Highly disappointed in this clinic and their lack of remorse to their own surgical errors. If you make mistakes at least be professional enough to own up and take accountability. AVOID this place at all costs unless you want to pay for confirmation testing and another surgery!!! When we got our dog a year ago this was the clinic the previous owners were using for her puppy shots so we decided to stay with them since they had all of her records. At 6 months old we had her spayed because research indicated the younger you spay the better it is for the animal. She is a Yorkie and we had NO intentions on breeding her so spay seemed like the best for our dog. After her spay they sent us home with a paper that stitches should dissolve after 2 weeks. We waited 4 weeks and the stitches did not appear they were doing anything except developing huge puss pockets. We took her in and they removed the stitches. Here we are 9 months later and she is in heat!! Dogs who are spayed should not have a heat cycle (enlarged nipples, enlarged vulva, excessive licking). I called and they told me most likely there was tissue left behind causing hormones to put her in heat. We would need to do a $305 test for them to confirm (even though they said nothing else could really cause this). Why would we be responsible for the $305 test then if the test comes back positive (which if she is in heat it would right?) she would need another operation to remove the tissue. Wouldn’t you think Rescued Heart, a professional vet office that clearly missed something or did not do a through inspection during the surgery would offer to a assist with a test if they needed this to determine there is hormonal tissue? I asked about cost of the surgery and they said depending on where the tissue was would determine who pays. Wait? I paid for this service once so because the vet missed something to properly spay my dog I have to pay again!? She proceeded to tell me that if it was their error I may not need to pay some of it but if it was something special with my dog then I would have to pay. Again I paid for a surgery to have my dog spayed so if there was something "special" that should have been mentioned the first time and end result the vet messed up I shouldn't have to pay a bunch of money. TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY!!! I called another vet that said to find the tissue she would have to have an operation no matter what so blood testing would not be required. It's just another step for them to get $$$$. Clearly their not looking out for my dog and never any mention of helping us out! All the vet really wanted to say when I asked about cost and stuff was "if you don't trust us you can find another vet". How can you even say that? Trusting you guys did what I paid you the first time so my dog doesn't need additional operations I would expect a better response. Like "we are sorry and we would be happy to address the issue" not we would have to see how it goes and let you know!!!!! What we should really be discussing at this point is a refund for the surgery that ya'all got paid for and DID NOT DO!! Our poor little 8 lb dog is now going to have to go under surgery (more extensive surgery and Rescued Heart does not care in the slightest. I leave reviews for all places good and bad based on my experiences and this by far is one of the worst experiences and the lowest level of compassion I have ever witnessed.

Please, save your money and trust the care of your animals to Pekin Veterinary Clinic instead of Rescued Heart. My experience was unbelievably shady.

This is by far the best vets around!!! Anyone that has pets know how hard it is to lose one and they have so much compassion know what you are going through. Will always take our pets here.

Amazing people!!..Very caring and compassionate when we had to help our old girl Maya to the rainbow bridge. Above and beyond anywhere else we have ever gone.. got her back yesterday in a beautiful cedar box with her name embossed on top... Dr Newcomb was SOO INCREDIBLY sweet and caring.. the hugs after it was over did me in!!..thank u Rescued heart

We have had nothing but issues with this place from the start when taking our dogs for a SIMPLE grooming...bath, brushing/combing, toes and teeth. Nothing but "upselling" for crap we don't need for our dogs...unnecessary shots!! It was ALWAYS over $200!! The last straw was this last grooming when they asked if they could sedate our very mild mannered Collie. Sedate? For a grooming? No...no need for that. Well, long story short, they called my husband AT WORK with some cockamammy story about our boy being matted this...tangles that...which by the way....would've been MAYBE at the ears, if anything. My husband was very busy and just told them to go ahead as he had to get off the phone. On top of all this...when my husband went to pick him up, the gal had said our Collie was bleeding at his foot when he came in. Utter LIE! There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with him when he went in but sure was when he left. Which BTW....I HAVE the pictures of the back of my JEEP of the pink blanket with NO...MEANING ZERO...blood spots on it! My husband even looked as soon as I got home and verfiied 0 blood spos! I understand accidental clippings happen but DO NOT LIE ABOUT IT!! I would definitely think twice before taking your kids here....we are done with it all! Horrible and they just keep getting worse. Apparently sedating dogs for grooming is a new thing When my husband picked up our boy, the check in person was going through the same exact speel about sedating with another customer dropping her dog off. I have NEVER heard of anything more lazy and dumb in my life! Sedation for a grooming?!?....pffft! DO YOUR JOB!!

While traveling from out of town our little senior dog took a turn for the worse, and we were able to walk right in on a Saturday with a minimal wait. The staff was all very kind and sensitive to our needs and took extra special care with our little guy.

I would not recommend kenneling your pet at Rescued Heart. They make you sign a waiver that says if something happens and your pet needs to be treated by the vet that they will call you before they do anything and if they can't get ahold of you then they will go ahead and treat them. The problem is they never call you before they treat the pet. Then you have all these unexpected charges on your bill because you were not consulted about whether you wanted your pet treated or not.

My daughter brought her dog in thinking it would cost her for boarding. They wound up giving him medication for itching. They are suppose to call you if they have to give your dog medication. She wound up paying around $140 for 3 days. They did not call her. My daughter and I are kenneling our dogs at another kennel.
