I stayed only one night in September 2024. I was exploring the area, but there were bad wildfires in Stanley, so I came a bit north to get out of the smoke. About an hour after I checked in, the power went out all over town. It was warm in Idaho, and I decided to go sit outside until the power came back on. That is where I got to chat with the owner. He confirmed my assumption that the building used to be an assisted living facility. That is why the building is off the main street, and the bathrooms and halls are so large. It is unbelievable that an assisted living facility went out of business. Overall, a great night at this hotel. The shower pressure was good, and plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable. I had some issues with the TV but used my iPad to watch the news, etc. If I were back in the area, I would stay there again.

Room was spacious and very clean, bed and linens were comfortable. Check in was easy and staff friendly and courteous. Loved the simple decor and landscape photography. Price was appropriate! Just needed one night to rest and recover after long trip in the Crags before heading home. Would stay here again if we were in the area for recreation.

In a small town with limited options, this place stands out. The room was very clean, and the location was convenient.

That said, there isn’t much to do in the area. The service was good, making it a decent choice for a short stay.

My room was large, clean, nice bathroom and shower. Bed was comfortable, the person who checked me in was friendly, courteous, and checkin was easy and fast. I was passing through so did not look around the Challis area, but if I ever go back will certainly stay at the hotel again. Price was good for the night I was there.

My family stayed here a year ago. We looked into the history of the building before staying. The manager was great when we checked in. Super friendly and kind. We had a room with a couch and they provided clean linens and comfy pillows. We had hangers and a dresser in our closet (which we sanitize personally and prefer to use). The bathroom was the only area that we thought they could improve on cleaning wise. Overall, will stay again!

What a Great place to stay while in the beautiful Challis area. The lodge is well maintained, clean, with ample parking and in Challis, just a minute off the highway. Rooms were roomy, clean and updated. Les, who checked us in was informative, helpful and friendly. They are also pet friendly which was a bonus. Give this place a try if you ever need to stay or explore the area.

Off of Hwy 93 in Challis sits a nice little lodge. A renovated assisted living facility, it has been updated/upgraded to offer a warm, quiet evening of relaxation. The views are awesome! Les is knowledgeable and offers many great local attractions, hikes, and hidden gems to go and explore. They don't serve a breakfast (at this time?) however there is a couple of places in town to fill your tummy.
