I brought my dog in about a week ago and we ended up having to put her to sleep. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. That being said, the staff there was extremely compassionate and helpful through the process. They made sure she wasn’t in any pain and gave me the time I needed to say goodbye to my best friend. I genuinely want to thank everyone there for the care they provided for my pup. The level of care is unmatched and they made such an unbearable thing to go through almost bearable.

A few factors made this a 2 start review . This past week we had to rush our sweet fur baby to the emergency vet when he became unresponsive. We were immediately greeted and he was taken to the back to be stabilized. Shortly after a women came into the waiting room and asked us to come into an exam room . She began providing us with info but kept calling our cat a girl. We then realized she was not talking about or cat but the other person who was already in a rooms pet. She continued to tell us that she was so tired and she was having a rough night ( zero consideration for how our night was going ) . The doctor was kind and explained everything. Unfortunately there was not much that could have been done for our sweet boy that would have guaranteed a good outcome and we had to make the hard decision to put our boy down . Again the doctor was wonderful and compassionate . The next day we called as I wanted an ink paw print - I was quickly told by Louise over the phone your pet is already frozen and there is nothing they could do . It was not so much what she said but how she said it . No compassion whatsoever . She did call back and tell me I could call the cremation place directly as the would be picking him up on Monday . I called the cremation place the next day to request this and was told that my boy was already there and cremated so they could not fulfill my request. I was given incorrect information. The overall experience was not the greatest and I think the staff ( some of them ) need some sensitivity training. Our pets are our family and she be treated as such and we should be treated with compassion and empathy.

We had to make an emergency visit here for our 14 year old dog, for the first time, at nearly 1am in the morning last week. Our dog had some previous tumors removed, the last one 5 months ago, and had been doing well. Last week, 11/8/24 in the afternoon he started vomiting water and had some bloody stool, then progressively became lethargic and unable to move at all by the evening. So I knew it must be time to put him down. We had been preparing (mentally) from his previous surgery as best we could but it's always a super tough thing to go through. The staff here were amazing, taking him in quickly, carefully and evaluating him. We all agreed it was time. They brought us right in for the euthanasia and they worked quickly. As others have mentioned they gave us time in a separate room to be with him and say goodbye afterwards.
So I just wanted to write this review to say thank you to all the staff who were working that evening, you did a great job and made a very difficult decision and situation as good as it could possibly be. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

Yesterday evening our 7-month old puppy wedged a butcher's block bone onto her bottom jaw so tightly that we could not get it off. Naturally, we panicked. From our first call to our arrival and throughout the duration of our visit, everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. They reassured us that this happens more often than we'd think, which made us feel a little bit better. The staff kept us regularly updated and had the bone off of our puppy's jaw and had her discharged within an hour. We are forever grateful for VCA Shoreline's assistance, efficiency and kindness. Thank you for everything!

Not our first visi, and some in the past years had been expensive or long, but this time the service was timely, the doctor and staff were great, and the cost was reasonable for the care. I feared we would be leaving with a much larger bill and much later at night, but they had us heading home within a few hours, most of which was them monitoring our pup (by our request) before leaving since he started having seizures earlier that day. Thanks to the staff, and I would recommend based on this experience

We unfortunately had to put our 12 year old mastiff to sleep this past weekend. We went to the Shelton VCA for the first time and they were wonderful during this hard time. They were compassionate and caring. We got to spend as much time as we needed saying goodbye and the techs and vet were so caring. The room was set up to be able to sit with our dog and say goodbye in a comfortable and quiet way. We appreciate everything you do. Thank you

My puppy wasnt doing well yesterday she was 16 years old and was having trouble moving and breathing so I brought her to VCA. They examined her and it was determined she had a mass in side her that must have ruptured. Her vitals were bad so I had to make that awful decision to put her down so she's wouldn't suffer anymore. That mass must have grown within the past week or so because yesterday and Sunday she just wasn't right. The staff and Veterinarian were terrific and comforting and gave me plenty of time with her before they put her down thank you all for your compassion and understanding
