As a clinical social worker with 15 years of experience in central Austin, I highly recommend the Center at Parmer. The staff is not only skilled but also genuinely compassionate, taking the time to understand each resident’s unique needs.

The facility is well-maintained, providing a comfortable, quality environment. Their rehabilitation services are wonderful and Aaron, the Director, is involved and available.

Susan, Stacy, and Conslar in case management are kind, helpful, and approachable. Their administrator, Hoshem, is always around and knows each one of his patients which is very rare in skilled nursing. Overall, the Center at Parmer is a remarkable place where older adults can thrive and make gains in a nurturing atmosphere.

My husband went to this facility after he fell and fractured his hip and had to have hip surgery. The physical therapy people did an outstanding job for my husband, but unfortunately, he has had to move to an assisted living facility. I really wanted to brag on Susan Zepeda at the Center. She was our case manager, and she made the transition from leaving The Center At Parmer to my husband’s Assisted Living Center as smooth as could possibly happen. She was so knowledgeable and just handled everything with such professionalism. She could not have helped me out more. She went way above the call of duty to help me, and I won’t ever forget that. She definitely deserves tons of accolades for how well she does her job. Another lady that works in the same office as Susan, Stacy Pruitt, was also very helpful and very kind in trying to make this transition to the assisted living center go smoothly. I also wanted to brag on Yari and Patty who work the front desk at this Facility. They were both so kind and helpful and always had a smile on their face. They gave a great first impression of The Center of Parmer.

First, a shout out to Marianne and Dylan, the best therapists. Also to the whole therapy team who helped my husband so much!! Also kudos to Jerry, Nicole and Nadia for their wonderful nursing care. Thank you also to Patti who helped me so much. Thumbs down to the top echelon - DON, case manager, business manager and the doctor who we never saw. They were impossible to reach, in meetings and very uninformative when we did speak to them. The majority of the nurse's and cnas were terrible, some couldn't even speak English properly.
If your priority is therapy, this is the place
If you want good nursing care, look somewhere else.

I just dischared from here. I praise this hospital. The nurses. nurse practitioners, and definitely the PT/OT are wonderful. Jerry and Jessica nurses were amazing! They got things done. Along with all the other nurses I have met on my journey. I have been here since April. I had many setbacks, but the PT/OT worked with it. I want to recognize Mike,Jason, and for sure, Sarah. She was my cheerleader all the time. Out of all the staff, Sarah was the best! I can not say enough about her. Even the upper management and front desk and food service were great.
One thing I need to say they do not do patience laundry. There is no washer or dryers. So people like me who have nobody to help, it was disappointing. Even though one of the case managers did take my clothes to her place and washed them. I was so thankful. The executive director did ask her to help. A month later I asked about getting my laundry done since new hospital does not have a laundry facility. That's my only complaint. So if you have no one to help wash clothes be prepared to put on dirty clothes. All in all 4 stars though. Thank you!! I highly recommend this hospital for you or loved ones .

1. So little nursing coverage… 2 per floor with no backup for emergencies…
2. Small sides on beds that did not keep patients in.
3. No sensor in bed to tell nursing station patient has gotten out of bed.
4. No pt on weekend
5. Very little communication with family
+ during day a wonderful nursing assistant named Chandra
- no nursing assistant at night

Would love to give zero stars!
The best part of the place is Yari, she’s a kind, caring and proactive schedule. She does a million other things as well. She needs a raise and a promotion if she’d like them!

Rooms are too small, the bed and chair had no alarms, my loved one is a fall risk. Everything that was unacceptable and considered “substandard “ care, is justified under the umbrella phrase, “patience’s rights.”

When I asked how is it possible that my loved one stinks terribly of BO and fecal matter, I was told that “he has “patient’s rights” and if he wants to stink, he has that right to do so. The same was the case for having the room stuffy, dark and stinking of filth.

The worst part of the experience was the head of nursing. This man needed to leave the industry a number of years ago. He is impatient with questions of concern, he is disrespectful, his body language demonstrates, lack of genuine care and concern, intolerance for important questions from caring family members and although when asked if I was bothering or disturbing him with my questions, he said ,”no not at all,” but his huffing, posturing annoyance and his vibe of discontent said it all. He’s clinch his jaw and stare at his coworker…. after I asked my question.

One day, I told a nurse l, regarding the manager of nursing, that, “the guy has serious issues and is no longer sociable, considering he’s in the business of helping people heal.”. The nurse shook their head affirmatively! The weekend nursing manager has a very low tolerance for engaging with family advocates. He body language is loaded with anti social responses.

After a number of days of my loved one being there, It was only then that they learned that he needed to be bed/chair bound and to have absolutely no pressure put on his operative foot. I told them, they didn’t see it in the Dr’s orders.

The manager of the entire location is a well mannered guy, soft spoken and is well suited to his position. He offers nothing but a kind and empathetic tone. He has no actual skills or maybe it’s ability to help. He is a look at the computer screen guy. His willingness to address his employees is null and void.

All I kept thinking was, “so this is corporate medical care, this is Medicare for seniors.”. A friend told me, All Rehabs are the same and just get through it.

On my way out, I asked, how is it that my lived on wasn’t bathed and that he’s going home like this. The guy assured me that he was offered a shower, but his rights to decline must be honored.
I said, hopefully, one day, someone will have energy to sue them.” His response, “us and the state of Texas.”

Avoid Center at Parmer. If you or your loved one gets sent there, plan to have kin stay with in the room 24/7. I wished I had filmed my loved one, as he declined showers, ate all day and night, gaining 10 lbs, because “he has patients’s rights and can not be denied food.”

Food Addicts, like my loved one can eat all day, snack all night, but the alcoholic is denied their right to drink.

Hopefully, the people mentioned in this review will enjoy time in a rehab, it would be fantastic for their loved ones to sit in fecal matter, and be put off for the understaffing.

Center at Parmer is a failure.

The Center at Parmer has come a LONG WAY in the right direction!! Great rehab! NOT that “nursing home” feel!
I was blown away by the staff. Everyone from the first point of contact (the representative) to the floor staff (attentive and effective) to the executive Director (Hoshem) who visited in person to make sure the patient stay was satisfactory. Even the discharge planner (Susan) was a delight and made sure the patient’s transition home was smooth and timely. Highly recommended!
