My experience at the store has always been fabulous. I love their unique gifts. Usually when I go in, I spend several hundred dollars at a time. I’ve bought lots of Christmas gifts for my friends there and holiday gifts there for my friends that have dogs
But I bought some sweaters there on a couple different occasions. I’ve bought sweaters there, and I struggled with the sizing, especially with the different brands and especially when I know that my dogs are in between sizes, especially for my friends has a great Dane.
And I was told as long as I return the item with the tag still attached and the receipt I could return It
Never once in all the time that I’ve purchased items from their especially the sweaters, especially when I struggle with sizes, especially when they told me four and five times each visit. I was in there, struggling with the sweaters and when I checked out never once did they tell me within 10 days The only thing that was ever said to me was as long as you had your receipt and the tag was still attached so when I came in, I realize it was out of season. I was told oh it’s out of season. I said well if I come back in the season, could I return them then so in the fall the winter I was literally told and they pointed to a sign on the wall saying oh you have to return it within 10 days. It’s also on your receipt. OK I get that that’s fair but the thing is is never once even being told four and five times at the time of my purchase never once was I told within 10 days And three days after I bought my last three pack of sweaters there my dog died so I wasn’t really up to going in there and dealing with it, but I was willing to hang onto them for another four months and then go back in there if they at least offer to store credit I get that it’s not their policy but I was never told within 10 days. I will never shop here again and that’s sad because their store is beautiful. It’s unique and I like it but because of that I will never shop there again.

I get my dog food here at the best prices for the better quality brands. Great selection of dog treats. Only place I could find the moo moo cow ears in blueberry and strawberry.

We are from out of the area and found Village Pet when passing thru Bakersfield. We had just rescued a dog in Los Angeles..the staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and warm, giving advice on food and treats. Than, a total stranger to us, but a Village Pet local customer...as a complete surprise, gifted us our purchase. He left the store before we realized he had offered such a sweet gift. There are still wonderful people in the world. So happy we decided to go to Village Pet. Thank you again.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. So happy they carry the dog food I was buying for a friend, no other store carried the specific brand/flavor/dietary specifications. Loved the t-shirts they were selling, too. Nice variety of items to look at and buy.
