My Experience I went here twice once in 2013 & Another time in 2014 I only stated a week both times... I became home sick very quickly both times & back then Another thing that played a factor I didn't have money on me that would last whole time I was up there & back then cashapp & Venmo wasn't even thought of back then so your love ones / Family member could send money to you....other than that both times was fine I had fun & stayed in contact with a few Individuals till this day... I would recommend this to any young adult trying to succeed in life... & if I could do it again that young age of 18 & 19 I would definitely would again lol

My experience at WWRC was nothing short of appalling in all of the worst ways I could imagine. I was referred here by a former counselor who said it was a great, low-stress place for people with disabilities to learn how to work. I have been there 3 times now. The rooms have this strange almost ammonia-like smell to them. Not all bathroom and shower doors lock, so you could just be completely unlucky while the guy next to you has luxury. Roommate noise is not an uncommon issue due to the paper-thin walls. There are mice, which I can tolerate but the staff says that traps are not always available. Some of the staff are chill, but others are extremely hostile. The senior man in charge of the Materials Handling Training was of particular note. I was the victim and witness to several counts of psychological and verbal abuse working in that department. Don't expect most staff or campus police to take your concerns seriously, either. During one of my stays, my roommate was threatened over text with serious physical violence. The officer (they have their own PD on-site) who spoke with me was dismissive, belligerent, and due to my age (19 at the time) he said my concern was not to be taken seriously because I quote "probably misinterpreted the situation" despite having proof of what was said. They treated it as more of a roommate issue than one of a threat. I felt extremely unsafe and was approached several times after the incident by the person who threatened my roommate. I understand that perhaps I was unlucky or that there were a few bad apples in the fray that ruined it, but the amount of times I felt disrespected and was treated like garbage by staff, counselors, and instructors alike, is saddening on a level that I'm sure goes far beyond my depths. The only saving grace I can give to this god-forsaken facility is the therapy department. Dr. Michael Bell is an excellent on-site mental health professional. He was patient, observant, and fully-sided with me when leaving WWRC due to only some of the problems mentioned above. If you do for some ungodly reason still want to go here, make use of the counselling. Also don't eat at the Salad bar, the staff admitted to me and several other recruits that many people have gotten food poisoning from it in the past.

I was at Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center for PREP (AKA Life Skills) in the summer 2016 and one year for their computer repair class. Paige Allison, My rehab counselor was helpful during a family emergency. The staff were nice. Campus was quaint, and the cottages were a good way to work on my independent living skills. The dorms resembled a garden style apartment complex and the dorm staff were nice. Dr. Childress and Dr. Easterbrook were nice psychologists.

I went to this place back in late September of 2019 and stayed here until early October of the same year. While I was here, I learned how to do a job properly and how I can get a job while having to deal with autism. The staff here were great and the whole place felt like a college (Even though it's not).

Definitely recommend this place.

They don’t really help you there, if u do go there hope u don’t have bad anxiety cause it’ll give you that, they going to make it seem like it’s the best place ever… it was only fun if u have friends, if u don’t your going to be lonely.

I went to Woodrow Willson during 2012-13
And I can say for a fact, that this place will only waste your time and gaslight you into feeling guilty for being there.
I have a condition that causes me to pass out. The staff knew this when they enrolled me into their independent living program; and yet they denied my admission to full job training in the last week of my independent living program.
All the friends I had made while I was there never got to see me again. And all the “independent living skills” are all just basic common sense as a human being.
The only thing I “learned” while I was there, is that the staff and police are not there to help you, they will gaslight you and tell you , you’ll be kicked out if you act out of line. They do not care what anyones side of the story, they would just rather not deal with adults acting like high schoolers.
I also noticed some reviews missing or being deleted, so I’ll just see if this even gets put up.
Do not waste your time if you are a parent looking to help your child further their life with their disability, they swept me under the rug and didn’t think twice about it.

Could have worked on maintaining the wifi more often in both the dorms and the training building in all floors

I am a student at WWRC and I went there for the 5 day PERT evaluation program on Halloween, 2022. It was kinda nice being on campus for my first time. Campus is alright but some staffs that I’ve met during the 5 day PERT program are nice, sweet, and caring!!
