I love love love the doctors in this office. You can tell they truly love what they do and they deeply care for your animals. My Molly is always well taken care of and I know she is in good hands. I always get a call, text or email checking in to see how Molly is doing after a visit and that means a lot to me! Thank you!!!

I usually NEVER write reviews but felt compelled here to share my experience with Dr Hautzinger (and I only know her name due to the fact that she text my cell after I ran out of the office, what kind of doctor texts someone after a bad experience) completely unprofessional!

I made an appointment to bring my dog in for his heart worm test to get a prescription to order heart worm medication. This was explained on the phone and in person. I asked for the price for 6 months / 1 year and they gave me a price of 400 / 800!!!

She seemed to acknowledge how insane that sounded and proceeded to tell me there may be a rebate. Then she fumbled around my dog asking ridiculous questions such as “is his nose always the same color” “have you noticed his behavior change during storms” she was clearly trying to wing her way through the appointment after such an obvious display of incompetence or price gauging.

Before she tried to administer any vaccines and the actual test I again asked what’s we’re doing about all of this since there’s clearly some misunderstanding. We went over the price quote and there were several medications on there I didn’t ask for and we didn’t discuss, nor did she seem to know what they were.

Then I told her she’s charging me double since my dog was 108 lbs on their scale so he didn’t meet the 50-100lbs medication price.
I explained he literally swings about 5-8 lbs by the day on if he eats or poops , he’s not 125-150 lbs which I could completely understand. She became very confused and agitated at that point and even hostile making all us very uncomfortable. I advised I’m not interested in paying for the test since we have no clear communication on any prices , the proceeding medical script , and treatment plans. I couldn’t run out of that office fast enough.

I used to really love and trust this vet with the older man Dr W. who worked there, he was very kind , understanding and knew his job !

Anyone who still considers this vet as their primary health provided for their loved animals should try and steer clear of this particular person as she seemed extremely incompetent and worrisome. Again, no phone call or follow up but a text message as I was driving away which is a huge red flag when someone knows they messed up.

We’ll be going to a new vet for now on. Really do remember some good experiences with the vet as a whole but have never had a good one with this particular Dr. …might be time to move on.

Bought our dog in for an 11 am appointment after she had eaten dark chocolate. Doctor did a 2 min exam for $80 and determined she needed fluids and anti nausea. Said the toxins are already out. We left paying $260. Was given no instructions for monitoring beyond give meds and a bland diet. At 2pm k called again as dog had continued to experience vomiting, they told me they were not capable of seeing her again and to go to ER. ER confirmed she was still experiencing toxicity and gave additional med. My frustration is the vet should have been able to accommodate her again. We are paid for two vets to see her bc they couldn’t fit her in. And also paid for medication ($80) we no longer need. Office manager did call us back but said there is no adjusting they can do. I will be moving practices. Really felt like a quick money grab and then pushed us off to a place with more expertise. Never again

Great staff who really care about animals. We take our cats here and they always explain everything and also don’t schedule unnecessary extras. 1-2 price vaccines on Thursdays! Glad we found this practice

We rescued a stray puppy near the Mexican border and brought her Herr for her 2nd check up and vaccination.
The Veterinarian and staff are AMAZING. So caring and loving. And with the puppy being so young and small, even though she'd been seen already and treated at a clinic in NE, everything being done for her and her treatments were thoroughly explained.
She was a little intimidated but was so well taken care of she relaxed.
I wish I lived closer to Touhy Animal or could at least pass through more. Those that get to bring their pets here are truly Blessed.

The entire staff here treated my dog like she was the cutest animal on the planet.... But, that's probably because she IS ?... I Suspect that they would have treated her the same even if she wasn't.
Everyone was extremely professional, courteous and really friendly. The vaccines my girl needed were half price on Thursdays, which was a huge help.
Keep up the great work guys!
