The owner and groomers here are friendly and do a great job grooming my two bernese mountain dogs. Their coats are long and thick with an incredible undercoat. My dogs spend a lot of time playing and wrestling in my yard (rolling in dirt) so grooming them is a big job, and Sticky Paws always does it beautifully. Also, my dogs have two different personalities, one of them is anxious, the other wants to knock you over with her love, and the staff at Sticky Paws accepts them as they are ?. Thanks for helping me maintain my best furry friends!

I started taking my dog Romeo to Sticky Paws late last year after moving to Connecticut. I cannot say enough about how kind the staff is and how patient they are. They always do an amazing job at grooming Romeo. I would highly recommend this establishment for any of your pets needs. The owner, Hanna, grooms Romeo and always gets it perfect. The rest of the staff are also always super professional and friendly.

I’m really grateful for Sticky Paws and Hana. Bruce, our 70lb - 10 month old Pyredoodle, has gone there since he came home with us. While generally sweet, he is also big, hairy and a handful at times. He has some personal space issues and can get nippy when working around his head and paws. The crew at Sticky Paws has been very gracious and willing to work with him through his attitude problems. They’re also VERY reasonably priced! I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with them and found them very responsive to texts - my preferred method of communication. They do book up quickly, so it’s worth planning ahead.

This was our first time visiting sticky paws and I have to say that I was very pleased with our first experience. My dogs
seemed comfortable and I was really happy with their cuts. The ladies that work there were kind and informative. You can tell they really love what they do! Thank you sticky paws for cleaning up my pups today! We will definitely be coming back for our next grooming!

If you’re Black or Brown, don’t go here. Yup, I said it. I never write reviews, but at this point everyone needs to know. The heavier set girl with colored hair is rude, passive-aggressive, made up a random policy that I know for a fact she doesn’t hold others to, and gives off a “better than you energy,” despite the fact she has no idea what I do. I’ve also never seen her be as aggressive as she is with any other person dropping their dog off or picking them up, despite my being super pleasant to her and everyone there, even until this post. I am more than happy to pay what I owe, but I was quoted one price over the phone, explained my dog had matting, yet was still charged an erroneous fees without being notified ahead of time, because she was mad I opted to brush my dog out the last time I was there. Frankly, I opted to avoid an additional $40 fee out of fear she was exaggerating her condition, as I know I routinely brush my dog. I knew if I agreed to it once, she would lie every time. Being who I am, I didn’t think about it right away, but called and offered to pay them $15, for the fact they spent 30 minutes with my dog before telling me they had to shave her bald. They declined the money. Fast forward to the day I made my appointment, she made up a random rule when I called to schedule, saying I needed to pay a 50% deposit to return. I know for a fact she doesn’t have the same policy for everyone else, which is illegal discrimination, period point blank. To top it off, she complained my 15 lb, less than one year old puppy was too active to be groomed. She’s a puppy, of course she’s active. When I got back, my pup was on edge and crawled up my shirt so fast, trying to get out of there. I respectfully let her know that in the future if she’s adding a charge to someone’s bill, she needs to advise them before hand, as communication is key. That seemed to tick her off, because she said I didn’t communicate, which I did, by explaining MY DOG HAS MATTING. Seriously though and objectively speaking, the cuts are average at best. If they were great, I would say so. So, on top of Sticky Paws being average and one of the females there having a bad attitude, I am happily returning to my New Haven groomer, who I stopped going to because the drive from my house in Woodbridge to them didn’t seem justifiable, when I have a groomer in town. She should let the shorter, more pleasant girl handle customer interactions. Hope this helps someone, don’t say nobody told you!

I want to start by saying the owner has always been very nice and professional when I have spoken to her… however I have an incredibly anxious 1 year old poodle mix. While she always is very sweet and accommodating to my nervous pup, I am continually disappointed by the service. The past 2 appointments I’ve asked for additional services (teeth cleaning, nail trimming etc), she never does the additional services and doesn’t mention anything until I say something about it. She also cut off all his whiskers which I found odd.
After services she keeps my pup away from other dogs in a crate because he’s timid and about 5 lbs- I was upset when I came to pick him up and she told me he let himself out of the crate and was mingling with the other dogs. I’m happy he was fine with the other dogs, but they could have played too rough and hurt him since he’s only 5 lbs. Long story short she’s extremely nice, if you don’t have a dog that needs why special requirements she does a nice job!

As someone who never writes reviews I felt the need to write this one. Sticky Paws did a phenomenal job with both our pups. Under 2 hours for full service without crating either of them (which they both hate). Friendly and professional staff that will treat your dog like family. Giving them only 5 stars feels like an insult. Will be back many a time again!!!

I honestly almost never leave reviews but this one just can’t be ignored. Hana (owner) and Sara are so much more than just women that bathe your dogs. They truly care for animals more than money. If you go in there requesting anything that is not in the best interest of your dog don’t expect service. If you bring your dog in there matted to the point of it causing pain, your dog is not going to be put through endless painful brushing, combing and snipping just to please the human eye, your dog is going to be shaved down to feel relief. My journey with sticky paws began when I got a 6 month old puppy out of a horrendous situation that included being in a cage her entire life until then. I brought her in probably looking like a lost dog myself, crying trying to explain her situation, I knew I just needed help for her. She was matted, smelled like she had been sitting her in own waste for awhile and her nails were claws. Sara embraced her without hesitation, went extremely slow with her, using a soft voice to explain every step. Now I’m sure my pup didn’t understand a word she was saying but what she did understand was the love and compassion radiating around her. Ever since then she is so happy and comfortable at sticky paws. I see reviews at times when people aren’t happy that directions aren’t followed etc but if your directions don’t line up with the health and comfort of your animal, find another place where dogs are truly just moneymakers. I’ll never forget the compassion shown, not only to my dogs but to me as well.
