Unfortunately, had the worst experience I’ve encountered in a long time with this dental office . As a social worker with 16+ years experience and foster adoptive mom of 7+ years I have dealt with lots of situations and people. I truly try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. I know receptionists at health care clinics encounter difficult folks often, people in pain, people stressed mentally and financially etc. but i have watched so many skilled, excellent workers deescalate, care for and manage to administer services to folks who were almost totally out of control using a little kindness and understanding. Today I can not say that kindness was available to me. I forgot my foster placement papers after picking up three kids from school two hours early to drive them an hour to the only dental clinic currently open to new patients and accepting Medicaid for my foster son in So Illinois (a travesty in itself). It was my fault, I forgot the papers , I had too much on my plate, that’s on me. I’m a 40 year old adult I can own my mistakes. However, the way i was treated in a time span of just over 15 min for forgetting them was absolutely Appalling.
I don’t have enough space Here to share the story. But I was able to get the paperwork i needed via email from caseworker in less than 10 minutes, however It was only in time to walk out the door in tears, with my embarrassed worried children, one she directly accosted with her words as he asked if she was making us leave. As a Customer service receptionist she had every right to stick to policy, as a social worker I understand policy and procedure it keeps us safe, it keeps the cogs turning . If she had said anything resembling CUSTOMER SERVICE, like I’m so sorry We won’t be able to see him today, but I’m happy to reschedule you guys and we will get him in, I probably would’ve understood, although been disappointed. But she didn’t - instead she was somehow beyond rude, cold, defensive and downright uncaring from the moment we arrived to the moment she told me “I had one minute to get her the paperwork or the appt was cancelled” as I filled out her clipboard in the empty waiting room. There is a time in every organization for policy, but policy should never override people and services. My son should’ve been seen today maam, I want to believe if you heard my foster sons story your heart would crack open with compassion at what he has already endured. abuse within the medical systems is a portion of his story. Today you further added to his trauma by both prolonging his tooth pain and burning into his memory yet another terrible medical visit. But perhaps you’ll sleep well knowing you shaved maybe 2 minute off the schedule by keeping your very important 10 minute time policy.oh and Thank you again for reminding me that you didn’t charge me for being the “ no show” I should’ve been classified as - your words not mine

Although the wait time to get in is Substantial from time appointment is made. I've been assured that this is the way things are around here. Getting used to that has been a culture Shock Because I could make appointments same day where I came from and go in If needed. The facility was mint clean. The care I received here Was beyond my expectations! Everyone so nice and friendly and say I have great teeth and to keep up the good work. Going out of their way to compliment my oral hygiene. I've only had cleanings for last 15yrs no cavities. Make sure you floss! I eat candy all the time but no soda and have no problem. Just wear and tear. If you got a yuck mouth and expect some1 to tell you same not gonna happen. Don't smoke don't do meth brush and floss you will be 100%. Don't take it out on your Dr because you don't hear what you want to! Thank you for great service!

Janet White is an extremely knowledgeable and compassionate PA. We have been going to her for years and she is far better than any physician that I have ever seen. Her nurse Debbie is also superb.

Not a single star should be given to this dental office until they terminate the receptionist that was working the window on 5/16/2024. I am absolutely appalled at the rude, non- compassionate behavior of this woman. Complaints will be filed with Rural Health, the ADA, and HHS.

The Rural health inc. location in Goreville has recently moved to a new location, a brand new, state of the art facility, just up the road, on the North side of town, at 211 N. Broadway. I went there to have my teeth cleaned, and was treated well by the receptionist, the dental assistant, and the dentist as well! I honestly cannot imagine how my experience could have been better!
