Someone in our group picked out this spot, so I didn't know what to expect when I looked it up. The food exceeded our expectations, and the staff were very kind and accommodating to our group. No one in our group ordered the same thing, but everyone said their food was delicious!!!

The smoking pig is the cleanest restaurant in the area! Friendly staff, good food. I’m not going to lie most things need seasoning as it lacks flavor however I think that’s a Midwest thing as every restaurant in the area makes their food bland. Any way if you add a little salt and pepper you can pull out some decent flavor! The meats are cooked perfectly.

The waitress we had seemed to have a bit of an attitude the longer we were there. I'm not exactly sure why this is because we were all very pleasant with her. I do have my assumptions, and I'll leave that to your imagination.

Aside from all of that, the meals were great! Some of the best crab legs I've had. The smoked pork chop was a bit on the dry side, but the flavor was good. The taco flight was delicious, and don't even get me started on that smoked chicken quarter. The sides were all very good as well, but the mac and cheese could use some work, in my opinion.

Overall, it was a decent dining experience, and I would absolutely revisit this place.

Edit: much better and much friendlier staff this go around. She was extremely nice and very attentive. The crab legs are still amazing!!!!

We've been here twice and the food is good. My only complaint is that both times we've been, the servers weren't very knowledgeable. The first time, I think the young man was new so I was understanding of that. Rather than guess, he would find an answer to my questions -I appreciate that!

Most recently though, our waitress just guessed. It wasn't super busy so I'm not sure why she would do that. My question was in regard to the Southern Smoke Burger. She said "it's a big burger" so while we were deciding I hopped on Google to see if there were any photos of that item and came across what looked like a really big sandwich piled with bbq. When she returned, I showed her that photo and asked if that was the Southern smoke burger and she said she thought it was. Great! I want that! Well it turns out that that photo was not of this particular burger. What I received was much smaller. I didnt complain as what I received did have the mozz sticks and a spoonful of mac n cheese. But being that this burger was $16 I really expected more. It was good, I'm not disappointed in that; but I wished I had saved $5 and got the Chicken Sandwich or another burger instead. What irritated me was that the waitress guessed instead of getting me the answer. What made me even more upset was that a bit after the waitress brought the check and asked if we needed a box, we decided that we did need a box after all. I guess because we'd already paid (I left about 22% tip) the waitress was done with us. I couldn't get her attention to let her know that we changed our minds and did indeed need a box. Fortunately another waitress obliged. We will be back as I like the place, they have good food and the owner who we met on our first trip was very friendly. I only wish that this particular waitress would work harder to improve her people skills. I noticed on other reviews that a waitress was less than friendly. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name. Pictured first is the southern smoke burger: a good burger but not a big burger as described by our waitress. The second picture is what I thought I would be getting. If this item is not on the menu, I wish they would either remove it or tell the waitstaff what that actually is so that others aren't disappointed like I was. Btw the chicken strips were very good! Would order again

Stopped here on a lark just passing through the area. I'm so glad we did. My wife and I both had the brisket with a couple of sides. It was amazing!! Plus our server was very friendly and personable without being intrusive. We'll definitely go back when in the area!

Great food and service. They were a little slow, but they were packed and everyone was running as hard as they good. Great experience overall. Food was great, drinks were good. Will definitely be back. Love the playground right outside. Kids can do their thing while the adults did our thing, and could still keep an eye on them. Great time!

Hostess was nice. Server seemed like she was either having a bad day or just not very nice. Barbecue sauce was tasty, tangy and sweet Chicken tenders and barbecue chicken were good. Potato casserole was tasty but cold. Macaroni and cheese was cold and flavorless. Toast was cold and soggy. Fries were cold and tasted old like it had been under a heat lamp for a while. I politely asked for some fresh fries and the server got really mad. When she brought out "fresh fries" 20 minutes later they were a combination of old fries and new fries both of which tasted overcooked. After dropping off the fries she returned around 5 minutes later and said "Is that good enough for you?!" in a very hostile, snarky tone. I politely responded that it was fine as I didn't want conflict.

Update: disappointing 2nd visit. Weak vodka & sprite, fatty brisket, and rubbery pork rind app.

I had lunch here for the 1st time and I was blown away. The bbq pork rind appetizer was amazing. The pork rinds were crackling as I ate it, which was a real delight. The brisket was flavorful and tender. Service was great. Emily did a wonderful job. I highly highly recommend this place!
