On December 1, 2024, I received a heartfelt sympathy card with handwritten messages from every staff member at VCA Winchester Animal Hospital. Our dog, Snow, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at the age of 14 years and 3 months, making her journey to God’s home. Throughout her 14 years of life, the team at VCA Winchester Animal Hospital, from the doctors to the assistants and staff, treated Snow with the utmost care and dedication.

During her regular check-ups, we were always warmly greeted with her name written on the blackboard, a thoughtful touch that made us feel respected. On several occasions when Snow experienced minor injuries or illnesses, she received prompt and compassionate care. Even during her stays at the dog boarding facility in earlier years, despite her reserved personality and occasional bouts of grumpiness, Snow was never neglected or treated unfairly.

When the time came for Snow to receive euthanasia, the kind and gentle veterinarian patiently answered all our questions, shedding tears of empathy alongside us. Snow departed peacefully as we bid her farewell to a place free from pain.

We are deeply grateful to VCA Winchester Animal Hospital for the immense love and care they provided to our beloved Snow. The sympathy card you thoughtfully chose conveys our feelings perfectly: “The journey has ended, but the memories will last forever.” Rest in peace, our precious Snow. Thank you, VCA Winchester Animal Hospital!

Very kind staff that treated me and my dog with the utmost respect and reassurance. They help my dog, Bingo, feel less anxious by greeting her before taking her back for a shot. Staff was flexible to discuss different payment plans and options. Very good about reminding for upcoming visits

The vets are super friendly, knowledgeable, and give you multiple options for treatment when possible. Only downside is they are pricey! We’ve always been able to get an appointment close to when we need it.

I can't say enough good things about this place! Very professional and courteous and kind, thoughtful humans work here!! I wouldn't think of taking my little Bella anyplace else!! She is my little Yorkie and yes she is a spoiled little hot mess but she's my family and I can only make sure she gets the very best care among other things!! VCA Winchester is definitely our hometown spot!!-Kevin.

Due to CZU fires we were evacuated from our home in Boulder Creek. The staff without hesitation boarded our dogs. We cannot thank them and especially Dr. Noah Salzman enough for all the kindness and generosity. We were panicked and full of uncertainty. The relief they gave to us can hardly be expressed in words!
With gratitude in our hearts,
David and Dana Favorito

This is the worst experience I ever had. They examined my cat for 10 minutes and charged 128 dollars. Also, I suggest to stay away from this hospital as much as possible. I called them for an appointment since my cat sneezed, later I canceled the appointment as my cat turned out to be fine. A month later they shared this cancelled appointment with my insurance company, whic leads to a rejection of a 800 dollar claim. I would never ever have anything to do with this hospital. This also happened to my friend, who chatted with them online for soft stool, later her insurance company rejected her claim for diarrhea. I don't even know if they have rights to share this with the insurance company since these are not even formal visits.

Medication and customer service nightmare.
I went to VCA Winchester based on the good reviews and for how close it was to home. I brought my cat in for further evaluation to a diagnosis he received. I was prescribed medication for my cat and was informed it was a home delivery from a third party called Vetsource. The medication was cancelled from the prescribing pharmacy Wedgewood due to the quantity of medication exceeding the expiration date. I called and messaged on the app. The receptionist let me know they corrected it. I eventually got a second notification of cancelation and informed the vet via the app again and by phone, I did not hear back after that until I got a third notification of cancelation. I called Vetsource and they stated the first two times were cancelation by pharmacy and the last time was a payment issue. I corrected the issue. Keep in mind it has now been a month from the visit and the initial prescribing date. An exact month later my cat passed away due to not having the medication needed to drain the fluid buildup he had. I let the Vet know and Leslie Haddad the "manager" contacted me and said she would look into it and promised to call back on Monday, she failed to keep her word and I had to reach out today and she called me back. Initially friendly and sorry for my loss, she went on to blame me for the issues even though Wedgewood confirmed this was an error on the hospitals part. Leslie became defensive due to a review a family member had left, speaking to me in a condescending and belittling tone. Eventually saying she takes half the responsibility for the medication errors and admitted to me via freudian slip that there was a pill form of the needed medication available at the office the entire time. but somehow blamed me for not informing them I still did not have the medication even though I had reached out multiple times. Leslie apologized and took accountability for not offering the pill form of the medication and then backtracked stating that "it could have been his heart that caused him to die since his prognosis was not good" Could of, a powerful attempt at avoiding all responsibility. Shame on this hospital and staff for being grossly negligent, shame on you Leslie for being a "manager" but lacking empathy, real accountability and the ability to provide good customer service. I know this hospital will leave a generic response and try to contact me to "make it better" but after today we are past that. Establishments like this get away with things like this because they are never held accountable past a review. Do not bring your animal to this vet, they lack communication and accountability and give off classist vibes.
