So excited to have another two bostons in town! The selection here is incredible, and as always, they have incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. I've been struggling to find Nora a ball that both excites and engages her, but that she can't eat! Found the perfect one 6 tough on the outside, but makes crinkly sounds when you chew it. They also have other cool things like doggy popcorn! I'm excited to sit down and watch a movie while we both enjoy a bag a popcorn. We'll be returning soon!

Love shopping mom and pop businesses when I can and these guys are no different. With several locations around Chicagoland they offer a wide variety of pet supplies for your dog or cat. They also serve up some delicious baked treats.

Okay so I’m going to try to keep this review brief but I make no promises because this is important and needs to be said 💜

I was born in 1978 in a very small town downstate called Momence. I don’t remember much of my early years in Momence — we moved out when I was 3. Fleeting memories I have of Momence include my mother making her famous casseroles in a small, dimly lit kitchen (the cabinets were so worn out the wood was literally splintering) and my father coming home late from his mechanic job absolutely covered in grease and oil. It was a simple, sort of classic late-70s all-American life as you can probably infer, but my parents wanted something better for myself and my two siblings so we moved to Naperville in 1981. In my opinion, that’s when our lives really started.

In 1982, I was in preschool not far from where the present day Jewel is on Naper Boulevard. These days that whole area is built out — Mariano’s, Starbucks, and a plethora of smaller stores. I was here long enough ago to remember when that shopping area was merely just the Jewel and maybe a couple other things (my memory fails me) but I do remember the Jewel was the hangout spot for all the teens back in the day. Isn’t it wild how as a young kid you think teens are like adults In 1982 I was 4, my sister Elaine was 11 and my eldest sibling, Richard, was 13. My parents only planned on having 2 kids but here I am 🤣 This was of course before the accident (and before Two-Nine 🤣) but I’ll get to that in a bit.

So I say that all to say that then in 1988 (1989?) my grandfather moved in with us and brought his dog, Mazie with him. We lived in a split level house in Old Farm and it actually worked out pretty well. We had 4 bedrooms — Mom and Dad had the master suite, of course, then each of us 3 kids had our own room. Grandpa slept in the rec room which was like a basement of sorts and Mazie was with him faithfully every day in that room. She was a wonderful dog. She was a Dalmatian — almost horse-like in stature and just beautiful. On one occasion during a family reunion I recall she attacked my cousin John and he lost that eye. We did not see Mazie again after that.

I wanted to be a veterinarian growing up. I was always wanting to be around pets. I loved the local pet store (might’ve been on Ogden back then?) — birds, Guinea pigs, you name it they had it. In 1992 my parents bought me an iguana for Christmas from that store. I named her Iggy 🤣 Iggy was like a best friend. I had Iggy for 12 years. My cat did not like Iggy to say the least but she died before Iggy did unfortunately but she was 21. Her name was Stella and she was an obese orange tabby. Sometimes she’d go missing for days in the house and on one occasions she knocked my grandfathers urn off the shelf and proceeded to get covered in corpse ash. It was a mess and since Stella every time I see a big orange tabby I remember her being so mischievous and funny. She was a character.

I got a job at a pet store I will not name (because 🤣) when I was 15. My manager, Stuart was an old curmudgeon. It was 1993, and my parents told me if I saved up enough and made the honor roll at Central they’d give me a car for my 16th birthday. I worked so hard at that pet store. My parents then divorced and I had to buy the car myself — it was a 1990 (1991?) Geo Storm. I don’t even remember the last time I saw one of those. It was a little teal sports car. I loved that car so much. I would drive it to the end of the “highway” with my friends (back then the highway ended in Minooka) and we’d listen to Madonna on the radio.

So fast forward — I still had my Geo Storm. I worked at Fox Valley at the JC Penny. I hated Black Friday. My best friend from high school already had two kids 🤣 At the wedding I remember she asked me “Sav, when are you going to open your restaurant?” I cooked for her wedding. My moms casserole recipe — green beans, cream cheese, bread crumbs, parsley… can’t give out the whole thing though, it’s a secret 🤣 My mom died in 2011 and when the Geo broke down I decided I wanted to but the

I can’t say enough good things about the store. The selection is great, but the staff are what really makes the place special. We visited today, with our newly adopted rescue dog, and as we pulled into the plaza our dog unexpectedly jumped out the window and went for an adventure through the parking lot.

As I ran after the dog one of the staff, Chloe, saw what was happening and immediately came running out of the store with a bag of treats to help wrangle our pup back. When we finally made it into the store, Chloe and the rest of the staff were fantastic; helping to calm us down and find what we needed. Needless to say, they made us customers for life.

Two Boston's is my go to store, I have been with them since their early beginnings.
The staff is always phenomenal, very helpful.and I love all their products, always top of the line with the health of our pets in mind.
I love everything that they do for our pets, all the fun activities and contests. If you haven't been already, you must go and check out one (or more) of their stores.
