Last week, I had to put down my loving dog that I had had for 12 years. My prior veterinarian, of many years, had recently closed her practice and I did not know who to call. I am so happy with my choice to call VCA Benicia Animal Hospital! The entire experience was more than I could have hoped for! They all were very kind and understanding. We were put in a "comfort room" after my pup was mildly sedated. This room was very relaxing, soothing and offered us some quality time to say goodby. Thank you to the entire staff of VCA Benicia Animal Hospital!

VCA in Benicia is fantastic! The front office staff are friendly and greeted us with big smiles. They offer Care Club, which makes all the expenses that come with a new puppy super affordable. We had the pleasure of being seen by a Tech named Annie. She was kind and very knowledgeable. She patiently answered every single one of our many questions and concerns. I would rate them 10 stars if I could.

Best vet I've used in a long time. The care and communication is spectacular. I wish I found this place years ago!

I’ll start off by mentioning what the office manager stated when I questioned why an X-ray would cost 800$… she states that “she use to work in low income areas and those people didn’t have any issues paying that 800$ price for a X-ray” Pretty terrible customer service experience today. A complete disregard to the issue the animal is having. They did not confirm any issue just tried to pass us off to a different location without even confirming the problem. They initially refused to do an X-ray to confirm the issue and refused any medication for pain and discomfort. They only recommended going to a different location for possibly surgery but couldn’t confirm the reason why she even needed the surgery. The info was given to us from the office manager who didn’t seem to have much info and no tech or doctor would come to the phone to talk. When I called back to ask for a X-ray they said it would be 800$ I questioned the reasoning for being so high the response I got from the current office manager was that “she use to work in low income areas and those people didn’t have any issues paying that price for a X-ray” very bad customer service I will not be recommending this place to anyone and have removed all my other animals from there services.

Shasta is always so happy to come and see everyone, and we are so happy for the great customer service ! Ms. Olivia was so nice as always (we love her!!) and Dr. Ryan Machowski was a pleasure as well. It's always nerve wracking having your pets under new care but he was so sweet to her and thorough in answering our millions of questions. It brings us so much comfort to know we can always trust having our baby here! P.s. please enjoy this ADORABLE picture they sent us from inside 🙂

My dog was diagnosed with a tooth that is infected and needs extraction. I called VCA and was advised that they would not be able to help in a timely manner because they would need to see my dog “multiple” times prior to the extraction thus unable to be timely. Red flag! I understand if they need to see her once and take blood to do blood work and then schedule the extraction but they said it would require multiple visits. Clearly they are not interested in assisting a dog until they make a certain amount from general appointments. Scary stuff!
