Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!
From the moment I stepped in, the team met with excitement and enthusiasm. I had already been speaking with Dom, so he assisted me in seeing the puppy I wanted to see. He made sure everything was clean and perfect for our first met. Fortunately, I fell in love with the puppy almost on sight. Other team members like JT assisted in my shopping needs and got me everything I’ll need for home. Harper was also a great assistant in helping me load up. I recommend this location, you won’t regret it. The team is constantly cleaning and making sure things are right, you can tell the staff is orderly and know exactly what they are doing.
Thank you all so much! Also they also send the puppies home with bows, it’s toooooo cute!

Less than one would be better.......LET THE BUYER BEWARE. They are selling $3500 Mutts. Get something in writing that says if your dog is NOT what they told you, you can get your money back. We love our little girl but she is certainly NOT a Corgi as we were promised

Went to this place a lot to get feeder insects for my 2 bearded dragons. I lost my female dragon in September of 2024 and she was 265 grams when she passed away. We were specifically looking for a female no younger than 6 months old and at least 150 grams. We had gone in beginning of October and they had 2 bearded dragons who were too young to be sexed. I left my name and phone number and we went looking at 8 different places and all they had were babies and they didn't know what sex they were. We got scammed by 2 different breeders on Morph Market and probably was getting ready to get scammed again and boom my phone rings and it's Petland telling me that 1 of their 2 dragons were a female we went and she immediately took to my wife and stayed on my wife's shirt until we got home. The female we got was more than perfect for us. She is 6 months old is a very good eater and is super healthy weighing in at 242 grams she is almost as big as our male who is fully grown. Regardless of the negativity of people warning not to buy reptiles from a pet store I tell you what if we need another dragon we will be going there for sure. When the other stores had 25 to 50 babies in a tank and they are nipping each other not good. Petland raises 2 to 3 dragons at a time from egg until they sell so they are treated like royalty compared to other pet stores and probably most breeders. Will definitely always be a loyal customer to Petland in Fenton.

Adorable puppies 🐶 workers were helpful. The fish 🐠 guy was helpful explaining many different fish to my little kiddo. They get their puppies from reputable breeders. My friend in Florida actually sells some of his pups to Petland…. That’s why we decided to go here. We didn’t get a puppy today but did get some puppy supplies - the tall manger / general manager maybe Dustin?! Anyways he was super helpful picking out puppy teether. The lady on the sales side that has 5-6 poodles fur babies of her own was super helpful and friendly - she wears glasses and has curly brown hair lol didn’t get anyone’s name. Thanks 😊🐶❤️

*BEWARE PETLAND FENTON CROSSING PARVO OUTBREAK*
My daughter and her boyfriend purchased an 8-week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi on 7/6/24 at Petland Fenton Crossing in Fenton, MO. After three days their puppy, Dixie, started coughing, wouldn’t eat, horrible runny nose, diarrhea, and vomitting. They took their puppy to the Petland approved veterinarian where Dixie was diagnosed with Parvo and Pneumonia. After 8 days of hospitalization, 4 antibiotics, 2 plasma transfusions, IV fluids, syringe feeding, and constant care, she developed anemia and slowly declined. Fluid filled her lungs constraining her breathing, no appetite causing her to fall below 4 lbs, core body temperature declining below 95 degrees, her PVC dropped to 10 (normal is 80), and so many other issues that the decision to euthanize had to be made today.

Insurance through Petland will pay for the vet bill, but that’s not enough for the pain and suffering of the family and the pet. Unfortunately we did our research on their inhumane practices too late. Petland said Dixie was sent to them almost a week ago from a breeder in Indiana. Per the veterinarian, Dixie contracted Parvo prior to adoption and unknowing to my daughter and her boyfriend as it was still in incubation period.

We notified Petland Fenton Crossing once Dixie was hospitalized. I seriously doubt they sanitized or notified other families who adopted puppies at the same time of a Parvo outbreak. I worry about the puppies currently waiting to be adopted. We have filed complaints with Better Business Bureau and the Missouri Department of Argriculture. Please share this post so other loving families don’t experience the same pain watching their new family member suffer and so facilities like Petland close their doors.

Thank you!

Here is some of the background of their operation from a former Petland Veterinary Technician:

Disease runs rampant in puppy mills, and most of the puppies are sick upon their arrival at Petland Stores, those who are not soon will be. Their diseases are highly contagious and are transmitted through airborne contamination. The sick puppies contaminate the others in transport and while housed at Petland. Petland knows they are all sick and they try to sell them quickly before signs of illness become readily apparent, during the incubation period of their diseases between when they are exposed and when they show symptoms which is approximately 7-10 days.

Petland is the only remaining national chain of pet stores to sell puppy mill puppies and they single handedly keep puppy mills in operation.

People think they are "saving" a puppy from pet store life when they buy a puppy from Petland, but they are not saving anyone. They are simply creating a space in a cage to be filled by another puppy mill puppy. For every $1200 on puppy sales, Petland buys 5-10 more puppies to suffer in the place of the one that was purchased. As long as there are people to buy these puppies, the mills will continue to produce them.

Many Petland locations are franchised, however, the Petland corporation maintains strict control over the operations of every store through their franchise contacts because they have a financial interest in the the revenue of each store, 4.5% a week to be exact. Corporate dictates from where the stores source their puppies. Store owners can only choose from a group of "approved suppliers", all of which are puppy mills. Many of these puppy mills are in Indiana.

Their sales staff are comprised of young, easily manipulated, inexperienced, money driven employeess in their late teens to early twenties. Their income is commission based and once they get a taste of the kind of money they can make, they will tell whatever lies they have to make a sale.

Great time at Petland, I took the opportunity to hold a gorgeous conure and a super cool bearded dragon. They do sell dogs which I realize can be controversial but I saw nothing that caused me any personal concern. That said I do fully support choosing a rescue option.
Their fish department is well stocked as is the rest of the store, it a fun environment and the staff was kind and gracious.

I recently visited Petland Fenton and I was left in shock after seeing their extremely high prices. While I understand pets can be expensive, as well as their care, warranties and supplies, but the markup here is just simply outrageous. The prices on their puppies are through the roof, I spent time and was hopeful to purchase a puppy which has been there for 35 days and they wanted $3,400 for it (a $200 markdown because “he has been there for a long time”… $200, wow). Thousands of dollars for breeds that are available for far less at reputable breeders or shelters. Petland markets that you are “adopting” these animals, however, their fees are nothing comparable to that of an adoption—it’s a scam and they put on a front to appear as a ethical decision, empathetic of their animals lives and progressive in their ways. They seem more focused on making an obscene amount of profit rather than giving pets a life in good, caring homes. I personally wouldn't recommend this place unless you're prepared to spend way more than necessary—there are far better, more reasonable and ethical options out there. My heart hurts for the animals in their care… dogs are treated as merchandise rather than a living-creature. The focus is on maximizing profit, not on the well-being of their animals.
