This place is awesome!! I work 3 night shifts a week and I’m so thankful for a place where I can drop my dog off for the day and get some much needed sleep while she plays with her friends. She’s a shy girl and was unsure about it at first but the staff there make sure all dogs are safe with each other and have the best experience. Gael, the trainer, worked with her and she has warmed up and is now so excited to go here!! I can tell she is so happy when I drop her off and pick her up and she sleeps hard afterwards lol. Staff is very friendly and I can tell they care about my baby girl! Thank you guys so much ~

Gael always watches our dog and does such a great job! Recently my family was gone on a vacation for a few weeks, and because our dog is so young he couldn't be kept at home by himself while I worked. Gael made sure that the little guy got plenty of exercise and socialization with other dogs which he really needs! He even came home listening better than when we dropped him off! The whole staff is super friendly and always does a great job with our pup.

I own my own Animal rescue and there is no other place I would put my dog period. My dog is very well taken care of and the staff is friendly and you can see they care . I have owned dogs for many many yrs I have tried other places here in town and all I have to say is I can sleep well knowing ALL needs are met and that my dog is so much better behaved since he is a part of their family there!!! Congrats also for the awards they have received and for Gaels recent award from the local public as number one dog trainer! You do a great job with my velociraptor … we will be in soon!

Gael,
I want to thank you for helping with my dog who is a rescue (who saved who), I never would have thought a year ago my dog would be able to perform and kind of obedience but after you started working with my pup it's been a complete 180. I met Gael as I was broke down on the side of the road all he did was slap my grill and it started right away which was amazing considering I needed gas. The handling on my F150 has improved as the breaks and wheel alignment are in perfect condition since this man graced me with his physical contact it's been two months and I haven't even used a quarter of my tank and the model year is now a 2026 I had a 97.
Thank you,
A loyal customer

I had a very nervous, fearful dog, that had already been through 2 homes before me. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to help her grow. The trainer Gael was able to work with her until she was comfortable with other dogs and people! She opened up completely and became a happy go lucky sweet girl. I am so glad I had his help and support when I was at my breaking point.

We have been boarding our dogs here for over 7 yrs. I left a excellent review in the past because we have always had great experiences, however, this week we boarded our dogs for 6 days and when we scheduled the pickup we were advised they would no longer give our dogs a quick bath prior to picking them up, it was going to be an additional $50 to bath them. They have always given a quick courtesy bath if you boarded for more than 3 days. My dogs smelled like pee, fur had gunk from other dogs stuck in it. ( not a fun ride home for us) we will be looking for a new facility or just use Rover from now on, they took the fun and convenience out of it for us. We used to talk this place up and refer them, sadly I can’t any longer.

We are very happy with Run-A-Muk? My first Basset Hound , Bella, had a weekly appointment and over-night stay . As soon as we turned onto White Spar she would sit up in her car seat and get very excited !bc she knew she was going to RAM…The staff was always so friendly and happy to see us ! As Bella grew older ,the staff pampered her and cared for her and kept her up front on a soft bed when she didn’t have the energy to play outside any more … and When she passed away - we received the nicest card from the entire staff with sweet messages & their memories with her .
Now I have another Basset Hound Cookie and a Chaweenie named Pumpkin . They love RAM too and just spent 10 days there while we went on vacation . The staff is great especially Miss Bella and Gael !

Would I recommend Run-A-Muk as a place to bring your dog for daycare and boarding? A month ago, I would have said yes. I now have a very different opinion.
My husband and I brought our dog in for their required assessment and was told that she was a great candidate for their kennel-free environment. She loves other dogs and really enjoyed daycare. We recently took her to Run-A-Muk and boarded her for two nights/three days. She played so hard, got a lot of exercise, but came home with a cough and very sore paws. The yard is strewn with small pebbles, and her back paws were red and infected. We took her to our vet, and he prescribed antibiotics for the kennel cough (she was and is up to date on her vaccines). I used peroxide, antibiotic salve and bandages to get her paws healed. I shared with the office staff my concerns as I wanted to know if any other dogs became ill around the same time we boarded our dog. There were other cases that came up.
I have spoken with other dog owners that had brought their dogs to Run-A-Muk and listened and learned about their negative experiences. I also spoke with other boarding facilities who did not have favorable comments. I learned the following:
1. The dogs are kenneled for 12+ hours every night without having the ability to “do their business” outside, but instead must relieve themselves in the kennels and remain in this condition until the morning staff arrives to let them out.
2. I have been told that there have been incidents when they have been left without water during this duration.
3. The dogs are left unattended, and there are no night staff to avert any problems that could arise. Gael, the Canine Behaviorist lives on site, but is not working and not attending to the dogs’ needs during the hours that the business is closed. They are left alone and defenseless.
4. During daycare, there have been over 100+ dogs in the yard. I like the idea of a cage free environment, but this number is concerning. They do not employ enough staff, let alone enough qualified staff to be able to deescalate a negative situation that could (and has) arise.
5. Sanitation is also a concern. I am aware that they clean and sanitize the inside kennels, but how do you sanitize the play yard when there are that many dogs relieving themselves during the day and then running and playing in their urine and feces? It does not rain enough here to filter the playground area. This is why our dogs’ paws became sore and infected.
At first, we were comfortable with Run-A-Muk. I even nominated and voted for Gael as trainer and Run-a-Muk as best kennel in the recent Daily Courier choice awards contest. I wish that I knew then what I know now as I would not have assisted them in getting their recent awards. I am tempted to contact the Daily Courier to make them aware of the issues and concerns of not only myself, but of others as well. I wish I could rescind my votes.
After hearing of issues and concerns from multiple people and those also in the business, I cancelled our scheduled boarding appointment for this past week. We were incredibly happy with our decision and our pup enjoyed her stay at an alternate facility and did not come home sick. She was tired from playing with other dogs (maximum of 6), but the dogs play in a grassy area and are supervised 24/7.
Lesson learned. I can only suggest that when looking for a safe and healthy environment for your loved one(s) that you do your due diligence and look past the façade. Things are not always what they seem.
Some staff members have a true passion for their jobs and love for animals. I am sure that they would love to feel that they are working in a safe and healthy environment, not only for themselves, but for all the animals that we leave in the care of others to love and treat them like we do.
