone, and you live 900 miles away, it is very disheartening to try to reach them. In fact, impossible!

I was not happy with this place at all! If you’re family member is mobile it would be ok but if not do not place them here!! Different nurses all the time, food wasn’t good( served pork something almost every meal, my father would call for help and sometimes they would come in 30 min and sometimes not at all!!! They would be really rough with him when changing him and my aunt who was there had bruises where someone was rolling her over with his knuckles instead of his hands!! They act all nice when you’re there but things are much different when you’re not!! One nurse had my father scared to push his button for help!!! I don’t understand how this place is still open as I had one nurse tell me that 9 people had fallen in one weekend! I would hear the nurses yelling at each other and nurses yelling at the patients!! My father passed away but fortunately I was able to get him out of this place 3 weeks before he did! So please, please please don’t put your loved one here unless you can stay round the clock with them!!!!! No need for anyone to reach out to me from this facility because I know what I seen and heard and some of these people should be ashamed at how they treat the patients!!!

The team at Albemarle Health and Rehab is second to none!! Their facility is bright, clean, and state of the art! I have known and worked closely with Janis Hatcher for a few years, and no one is as dedicated to the elderly community as she is!!

They only get one star because of my love and respect for the residents I grew so close with during the year I was working here. This place is filled with upper management that don't care about anything but the money that fills their wallets . From HR , to the DON Bruce , to scheduling . I was terminated from here because of them not accepting me getting there after I drop my kids off & for he say/she say bs. No investigation no nothing . I put this job before my health , my children , my personal life I picked up when I could and gave them everything I had to give. Their was nothing I wouldn't do for my residents .nothing is fair here. From the lack of food , to them bowing down and giving excellent service to the few residents who either A have a lot of money or B have connections outside of this place that would be able to bring the building down .. they have nurses getting drunk and passing out medicine (which never gets looked into because of their ethnicity) they are KILLING people here , their are residents who are begging to be taken to a hospital because of feeling really ill or being in a lot of pain and they get told NO. The comments speak for itself . I had conjunctivitis a few months ago and scheduler was okay with me working as long as I wore a mask . Also when these residents and staff have symptoms of COVID they will refuse to give tests out they tell the residents that their doctors have to approve for them to be tested .I caught COVID from being around the residents that had it and received nasty looks when I was concerned of having it and not wanting to take it home to my 4 year old and 7 year old . This place is understaffed, non caring and underpaying. They are okay with being understaffed and not having enough to give proper care to these patients for some end of year bonus . The man who owns it is amazing and a sweetheart I'm sure if he really knew what was going on a lot more could get handled but they avoid taking certain matters further up . Please let this be the last place you place your loved one in and if you do place them here make sure to always be in the building with them so that they will all do their job and actually give them the care they deserve . That's why they don't like when they see family there because they can't get away with certain behavior .

Nurses here are very nice and caring.
Main concern is the horrible food served . My husband complained and I too have seen cold food. And very small amount. Hard and dry food. Alot of the food is wet. Like the waffles. They are steamed instead of baked or toasted. The menu slip looks good on paper but they never get everything on the slip. My husband and I have ask staff to help him get a shower. After a week, he finally got a shower. Housekeeping could do better too, especially during the week. Husband has talked to adminstrator.
No improvements to date. This is a beautiful facility . It's sad the morale is low. Residents here look forward to good hot meals and more of it. Not just enough to feed a toddler. They should have two choice meals.
Even the staff have said the food is not good.
Some staff don't follow drs' orders completely.
