Our experience started off amazing with Laura the vet tech. She is caring, professional, and always listens to concerns. Our first visit with our new puppy was amazing too! After our second appointment is when care drastically changed.

DR. Una is unprofessional and will only recommend neutering to your dog if intact and if there are urinary issues. (I am sharing this as we went twice for this issue and each time we were told our dog could die if we did not fix him. )

We took our 1 yr 7 mon old American bully intact to her with urinary issues such as weak stream/dribbling and the only recommendation was to have him fixed. I had to ask for medication to keep the dog comfortable/anti inflammatory until the surgery that we were told would fix all of this - no pun intended. We scheduled it for Feb. 25th and after we left the appointment blood was present in the urine. We called back the vet tech Heather advised us that it is not an emergency until there is no urine at all coming out.

We called back today and notified that the blood looked darker and the tech let us know the Dr. would be calling us with the blood work and will review the notes. We did not get called, back we were texted, and I called with questions/concern.

During my 2nd call back again today as the blood darkened and looked thicker at this point she told me to go to the ER for an emergency neutering and call the list of er vets provided. Dr. Una raised her voice and tone with me after I was clearly upset as we called earlier and we were told that the blood was concerning but not an emergency and ended the phone call with good luck.

Unfortunately I hate to do this but I must discredit Thrives ER Vet list.

The list of ER vets provided by Thrive orland is inaccurate and almost all of them do not have surgeons on location - so the emergency neutering we were threatened with couldn’t be preformed at the locations. I called and talked with all on the list. If you really needed to use the list, I would only recommend the VEG south loop - (Dr. Grossman is unbelievable) on there as they let us know that emergency neuterings are not something they would do first when assessing this problem. They would first insert catheter if urination stopped and then monitor/run tests. They let you speak with a vet over the phone.

If you don’t care about your dog and want to get them neutered, I would 100% recommend Dr. Una Miculinic. She will happily fix what her experience has educated her to do. I’m sure that in the future she will be a much better vet and care about the animals and their owners concerns. She maybe will even provide different care plans and talk through what they can do for your dog instead of jumping to you need an emergency neutering or your dog will die.

AI did a better job assessing and listening to our concerns with empathy than Dr. Una Miculinic provided.

The tech staff there is amazing and truly care, it is Dr. Una that does not care and pushes fixing.

I usually go to Thrive in Oak Lawn, but I've come to this location the past few times. On my last visit, the doctor told us that our dog had cancer, which was most likely the reason for his seizure, and that he would need to be put down. She did a quick ultrasound and mentioned she could put him down on Monday, but I said I would prefer to do it in-home and look for other options.

When I went to pay, I had a question because they listed charges like the ultrasound, which was very quick, and a blood test, even though it was never sent to the lab since she said he needed to be put down. Despite this, they still charged me, which I accepted, but I just wanted clarification. When I asked, the doctor came out a bit combative. She even said like "what's the point of sending to the lab" - but then why charge me whole price? I just wanted clarification.. While I appreciate her telling me about my dog's situation, asking about my bill shouldn’t have been a big deal, especially when I'm already emotional about having to put my dog down. My dad was there too, and we both felt it was a bit off. I won’t be returning with my second dog and will stick to Oak Lawn instead or another vet entirely.

They were amazing! They saved my fur baby! He had a huge abscess, they were able to see him the next day after I called. I was so scared, and they were so good with him (he’s doesnt like to be touched). We are forever grateful!

Came in with my newly rescued dog. She is my second dog, and I work with dogs. I know quite a lot. The vet was very condescending. Judgy, acting as though I had no clue what I was doing. She seemed unfamiliar with the Fromm and Zignature food brands, which I told her I intended to feed my new dog.

I responded to a text 2 days after my appointment asking about a fecal exam. I was told I didn't provide a sample and wasn't billed for it. I responded that the same person who took the sample from me also compiled the bill, so it's not on me, and I needed that exam. Because of these two factors, the condescending vet and losing my fecal sample, I will NOT be going back.

Needed a last minute appointment to get paperwork for my son's cat to travel back with him to California. Staff and Dr were very accommodating, informative and friendly. Along with a good ear cleaning and a nail trim he was ready to go! Waiting area and exam room were very clean and Val loved the climbing tree in the exam room! I plan on getting two kittens and will definitely be bringing them here!
