This was my first time in treatment. Honestly, it completely changed my life. The bonds that I’ve made in this place, the sober network I’ve built, getting my psych meds right, the entire staff and facilitators- have all been such an extraordinary experience for me. I never understood the difference between just being sober/clean versus actually working a program/recovery. RU has helped me to understand that recovery goes beyond clean time- and it’s about changing who you are for the better and continuing to progress as a person overall. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has even the slightest desire to change their life for the better. Gold star all around! AND THANK YOU FOR CHANGING MY LIFE!

Recovery Unplugged was an amazing experience for myself who had tried treatment a bunch of other places and routes, it was truly my last stop. Wonderful staff and very engaging groups! Would recommend to any friends or family looking to get clean or follow up on their sober journey to check them out!!

My husband worked through an in-patient program here and his progress has been truly remarkable. He celebrated his one year sobriety date a few weeks ago. He's on a healing journey, stays in touch with people from the program, and is involved with the alumni group! RU exceeded all of our expectations. A special shout-out to Abby and Wu for helping us to feel more at ease throughout this difficult process. I recommend this program to anyone who is ready to work a program and get their lives back!

The facility took no responsibility for the THEFT OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS (several hundred $ worth).

The counselors did not address concerns voiced about BULLYING by other patients.

The “security check” upon admission was so bad, they failed to confiscate CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES of abuse present in plain site in the patient’s backpack.

Despite the program claiming it was secular, there were mandatory meetings including rituals and religious prayer.

The conditions of the living space and transportation bus were even dirtier than my frat house in college.

These are just some highlights of the many complaints my family had with this facility. Absolutely do not recommend!

Subject: Urgent Concerns Regarding Treatment and Facility Conditions

I am writing to formally express my grave concerns and dissatisfaction with the treatment and conditions at your facility. My experience has raised several serious issues that need immediate attention and resolution.

Firstly, the lack of communication regarding my medication is unacceptable. Failing to give me my prescribed medication is a HIPPA violation of medical standards, and endangers my health and well-being. This negligence must be addressed immediately to ensure that all clients receive the necessary medical care.

Secondly, there have been multiple instances where individuals infected with COVID-19 have been admitted to the center without proper testing or quarantine measures. This disregard for health protocols has resulted in my own quarantine and illness since the 20th, causing significant distress and disruption to my recovery process. It is imperative that stringent measures are implemented to protect all residents from exposure to the virus.

Additionally, I have experienced theft of personal items from my room. Despite reporting these incidents and the admitted culpability of those involved, I have been unjustly written up. This lack of accountability and fairness is deeply troubling and undermines the supportive environment that a rehabilitation center should provide.

I also want to highlight the unprofessional behavior of some staff members who engage in troubling conversations about recovery, which is detrimental to the healing process. While I understand that not all employees are at fault, it is crucial that the facility upholds a standard of professionalism and respect towards all clients.

The Issues I have outlined above have severely impacted my trust in your facility’s ability to provide a safe and supportive environment for recovery. I respectfully request immediate action to address these concerns, including a thorough review of the protocols and practices at Rehab Unplugged. I also seek a clear explanation regarding the mishandling of my medication, the inadequate COVID-19 precautions, and the unjust disciplinary actions taken against me.

I hope that by bringing these concerns to your attention, necessary improvements will be made to ensure the safety, well-being, and fair treatment of all clients. I look forward to your prompt response and a resolution to these matters.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

Sincerely,

Chris Howard

In February of 2023 my life was completely falling apart. I was broken down and hopeless. I was losing everything that truly mattered to me and I had no idea how to fix the destruction that my alcohol use had caused. I had separated from my husband of 20 years, lost my job, broke my daughter and the rest of my family’s hearts and I was barely living. In fact, I was just existing; floating around aimlessly. I had finally had enough. My family took me to detox where I spent a week hating myself and the life I had been living, While I was there I was given 3 options on rehabilitation centers I could go to based on my insurance coverage. I knew nothing about rehab centers and assumed they were all the same so I chose the closest one to me. They did not have space for me at the time but by the grace of God I ended up at Recovery Unplugged and they saved my life. With the support of the staff and the community around me, I made it through the tough days and slowly I began to smile again. I began to laugh. I began to feel human. I was surrounded by people who were so similar to me; all facing challenges, from all walks of life, all struggling with addiction and all seeking a solution to the problem. I started to have some hope that life could be different. It is hard to put into words what the staff at Recovery Unplugged has done for me. They loved me when I could not love myself. They taught me a new way of living and dealing with life on life’s terms. They kept me safe when I wasn’t capable of keeping myself safe or making good decisions. They helped me to see the reality of my actions and I slowly started to realize how delusional and warped some of my beliefs were. This mental shift is what helped me to change my behavior and ultimately, change my life. I am now in IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) three times a week. I look forward to IOP; it is like going back home. The people I met in treatment and the staff at Recovery Unplugged feel like family to me. I have been so blessed to have been given the opportunity to rebuild my life. Recovery Unplugged has been a support for me every step of the way. Everything I lost is slowly coming back to me and in ways that I could never have imagined. I have so much gratitude for this program and for the staff that work there. They truly put their heart and soul into helping people with their recovery and it has made a huge difference in my life, my family’s lives, and the lives of so many others like me. A Wife. A Mother. Maybe even the coworker sitting next to you. 🙂
Thank you again RU for saving my life!

RU is the best addiction treatment center there is. The program is personal and caring with a smaller group of people compared to other rehabs. The staff are accommodating and kind with many being former addicts themselves who are able to truly empathize with whatever you're going through. The music therapy aspect was very cool especially as a musician myself and I enjoyed listening to new music as well as jamming out with some fellow patients! I had a one of a kind experience and have been given the tools to continue my life of sobriety.
P.S. Melod rules and is pretty good at skateboarding

I cannot say enough positive things about Recovery Unplugged. I was able to learn so much about addiction and recovery during multiple months of outpatient treatment, which I received at this facility. All of the counselors that I worked with were very kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, intelligent, caring, and personable. I honestly feel that this facility strives to tailor each client's recovery program specifically to each individual, although most of the recovery program is delivered within a group format. The counselors that work here really seem to care about the clients not only within the program, but also after the clients graduate. Nearly a year since I graduated from the program, I still keep in touch with many people who I have met at this facility, both staff and other clients who have become supportive friends. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to grow significantly in my recovery by receiving treatment at Recovery Unplugged. I would not hesitate to recommend Recovery Unplugged to anyone seeking success in life in recovery from drugs and/or alcohol.
