The owner and her staff are AMAZING! Very knowledgeable with all the animals and products. The amount of support and love they put into the rescue is so heart warming. I helped foster Cooper until he found the perfect home. The owner was always checking in about Cooper and made sure I needed everything for him. She’s not only a great business owner but now she is an amazing friend ❤️

We started going here for our dog food to help support a local business. I always stopped to look at the dogs they have for adoption and got to know a lot of the people that work in the store. They would always joke with me about grabbing a dog to go while I was checking out. One Saturday my husband and I stopped in after breakfast to look at the dogs, and well, my husband fell in love with one and we brought her home to be with our 3 other dogs. Everyone at the store always asks about the dogs when I'm in and even try to get me to take more home. I would take them all if I could and they know that! They are all so caring and selfless in what they do. Rescue is a lifestyle, not a job. I have been there when transports have come in and I have been in tears looking at some of them come in. Angela and her team get them the medical help they need, get them clean, groomed and fed and always let them know they are loved! They truly care about the animals and their well being. Angela is not just the business owner to me, she is now also one of my best friends!

I “adopted” a female dog from here a few months ago. Due to some unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances, I needed to bring her back. I contacted the pet store letting them know this and was told that there wasn’t room for her and that I needed to keep until they could find a foster family for her. I was in a situation where that wasn’t feasible for me. Due to this, I asked if I could surrender her to another shelter and was told “no” by the owner. They offered to give me food to feed her due to my situation in the meantime but that wasn’t the issue. I ended up having to wait an ENTIRE WEEK before they would take her back.

While I was at the pet store surrendering her, I was SHAMED by the owner for needing to surrender her. They said that it isn't fair to this dog because she was decompressing and was getting used to living with me. Maybe they shouldn’t have made me wait an ENTIRE WEEK to bring her back.

They don’t have a plan in place to properly handle situations like this. Instead, they fill their store to capacity with these dogs to make a profit. They even required me to pay $100 in order to be able to surrender her to cover a “wellness exam”. The dog had cost $800 to begin with. What happened to the $800 DOLLARS I paid? Why couldn’t they use that to cover her “wellness exam”?

Real animal shelters don’t charge you money to bring an animal back. This place is nothing more than a pet store pretending to be an “animal shelter”. This place is absolutely disgusting and honestly should be shut down.

I adopted my St. Bernard "Binx" from them and I have to say he is absolutely an amazing dog! I had a good experience with every step of the adoption. The price was on the higher side but considering it is going towards the cost of his neuter then it is well worth it. They also did all his shots and dewormings. A dog of his size alone would be at least 800 to 1000 so it was pretty reasonable if you really think about it. I'm very happy to have Binx and he was the perfect choice for us. Wholesome pets is run by a lady who really love animals, she loves them so much they are all well socialized, loving, admirable pets. I’m so thankful for the 2 cats and 1 lizard I got from here because they are the most cuddly, loving, creatures I could have ever wanted. Yes…even the lizard likes snuggles…how did you do that Angela?
