Brought my 18 year old cat who took a turn for the worse over the last month. The older female vet was SO compassionate and was truly exactly what we needed. She is a gem! It was decided that there was nothing else we could and we would bring her back in 2 days to be euthanized. Dr. Kim came in and didn't introduce himself, didn't walk us through this traumatic event and spent about 10 seconds with us, put our kitty down and walked out. Not one ounce of sympathy or compassion. I understand for him this is probably an everyday thing and this is a business. Look, I really don't need to be coddled, i'm a big girl and this last moment of my kitties life isn't about him or me....But at minimum at least walk us through the process, what to expect and be just a little bit kind. It doesn't take much. I don't think id be back for something like this again. I could have taken her to the pound and got more kindness.

EDIT: I did call the office - I was told that's just how he is and that hes "old school" in case anyone wondered if I followed

Sheesh, now I understand all the negative reviews around Dr. Kim. Office staff was great, but definitely will not be back. Spent maybe 20 SECONDS in the room with me and my dog, did not even make eye contact with me and had the assistant come in the room and try and hand me a $400 bill for my dogs ear infection. Good vets are hard to come by and this one is not it!

Honestly everyone is great but the vet! I forgot his name. He saw my kitten for less than 5 minutes and decided there was nothing he could do for him. But he was quick to refer me to a specialist that is partnered with this place so I can get surgery asap! Said my kitten couldn’t afford to wait for the surgery to remove his eye. I had to ask for antibiotics, and ointment. Fast forward about a month later my kitten is so much better and does not need surgery. 0/10 for the vet. He sucks. Ointment and antibiotics and the visit were highly overpriced as well. Go elsewhere.

First time visiting this vet. Maggie was so kind and provided helpful information. It was nice not to have an excessive wait when arriving for our 2pm appointment on a Saturday. All of the staff were attentive and caring for our little "fur baby".

I would have given zero stars, but that was not an option.

They gave my dog an antibiotic resistant infection when she had surgery there several years ago for a double TPLO. She had to have two more rounds of surgery to remove plates and allow the antibiotics (highly toxic and highly expensive ones, some of which nearly killed her) to clear the infection, an infection that was making it very difficult for her to heal up. Did they assume any responsibility for what they did? Heck no. I may have received a minor discount on the first plate removal, but their mistake took me to the cleaners. Between two additional surgeries (in addition to the first round) and outrageously expensive antibiotics, and all of the associated health issues generated by those toxic antibiotics, I'm reasonably certain I spent well over $10K (conservative estimate) getting her fixed up.

Oh, did I mention this: One of RRVH's doctors performed x-rays regularly after her initial surgery, and always said how beautifully my dog's legs were healing. But her legs were not healing. I took her to an ortho specialist, he indicated that my dog's legs had barely healed at all post op. Doesn't exactly inspire confidences, does it? After I learned that, I told RRVH that that particular doctor was not to ever treat my dog again. I was furious. This is same doctor, after I expressed concern that they allowed an antibiotic infection to occur while she was in their care, actually tried to blame my dog for the infection. Can you believe this?

Because of the infection, I had to isolate her from my other senior dog for six months. It was heartbreaking to see two dogs that wanted/needed to socialize/play and couldn't.

The stress on all of us was unbelievable. I will never forgive them for this, even IF it MAY have been a one off.

AVOID THIS PLACE!

ADDENDUM: I Saw your response below. I have had MULTIPLE conversations with your company regarding this situation. It did absolutely no good. You had your opportunity to do right by my dog and by me. You chose not to. Oh, and your response below was not intended for me, it was intended for your current and future customers.

Been bringing my cat here for almost 3 years since we adopted her. Staff is always friendly and so helpful. Kiwi usually growls at new people but she trusts their veterinarian team to keep her healthy! Thank you Rancho veterinary staff <3

Dr Z is so sweet and personable, unfortunately the rest of the staff is not :(. The women at the front desk did not greet me when I walked in despite it being completely empty. When I was waiting for my dog, the front desk staff kept talking poorly about patients after getting off the phone with them. She also kept referring to people as stupid

Nice location. Friendly staff. My only frustration was bringing my dog in for an acute injury, first thing in the morning. Empty parking lot, empty waiting room but was referred to an emergency vet clinic because the schedule was full for the day and they didn't have any appointments until June. I didn't need an emergency clinic and I definitely don't need the high bills that come with it for something non-life threatening. I'm used to clinics having appointment slots set aside for such common occasions so I was super shocked to get turned away, especially from an empty facility.
