My experience at this animal hospital has been nothing short of terrible. I chose this place because of its decent ratings and proximity to my home, but after multiple negative experiences, I’m completely done with them.

During my first visit for my puppy's wellness check, I brought in some research about his food, hoping for helpful advice. Instead, the vet scoffed at my inquiries and arrogantly claimed that her credentials made her perspective superior to anything I found online. It was incredibly condescending, especially since I was seeking guidance, not a lecture. Although I thought she provided decent care that day, the attitude was off-putting.

A few weeks later, I discovered worms in my dog’s stool and brought a sample in for testing. They wouldn't prescribe treatment without lab confirmation, and to my disbelief, the initial test came back negative. When I insisted they recheck it, they eventually confirmed my dog had worms. Why did I have to pay $100 for them to validate what I already knew?

Finally, I brought my pet in for a wellness exam ahead of his neutering. They claimed he needed blood work but failed to draw his blood during the visit. Instead, they sent us home with calming medication and scheduled another appointment for the blood work. At this point, I was fed up with the incompetence.

I decided to take my dog to Tree House Wellness Center instead, and what a relief that was! The staff there was friendly and informative. When I picked up my dog, he had received all his vaccines, was neutered, and was much happier overall. To top it off, the cost was significantly lower than what I experienced at this hospital. It's clear to me that not all animal hospitals operate the same way, and I won’t be returning to this one.

I brought my geriatric, ailing pup to Oz Animal Hospital (Lincoln Park) today and I cannot say enough about the lengths this staff went in order to help my sweet pup. Katie, Dr. Stogioglou, and the entire staff went above and beyond to provide the absolute best care possible and I will never, ever be able to thank them enough for that. I’m forever in their debt. THIS is the hospital to visit for kindness, compassion, and incredibly helpful and informed clinical opinions. Thank you. 🙏

We were patients here for 8 years, since my cats were 8 weeks old. The first few years were fine, albeit expensive. We would come in for our annual check ups and vaccines, and everything was pretty routine. When my cat got sick was when we started experiencing issues. They are simply not equipped to handle sick patients. They completely mishandled my cat’s diagnosis from the very beginning, they lack basic communication, you will never see the same doctor twice, they will constantly refer you to the emergency vet because they are too booked, they will not be able to prescribe basic medications because they don’t carry them in their in house pharmacy, and frankly they do not care about their patients health and well being; they are simply there to collect your money. I am posting photo examples of me trying to get a call from the doctor over the course of several days and never receiving one. This is only one of numerous examples we experienced throughout the past year and a half. I continued to go here because my cat was comfortable here, but now that she has passed away, I will never return and I do not recommend anyone take their pet here. They do not care about your animals.

We bring both our pets here and love Dr. Katz and all the techs! Everyone is thorough and seems to genuinely care about our animals. The texting feature is very helpful to get appts set up.

The staff here is incredible. They do all they can to keep your pet comfortable, especially if they get nervous going to the vet. Typically they have availability quickly and are responsive to phone messages too!

I recently switched to Oz after having a horrible experience at another chicago vet chain. I have a reactive rescue and he was given love and kindness during his care! The team really connected with him and me, making sure all my questions were answered and his screenings were completed. Really night and day compared to the other vet. We’ve had 2 follow up visits and he doesn’t even seem scared to go in, which is the opposite of his previous vet.
