I found the staff at Northgate to be very friendly and VERY accommodating. My six-year-old Staffordshire needed 'ASAP' surgery and my vet was not available. My vet referred her vet which is Northgate. The Dr. Luke was wonderful I know Lyzzah felt safe. We are home resting.

Northgate is clean, modernized, and streamlined. Everyone who works there has been fantastic. I don't have a pet myself but have brought in my parents' dog for them on a couple of occasions. My wife and I were treated very well by all the staff, the Veterinarians and assistants always seem very knowledgable and good with the animals, and they get you in and out with ease. Before you know it, you're leaving with a detailed report and anything you needed in hand. Amy Edgar (veterinarian) in particular is great and very proactive about following up after bringing your pet in, which is really nice.

Our family has been using Northgate for our pets for 20 years. They are always so helpful, kind to us and our pets, and have very accommodating hours. They’re great for nail trims, check ups, and emergencies. We find that you get what you pay for, and they take good care of us.

I love this place for my baby! Dr. Kennedy is so sweet and always an email away. Mo grooms cocoa and always does an amazing job. Their paw plans are super affordable and the staff is great. I highly recommend checking them out for your fur babies 💜

I’m with a rescue and called to inquire as to how to request to be brought on a rescue client during covid. The receptionist talked to someone and then came back and told me to write up a bio about my rescue and myself and email it (she gave me the email) to the managing vet and office manager with the request. I did just that as soon as I got off the phone and told them about fostering, own personal dogs that of course follow me to whatever clinic takes on my fosters. I spent over $50,000 on my personal dog with cancer so I’m not a cheap client. This phone call and email request was sent on 1/27/21. It’s now a month later on 2/26/21 and the 1 star is because they’ve never even replied to my email. If they were going to deny me as a rescue client, they could have at least been decent enough to write back after I wrote up a bio and request and even stated in there I was looking to get my current foster seen soon, as she had recently been to a cardiologist for severe heart issues and needed continuous monitoring. This non-responsiveness is what I see from so many clinics and is a huge red flag. I would never take my babies somewhere that doesn’t even give the decency of a response. Hence the reason I’m leaving my current vets practice after 20 years as a client - can’t get him to even remember why my dog is there and I’ve been a client for 20 years. This place gives me the same red flags so I would never go there now even if they agreed to see us.

Northgate has served as my veterinary clinic of choice as long as I can remember (back when it was Douglas Small Animal Hospital, before it was in the current building, even!). My family has taken multiple generations of dogs and cats to the friendly, capable veterinarians employed by this business, and never experienced any issues. The staff is approachable, helpful, and professional. They are also quite welcoming and more than willing to go into as much detail as you would like regarding any type of treatment or procedure your pet may be undergoing. In addition to everyday veterinary medicine, they also offer training classes for dogs of all ages and provide both
On site and housecall grooming services at a reasonable price. Groomer and trainer are just as competent and easily accessable as the rest of the staff.
