Dr. Rick is the absolute best vet and I have more confidence in his knowledge and advice than even my kids own pediatrician. He’s truly cares for not only the pets, but the pet owners as well. He’s knowledgeable and practical with a heart that’s truly authentic. We all love Dr. Rick and his amazing staff!

My family has been taking our pets here since the 90’s with our first family dog. When I moved away we’d seen other vets but when my dog had a cancer scare I knew I needed to see Rick and the team at South County for a second opinion and they had the most compassion and best “bedside manner” of any vet I’ve ever been to which meant so much to me in such a difficult time. When we moved further out of town again we began commuting to make sure we could keep them as our vet. Their attention to detail and experienced team makes it absolutely worth it. The whole staff is lovely. Everyone is so helpful and kind and it feels like they’re all doing everything they can to make it a good experience for all. They’re patient and understanding and they’re great with my senior dog. We now mainly see Dr. Dani and love her but recently saw Dr. Caitlin and she was so great as well. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any doctor here.

We have been bringing our fur babies to South County Animal Hospital for many years. They are the only place we trust to take our "kids" to. The entire staff is very friendly & compassionate to our needs. They always go above & beyond to accommodate us. Dr. Rick & Dr. Dani are the best! They are so knowledgeable & always take the time to explain everything so we fully understand. I would never take my babies to any other office. Dr Rick genuinely cares. Our dog is not a "normal" dog with normal issues; Dr Rick actually diagnosed him in the first place, years ago, and has been a close partner with us to manage his journey. He takes the time to listen to our concerns; offers sound, realistic advice; and helps us stay focused on what is best for our fur baby. We've had a lot of dogs over the years, so a lot of vets as well, and are truly grateful that we found Dr Rick. Cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Rick is simply the best vet I have ever met. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive. I would drive 2 hours to see him. My daughter brings her dogs to Dr. Rick from Redwood City. The staff is very good. The highest rating for South County Animal Hospital.

My cat had tumors on his leg and was either needing an amputation or to be put down. Dr Rick was able to save his leg and do a tumor removal surgery. I am so grateful for his expertise, his kindness and his compassion Thank you again Dr Rick. I am so appreciative.
