“I had an extremely disappointing experience at this veterinary clinic. I’ve been bringing my dog, Blue, here for years and never had any issues until recently. Over the last 2-3 visits, they’ve insisted that I sedate him just for the vet to see him, which I feel is unnecessary and excessive. Blue has never needed sedation before, and I can’t help but feel this new policy is more about convenience for the staff than what’s best for my dog.
To make matters worse, the staff has been incredibly rude and dismissive toward me. Last time I was here, Blue got a small scrape on his leg, and the vet insisted he needed staples for a scrape that clearly didn’t require stitches. It felt like overkill and left me questioning their judgment. On the visit before that, the vet wanted my husband to administer an injection to Blue instead of doing it themselves, which was both unprofessional and uncomfortable for us as pet owners.
This clinic’s approach is like a psychiatrist being scared to treat a patient with mental health issues—it just doesn’t make sense for professionals in their field. If you’re not equipped to handle common pet behaviors or basic care, why are you running a veterinary clinic?
There was no effort to explain these situations in a respectful or understanding way, and the entire experience left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. I won’t be coming back to this clinic and would not recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate, professional care for their pets. They need to seriously rethink their approach to both customer service and animal care.”

Tried to take my dog in for vaccination update and I got there 12 minutes late for an 8AM appt due to construction delays in Matlacha. The girl went to the back for 5 min and when she retuened told me I was too late to see the vet so would have to wait...1 other person was there. After an hr I just had to give up and head back to work.

Will be just going to the Vet clinic at Tractor Supply from now on and avoid this nonsense.

Dr. Hollenbeck performed a very comprehensive exam on both of our pups & took great care of them. The facility was clean, the ancillary staff was friendly and respectful, & we were seen in a timely manner. We definitely recommend this facility!

All of our dogs for the past twenty or so years have been going to this hospital and I have always experienced the professionalism, compassion, and skilled training of all the staff from the front desk to the doctors. In April I had to let go of my beloved Pepper. It was one of the absolutely worst days of my life. The staff didn’t rush us and treated Pepper and my family with dignity and respect. On a recent visit with another pet, the staff remembered Pepper and recalled her personality quite well in our conversation. It brought a smile to my face knowing that they remembered her.

I went in last minute on a Saturday about an hour before they closed as a walk in and new patient. My dog Max swallowed what I thought was a foreign body and he was not himself at all. I thought I was going to lose him so I brought him here. Dr. Hollenbeck treated Max and saved his life. She also kept me from having to go to Blue Pearl for an emergency clinic. Max is normally a pretty grumpy boy and doesn't like to be touched especially around his mouth, but the staff and Dr. Hollenbeck were able to look him over and also look at his teeth with no issues from him. Max and I both sensed the calming nature of the staff and doctor which settled Max down, which has never been able to be done before at any other clinic. I plan on bringing Max back here for his annual visits and any issues that might arise. Thank you to the entire staff for saving my boy. You have gained a client.

Our cav had a rough, first time ocean experience while on vacation in Cape Coral a few weeks ago. When we got back to our rental, she began wheezing, breathing heavily and shaking. We were worried about water aspiration into her lungs and the ingestion of salt water since she has CKD. I called multiple Veterinary clinics/hospitals and VCA Chiquita was the ONLY one that would take us right away. Courtney and the other receptionists were understanding, caring and extremely welcoming to us out of towners. I was probably taken back within 10 minutes...Once the tech and doctor came in, I was beyond relieved for their care and treatment of our pup. They were thorough with their process/pricing, which ended up being less than anticipated!
Fortunately her x-ray came back clear and I was put at ease that she was going to be okay. Dr. Tuttle even messaged me the next day checking on her! I was pleasantly surprised by my whole experience there and honestly wish our primary veterinary ran their practice this way. At least we have a vacation vet to count on now whenever we travel back to CC!

We are so grateful Chiquita is open on Saturdays and takes walk-ins. Our little Miki still had diarrhea almost a week after eating a dental chew treat, which I should never have given to her since her tummy can be sensitive. Dr Hollenbeck took great care of Miki, and she explained everything thoroughly to me. A few days later, Dr Hollenbeck followed up to ask how Miki was doing. I would definitely bring my pets here again. Miki and I had a wonderful experience, so I highly recommend it.
