I was hit, dragged and trapped under a small school bus. I spent a few weeks in the hospital before being moved to Orzac. My family chose it solely based on pt as we heard the staff is great. I was extremely worried, but I have to say Johny (yes only one n) is such a phenomenal person. He pushed me in the best ways possible and truly cared about my well being. He helped with my mental support when I was really struggling. He made sure I had good support at home and even helped teach my family how to assist me when doing certain things. He even told my family they could contact him if they needed further help understanding anything. Johny, thank you so much. You will forever be apart of my journey. God Bless.

The nurses and cna’s are top shelf. Compassionate, caring, and kind.
The facility is very clean. Every day my room and bathroom were cleaned.
The food? I was blown away at how good the food was nothing like hospital food.
The Physical and occupational therapists were very thorough Got me back in shape in no time. I highly recommend.

It makes me sad that an environment/facility that is developed to care for the elderly and provide a safe and supportive environment has a culture of ignoring the needs of patients and providing substandard daily care. The physical care on the nursing floor was well below what anyone would consider basic expectations of hygiene let alone demonstrating empathy or respect for patients as people (0 stars). Daily without check-ins from family patients are in bed without support, attention or simple care leading to infections, decreased communication etc. Sadly, lots of patients do not have family that can sustain this necessary level of supervision of the staff. My family often advocates for the other patients in our mother room because our parents taught us to care for others, so even when life is hard. Let alone when it is your chosen profession.

As a polar opposite to the care patients receive on the 2nd floor. The Physical therapist, Occupational Therapist and the receptionist in the clinic provided care that was compassionate, and empathetic all while being encouraging. When you entered this area patients felt supported and energized to complete the therapy. I thank them for interacting with my mother in a way that communicates that she was valued (5 stars).

I cannot praise this facility and the staff enough. I had major back surgery next door at LIJ Valley Stream, so I figured it made more sense to complete my rehab next door at Orzac. After 6 days in the hospital, I was transferred to Orzac. I was in pain and cranky, but they understood. They made me as comfortable as possible by providing me with ice packs, my medications, including pain medications, and their words of encouragement with smiles and a positive attitude.
The staff tries to help and accommodate you as much as possible, even with food orders. At first, I had a not so great experience with the food, but when calling in my orders or the kitchen rep came to take my orders, it was usually 95% accurate. I find this great considering they handle not just Orzac, but the hospital as well! So, a little patience goes a long way.
I spent a little over 2 weeks in Orzac. As of day 2, the occupational therapist and the physical therapist had me doing things I never would've tried if I went straight home from the hospital. They are all caring, driven and optimistic, and they treat you as though you are their loved one.
I'd like to give credit where credit is due and mention names of those who were a part of my care and were downright amazing. I don't remember everyone's name, but I'll try because EVERYONE I came into contact with was a key to my recovery--

Dr. Singh
Nurses- Jackie, Karimi (spelling?), Brenda, Chie and more, forgive me as I don't remember all of your names!
CNAs- Sherley, Elcy, Paradise, Marie, Owen, Antonio and again, more, please forgive me.
OTs- Leah, Diana, Rachel, and one more whose name I can't remember.
PTs- Roma, especially as she was my usual pt, but Vidal also took care of me on days she was on vacation, and he was amazing as well.
Transporters- Dante, Maxine, and also a few more whose names I cannot remember.
Thank you to ALL of those at Orzac who helped me with my recovery, even if you popped in once, you're all incredible, compassionate and professional people. Thank you!

Very compassionate nurses and CNA’s! I was in for my second knee replacement and found this facility to be extremely clean and everyone on staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I especially want to thank my nurses that cared for me during my stay, Precious, Jodie, Betty, and many others that were so empathetic to my situation. My wonderful CNA’s that were so attentive to my every need, Kemesha, Mrs. Symon, Maxine, and many others that worked as a team to get me through. PT and OT were phenomenal! Thanks to all of you!!!!

Fast Food

Do not let this place take care of your loved one. My father in-law was in this facility and we had to discharge him early because the care he received was horrible. He got a bed sore because the staff was not using the proven methods for prevention. There was no consistency in staff. Every day there was a different person “taking care” of my father in-law. One time he laid in his feces for hours before someone finally cleaned him. We only chose this place because the next nearest facility was 45 minutes away and we wanted him to be close to us. Hopefully he will never need a rehabilitation facility again but if so we definitely will not be choosing this facility.

This place is the worst the doctor that took care of my father Dr.Bulsara refused to complete flma forms. Then when he finally decided to complete the form it was incomplete. My job refused it. They didn’t even get my father a follow-up appointment. I wouldn’t send my enemy there. They only called when they needed approval for a ct cause they let him fall 3 times. I feel it was intentional and had racist undertones.

Great experience here with a loved one. She was in the Rehab center and everyone was attentive and accommodating. The nurses were extremely nice and the social worker was a pleasure to communicate with. I would highly recommend.
