I met Marcela Perez when she came highly recommended to me by my equine veterinarian. My horse needed rehabilitation after an accident of busting through a fence.
At Marcela’s bi-monthly and monthly visits to treat another one of my horses, my miniature horse was not happy that he was not being treated, too. So Marcela began bi-monthly and monthly visits for rehabilitation and then treatments of body work and electrical stimulation to my miniature horse.
I no longer have that original horse (I am four horses past him) but each horse I own has enjoyed Marcela’s monthly visits as Marcela has been visiting my miniature horse and treated monthly since our first visit. I feel Marcela’s work has kept my miniature horse healthy, thriving, and active and keeping him so much younger than his 31 years.

Marcela has been treating my horse now for a little over two months. Luke is 18 years old and has Navicular. Due to this issue, it's hard to exercise him without him becoming sore and, in some cases, pretty lame. His stifles can get extremely stiff as a result of the lack of exercise as well. All in all, he ends up compensating for his Navicular in ways that make his whole body sore and throw his gait off.

I first met Marcela by chance after she had finished treating another horse at the ranch where I board. We struck up a conversation and I learned that she has treated horses with Navicular before, and more frequently horses with stifle issues. She explained to me the different methods she uses and I grabbed her phone number. I then spoke with other women at the ranch who swore by Marcela and her treatments for their horses and dogs! So, I made an appointment for Marcela to meet Luke.

First, Marcela watched Luke walk and did a full body examination of him. Luke's stifle and Navicular soreness were no surprise to either of us, but Marcela also found that Luke's whole topline in his back was spasming and extremely sore from compensating for his other issues. Even the muscles under his shoulders were sore to the touch. Marcela decided she would treat him using electrical stimulation (similar to what some of us get done at the chiropractor) and ultrasound therapy. Because Luke gets nervous with people who appear to be vets, Marcela took her time introducing herself to Luke and letting him smell and check out all of her equipment. Slowly but surely she began the treatment. Luke enjoyed it so much, he almost fell asleep during it. After, Marcela showed me some stretches I can do with Luke to help him out. Later that evening, Marcela emailed me a report of Luke's examination. By the way, she sends a report every time she does a session, so you can see how your horse has progressed through treatments.

After just 5 sessions with Luke, there is very limited soreness in his back almost gone, he's walking significantly better (trying to trot and out-walk me at times, which hasn't happened in a long time), is more energetic, is more balanced on turns and uneven ground, and is standing square for longer periods of time, which was all difficult for him before. His stifle is almost completely better.

I would absolutely recommend Marcela and her services to any owner of a horse or dog in need of some therapy for injuries or general discomfort. She has truly helped Luke and I am very appreciative.
