I’m excited to help the lovely folks at The Ark get their solar panels installed! I’ve been in 3 times now and it’s clear they really truly care for the animals they serve, which is so heartwarming to see. Sherry and the board and staff have been a pleasure working with so far. They’ve even have me considering adopting another cat!! Stay tuned…

Seen quite a few dogs and going back to possibly choose a new dog to bring home to be our pet. Friendly employees. Great dogs to choose from. Just so cute. Can't wait to bring our daughter to help choose.

Adopted two adorable cats from here a week ago. This shelter is great. Clean, cats all happy. People busy but attentive and nice. Cats are only $100 and have all shots, nutered and tagged.

Adopted a dog recently. Asked if any concerns from vet about health for the dog. Was told nope, dog just needed to put on some weight after being sad and depressed at the shelter. After I swiped my card and completed payment, was told some medicine would be provided for precautionary measures for kennel cough. Took the dog to the vet after the first week of the dog being lethargic, coughing, hacking, and fevering. Sure enough, the dog has kennel cough. So not only did I get sold a sick dog, but wasn’t made aware of the sickness up front before payment. Service day of adoption was terrible. Was there for hours on end. No organization. Shots being given to other dogs in the lobby. Fits being thrown when someone asked to purchase a leash and collar from the facility. The animals don’t deserve to suffer there, but I don’t recommend adopting a pet from here.

We absolutely love the ARK.Not only did we have a wonderful experience, We gained a wonderful four legged family member. Owner and staff are awesome. Went in with an opened mind, told volunteer it didn’t matter what dog we wanted to see, just that the pup’s personality must do well with cats. Volunteer asked the owner what pup would be good for us. She brought out Sally Anne.
It was love at first sight. Owner and staff sure know how to make a perfect match.

At first we had absolutely no problem with the A.R.K. until our kitten, his original name was Phil which we renamed to Apollo, had gotten ringworm. We took him to the vet and they said he more than likely got it from the shelter because our other cats are clear of it. The vet also noticed that he had a wobble to him. Originally I thought it was just because he was a kitten and still getting used to his legs and having a bigger space to walk around and play in. The room that the kittens are in at the shelter is a good size but there were quite a few kittens so I don’t know how much space they really had to run around. The vet originally thought that maybe his cerebellum cortex was smaller than normal, giving him that wobble. Later on our vet had called and said that she had dug into her college textbooks because she had a gut feeling something just wasn’t right. He showed all symptoms of toxoplasmosis, which is a parasite and it’s passed through feces or eating a dead animal. Apollo’s birth mother could have had it when she was pregnant and it was passed to him when he was born. Hence this is why pregnant women CANNOT scoop the litter box! After his diagnosis our vet gave us medicine to give him twice a day for a month. Like all cats he absolutely hated the pill and it was so hard for us to get him to take it so we asked our vet to give us liquid medicine. While we waited Apollo got worse even though we continued the pill medication as much as he would let us until his liquid medicine came in. He quit eating, quit drinking, he just wasn’t himself anymore. It was very heartbreaking to see him suffer with this so quickly. Unfortunately, Apollo suffered a stroke and when he came to he was wobbling so bad he couldn’t walk. He just kept falling over and all he wanted was us. My boyfriend and I made the hardest yet easiest decision to end his suffering and have him put down. This whole experience was traumatic and overall devastating. We grew so attached to this sweet little boy and to have him taken away from us so quickly at such a young age was torment. While some may think “Are you sure your vet wasn’t wrong” yes, I am more than 1000% confident that our vet was correct. The vet we go to is very good, all terrific reviews, the doctor is very thorough and extremely smart. We had absolutely no reason to not trust her.
When our vet called the A.R.K. to tell them what happened so they could get the other cats tested to make sure they don’t have toxoplasmosis our vet said it didn’t seem that the A.R.K. or I should say Sherri did not take any accountability, didn’t seem like she cared at all, and worst of all she told the vet she doesn’t even know what toxoplasmosis is!! How can you run a shelter and not know what that is?! I wouldn’t put it past her though. When we adopted Apollo she almost gave a dog a wrong shot! Thankfully, she caught it before giving the dog the shot. It just pains me to know that these animals are probably not being well taken care of at the shelter especially when the owner is the way she is. She was nice to us but that doesn’t excuse anything. She’s a terrible owner, way over her head, and overall just shouldn’t be there. We will never be going back there for another animal. I hope she takes our vets advise and gets the other cats tested for this terrible condition and gets them the proper care before other families get their hearts broken when their pet dies from this.

Would not suggest getting an animal from this place. It’s all good if you happen to get a healthy dog but they will sell you a dog that is sick , the owner would not refund the money it cost to adopt . Beware ..Sherri took the dog back because I took her to the vet and the veterinary was astounded as to she couldn’t breathe and had a heart condition.I spent 670.00$ at the veterinary and he was dismal about her living . The helper that works there promised to send me the refund but I never got it. When I went there to check on the dog and expected to find very caring calm people ….i was greeted by rude nasty people. I will get ahold of the Attorney General to get my initial money back. She needs to be turned in as well for her treatment of animals. This is a very serious problem, and only the people reading this can stop this unethical place of adopting sick animals. .
