They left my dog's IV in today.
After being referred here by another vet for my dog's seizures, we left with no answers and no treatment plan other than to go somewhere else. We also asked for medication for my dog's ear infection, which the Dr. forgot about.
This is not what I have a problem with. What I am furious about is that they left the IV in my dog's arm, not once mentioning it was still in there. Her arm wasn't shaved, so the tape ripped out her fur no matter how carefully we took it off. This is a very disgusting treatment of an animal you are supposed to care for.
Leaving an IV inside of a patient is dangerous and lazy. You can't even say it was out of convenience for a future veterinarian to use, as they don't. You wouldn't send a human home with their IV still in. Why is it okay to do to a dog?

Deer Creek did an amazing job on our Foster Great Dane’s laparoscopic neuter and gastropexy. They care so much about the animals, and working with the rescues to ensure giving all of the second chance animals the best shot at a great new life. Our foster dog hasn’t tried to touch any of the surgery sites yet in 3 days, Dr. Markee Kuschel did such a clean job. Thank you so much for all you do! ❤️

Started coming to this vet because of their dentist. My dog needed to have a deep dental cleaning and because of his age and heart condition I wanted to make sure he got the best care by board certified veterinarians. Dr. Ken and Dr. Grimm did a wonderful job getting his dental health on track so that he would have many more years to spend with us. I am eternally grateful to the entire team at Deer Creek Hospital that was involved in taking care of my baby and returning him safely to me.

Total waste of time and money, missed advanced cancer in my pet. Took my elderly cat in for blood in her stool and acting like she felt bad. Vet gave her a cursory exam, checked her blood and urine for infection and kidney, didn’t bother checking the stool sample they told us to bring, found nothing and sent us home with expensive cat foot and probiotics. ($450 visit) Took a week to call me back about blood and urine test results. 3 weeks later the cat was acting much worse so we took her to a different vet who quickly found a mass in her abdomen that could have been constipation, but turned out to be a tumor. Since my cat is far too old for invasive surgery, all I can do is make her comfortable. New vet gave her a thorough exam, an x-ray to see what the (not poop) mass was, subcutaneous fluids, anti-nausea and pro-appetite medications, steroids, and called the next day to follow up. We are providing end of life care now, she is much more comfortable even with terminal cancer, and I would never have known she was dying or how I needed to be helping her if I had taken this vet’s word for it. My poor cat suffered for weeks she didn’t have to! Shameful!

We have been going to Deer Creek for about 25 years, and cannot speak to all the vets now practicing there. We can speak to Drs. Kuschel, Barron and Lee. We have found them all to be skillful, compassionate and caring. They are always willing to take the time to explain treatments, any alternatives and the up sides and downs of what they are proposing. Through many heartbreaks, reliefs and joys we have always felt they were as concerned about our dogs as we were. The staff has always been cheerful and cooperative. They know us and our dogs and ask about the one(s) at home when we bring in another for treatment. We were concerned when the original Deer Creek was purchased by VCA, but while some procedures may have changed the high standard of care always remained extraordinary. Through 2 Great Danes, a German Shepherd, and 2 Weims Deer Creek has always been there for our dogs, in the office or out. We have always believed they put our dogs ahead of everything else. We enthusiastically recommend Deer Creek Animal Hospital.

We moved to Deer creek when our old vets started refusing to work with Chewy and made several of our request difficult. We have fallen in love with these folks. Recently one of our dogs was diagnosed with cancer. From the front desk to the oncologist everyone has been great. They really are a caring bunch of people. LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

We came here for an emergency visit for our cat. Unfortunately our guy was older and it was his time. The vet and the techs were knowledgeable, kind and comforting. They handled our immense grief with sensitivity and candor.

Not sure what her name was, younger vet with long brown hair. I want to say Illyana? She was awesome. We put our dog down today and she was so compassionate and honest about his condition. She even had tearful eyes while putting him down which made a huge impact on us knowing that someone outside of his family cared about his last moments.
However. One of the front desk ladies should be removed from dealing with grieving customers.
Earlier in the day, we called and were told to come in through the side so we didn’t have to see all the other dogs. I called when we got there and said we were here to put our dog down and had talked to someone previously about it. Well this front desk lady didn’t seem to care about that at all and still made us come through the front. She said she wasn’t told anything about that, but there weren’t any dogs in the waiting room... but there was. So she was clearly just trying to shut us up and get us in so she could go home. Well that went in through one ear and out the other. I had to drag my mom carrying her suffering dog through the front doors while my mom was begging me to not take her through those doors. Talk about trauma. Thanks, lady.
My mom has never put down a dog before and was a complete mess. Seeing other happy dogs was not acceptable. It made it harder. This front desk lady was also just generally rude to us. Kept calling us “ma'am” in a very condescending tone. She seemed irritated that I was trying to make this a comfortable process for my family since we had this dog for nearly 15 years. She was very “matter of fact”. Didn’t care about our feelings AT ALL. I asked for her name and she knew what was up. You DO NOT make a the family of a dying dog go through a waiting room and weigh him and treat him as if he’s an average patient. This lady needs reprimanded at the least. We cried harder due to her carelessness.
But to the lady that shed a small tear during our euthanasia, you’re the best. I hope every animal has a vet like you that cares. My mom is at least somewhat ok thanks to your compassion for her dog. She keeps bringing up and how nice you were and how happy she was to have you there during the hardest moment of her life. You deserve everything you want in life and more including a raise! (You know who you are ❤️) I will definitely be bringing her flowers later this week as she made such an impact on us.
