If I could give a zero, I would. DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT HERE. I had NO idea how awful this place is until my mother ended up there. The website is all stock photos, so do not trust it. The facility is dingy, smells, and very unsanitary. The food is terrible! Cold and reheated from god knows when. The linens on the bed were stained. The fresh pillow cases I asked for had blood stains on them. My mother was left on the toilet for over 1/2 hour asking for help. She was left slumped in her bed for hours with no help. The ‘nurses’ were all huddled in their station on their cell phones…acted ‘put out’ when I asked for basic needs. The ‘Sharps’ container in mom’s room was FULL of needles and vials from the last patient. The ‘gloves’ they used were FOOD HANDLER gloves! Not medical gloves. The room stunk of dried urine in the carpet. The air conditioner did not work, as the knobs were rusted and broken. To top it all off? My mom got COVID while she was there, which passed to 3 family members, including my 89 year old mother in law. Luckily after 3 days in this horrific place, I was able to move her. ( I’m sure they remember me, because I was getting her released THAT DAY regardless of the ‘48 turn around on paper work’.) IF your loved one ends up here, you need to be there at LEAST 3 times a day to make sure they’re being taken care of. The ‘residents’ I saw in the halls were concerning. Fall risks trying to get out of wheel chairs and NO ONE attended to them. This place should be shut down. I have NO CLUE how they pass ANY inspections. Be an advocate for your person. No one else there will. It’s horrific! DO NOT USE THIS ‘HEALTH AND REHAB’.

Activities, physical therapy and occupational therapy are great. Some nurses are good, but many cna's and nurses resent having to care for my brother, and have a bad attitude when I ask them to help him. There are a few new nurses and cna's that are good, but the bad ones ruin everything. He rarely gets food he will eat although we have been telling everybody about his dietary needs for two years. In two years he has had less than a dozen showers. No wonder it took two years for his incision to heal.

I should have posted this review a long time ago. Things might not be the same now, but still, you should be aware.

I had a family member stay here in 2021 during COVID time. My family member at that time was having cognitive issues. It was noticeable and documented in their medical records. While my family member was staying here, the facility transported him to a doctor's appointment that we were unaware of. The facility dropped him off and left him alone in this appointment. The doctor's office called my husband and I due to my relatives' memory. My family member did not know why they were there, and they thought they were abandoned in another city. We had to call the facility to figure out why my relative was left alone at this appointment and why we were not notified. We informed them of the call we received from the doctor's office.

Also, during this time, my family member was given a COVID shot. At the beginning of COVID, our family had long conversations about this controversial subject. My family member was dead set against the shot. When my husband and I found out about this news, we approached the nursing staff on duty. We asked when, why, and how. They did acknowledge that they did realize he was not in the right frame of my mind to give his consent to get the shot, but they still had him sign the form and gave him the shot.

My family member left this facility due to a medical issue. Thankfulky he left, but I will say, unfortunately, this was one of the better facilities we were at during this time.

I suggest when looking at a facilty for a family memeber. Look at the CMS rating of the facility you are looking into.

I am still here. This is the worst place I have ever been in. I am a stroke recovery patient and should be out of here in 1 week. Dinner tonight was 2 pieces of bread and 8 sliced beets. I have been left on the toilet twice because I am paralyzed on my left side. They have forgotten my medication and I have waited for over 2 hours with my call bell on. I am writing this for the people in here that don’t know how or if you are thinking of putting a loved one in this place. Do Not

Changing a patient and her roommate complains threatened to turn off the lights while giving her care. Resident went to get supervisor pertaining her issue with the light being on while providing care. Supervisor from another hall walks in room doesn’t knock just turns light off in the midst of me providing incontinent care. Peeks around the curtain and says I need to talk to you. Upon talking to this particular supervisor whom I didn’t know; His first words to me were “You do not want to piss her off”. There is a lot to unpack in this situation.

My aunt was admitted to Virginia Beach Healthcare on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The staff have been kind and welcoming. She was greeted by the Assistant Administrator and the Director of Nursing on her first day. Her therapy got started right away too. Her nurse Betty and her CNA Ilylis were amazing. They worked together to make sure she felt well taken care of and comfortable. Her physical and occupational therapy are off to a great start despite it being a holiday. The kindness and caring of the entire staff have made such a difference to her and our family.

The staff in this facility truly care about their patients. They are warm and welcoming to all that come in and always willing to assistant. Therapy and the activity department keep the patients going for a not so boring day. The nursing and administration are kind.

If you have family here please go and withdraw them from the facility, this place is dirty, mold & maggots are falling from the ceiling on unit 4, and the patients lack briefs or hygiene products, unit 2 on 3-11 you cannot find any CNAs, I have reported walking in seeing my mother hanging out the bed, end table sticky, and my mother is always drenched in urine and poop. The hallways & bathrooms are disgusting, the patients barely get food on their tray. There was a nurse named Amber who killed a patient on unit 3 and the Administrator Adam promoted her to ADON before firing her, I overheard Friday that the unit 2 unit manager Suzanne was stealing narcotics, she fails to get on the cart, and at times in at 9 am when there's no nurse, my mother waits for her meds, even though I have walked in and seen her doing nothing. They have nurses who think they know it all, I tried telling the 7-3 nurse Jasmine on unit 2 that my mother didn't look well and wasn't behaving normally and she told me that if I'm so worried why don't I take her home? I think there isn't any structure in this building, no one does anything about the reports being made, and I'm sick of it. Also, there is an aide named, Pitts, who is rough with patients, I caught her smoking marijuana in her car before going into the building, she even smelled of marijuana when I walked past her she doesn't change the patients, my mother complained to me about how she talks, and again she was reported to the nurse and nothing happened. They have a huge staffing issue, HR Edie that hangs up on you, overall, I have called the state, I just feel the building is a red flag, and should be condemned. Call The police !!!!!! As I left tonight, I told myself I wouldn't sleep until the public knew about this building.
