My checking and test was fast. Was sent here from Eureka for diagnostic imaging because they had the first available appointment (a month later) given that the schedule out past two weeks was not available in Eureka. Arrived on time to one space left in the lot closest to the main entrance and was given a number which was called within a minute. I was sent to desk 3 to check in but since I did that online, it only took a minute to confirm my identity and status, so I was sent to the waiting corner. My name was called within a minute and guided to an exam room for the imaging. Everyone was nice to me. Afterward I had lunch at the little cafe where I ate chicken teriyaki with chow mien, rice and pot stickers which was very good for ten bucks. No waiting for how fresh food

The nurses were terrific but the doctor was a real piece of work, my God she was unbelievable I hope she's just passing through for the sake of other patients. The ambulance came with three attendants. Three were wonderful but one Hispanic (?) young with a hat was a real piece of. Never met him, don't know him. I'm ill. He was not even attending to me because the two others were. Just a natural born piece of work I suppose.

Let me start at the very beginning November 3rd happened to be my birthday. Let me go back around 24 years ago you will see why. My husband was having a tough time breathing. I thought the closest hospital near us was redwood memorial hospital in fortuna ca. I was glad to see one person in ER we both thanked the lord he was seen right away and admitted into the hospital doctors were kind and very great trying to figure out why and ran tests and started treatments thank God . But there expertise would shadow what would eventually turn to horror and shock, 24 year's ago I worked as a cna at seaview Rehabilitation eureka ca, I can write a book on the care,neglect and bullied by nurses and d.o.n. director of nurses towards the elderly patients hiding their call light so patient could stop calling, me running to help a lady off the floor to her wheelchair thinking she fell off, to have a rude nurse that looked like misses santa claus stop me, saying leave her alone, if she wants to leave she has to leave without the wheelchair chair, i was shocked. So so sorry lady who had to have passed away by now.anyways you might think what does seaview Rehabilitation in eureka ca have to do with redwood memorial hospital, well on 3rd day all was okay until low and behold. Nurse that was assigned to us, was one of those horrible nurses that I had worked with 20 + years ago. I was polite said hi and said it's been over. 20 years you haven't aged. Part one of 3 ...horrible evil nurses at redwood memorial hospital November 6 2024...part two of horrible nurses at redwood memorial. Let me clear up before i continue that our doctors were amazing but, despite how professional and caring, would only shadow how the nurses on the noc shift 7pm to 7am was a living hell, why it didn't have to get so ugly. I will continue our horrible experience at redwood memorial hospital with the nurses from hell, after we file a grievance against the nurses who care less about being professional, patient care, compassion and kindness isn't that part of becoming a nurse, these nurses were pure evil, uncompassionate, horrible, lying and ugliness insects I have ever came across. I will continue our story and experience soon.

Avoid this hospital and all other hospitals in the Providence network like the plague. I took my 13 month old daughter to the emergency room at Redwood Memorial with a 104° fever that had been persisting for 2 days. We thought it might be teething, but it wasn’t going away so we went to the hospital. When we got there, the attending intake nurse was rude and dismissive. She stated that it was impossible for our daughter to have that high of a fever and not be having seizures, so she instantly did not believe us and set the tone. We had given her Tylenol so the fever had come down a few degrees. After spending several hours in our room and dealing with the on-call doctor, they deemed that she was “fine”and we should be on our way. They told us to “monitor it“. The next day we flew home. When we landed, we knew something seriously was wrong with our daughter. So we took her to the emergency room where we live. She was a very sick child. She had: Adenovirus, an ear infection, a urinary tract infection, a swollen kidney and Covid! None of which Redwood Memorial Hospital and the Providence Hospital system recognized. She was so sick she was admitted to the hospital for three days and was on IV antibiotics. Luckily, with competent healthcare, we were able to go home. Once the billing cycle caught up to me, I was given a $1700 bill.(my portion) I contested This because it’s ludicrous to pay that kind of money for “care” when it borders on malpractice. Providence did a secondary review and found nothing wrong with the care they gave my daughter. Providence and Redwood Memorial Hospital should be ashamed of themselves. So much for the Hippocratic oath. If you are in Humboldt County, you would be better off going to Phelps Hospital in Garberville and take your chances there then to deal with the incompetence at Redwood Memorial.

Received misdiagnosis and had to go back after condition worsened and I was in some of the worst pain of my life. Called them several times to get a prescription sent over and was fought every step of the way. Had my mom help me and the lady got mad saying “Your daughter is a grown woman she can handle this herself” and getting incredibly rude with my mom, when my mom was only trying to ensure I got my medication. Just not a great experience at all, and similar to what a lot of other people said, you’re bound to sit in the emergency room for hours before being seen. When I came back the second time my pain level was at a 9 (I have a fairly high pain tolerance), and I wasn’t seen for almost 3 hours. Don’t go here if you don’t have to.

Staff at Redwood has been exceptional. Dr. Kennedy is the best surgeon I’ve dad … and that’s saying a lot. Her bedside manner with professionalism and topping it off with excellent surgical skills. Who could possibly not love this doctor.

Giving birth here was a miserable experience. The staff thought it would be okay to belittle me because I needed a necessary cesarean. It came out in the end they didn't have a Dr that performed them and claimed to be the #1 hospital in the area for low amounts of cesareans, so giving me my cesarean would have messed with their average I still needed the procedure! And got it done HOURS later. They pumped me full of fentanyl and when I couldn't produce milk I was belittle for not being able to and refusing to help me with formula until I lost it on the staff. I had to listen to my infant scream while I could only produce drops of milk. No wonder I got postpartum. This is a horrible place to give birth to a child.
