Staff at Newberry Animal Hospital are always kind and helpful. The Doctors are knowledgeable and thorough. Even though it's a far drive for my cat Sophie and I, it is worth it knowing that she will receive excellent care.

Our pets have been patients at Newberry Animal Hospital for many years, and we have no issue with the medical care. Our previous boarding experiences have been wonderful as well. However, after not boarding a dog there in three years, as our lab passed away, we started boarding our 5 month old recently. Our dog is completely potty trained. The first time we picked her up she smelled like rotten shrimp, and was sticky. It was obviously urine. We even paid extra for extra walks/play time. She stayed Friday night - Monday morning because pick up is not available on Sundays. This past weekend she stayed Friday night - Monday morning again, and again smelled like rotten shrimp, and was sticky. I asked if she peed herself, and was assured it was water from being outside. I was then told she did not pee on her walk. She didn't pee because she peed in her kennel and was allowed to lay in it. The clinic offered to bathe her, but I didn't have time to wait. I bathed her at home. When I spoke with reception they suggested that maybe this may not be the right place for our dog as she can't hold her bladder. Our dog can go 4 -5 hours, or more between breaks. Reception also informed me that on Sundays they only walk the dogs for potty breaks in the morning and then at night. NO DOG, regardless of age should be expected to go all day without a potty break. The site says 3 walks a day. There are no options to pick up on Sunday, which we understand, but paying full price for Sunday I expect they take our pets out 3 times a day so they aren't sitting in their own filth.
I don't know what has changed. But, our previous experience with our first dog was absolutely wonderful. We will not be boarding our dog here again.

I had to put two of my fur babies to sleep within a year. The entire staff was patient, kind, compassionate, and did their best to make my cats transition to the other side comfortable.

A month later the staff sent a sympathy card with hand written messages by the entire staff. Saying goodbye to my fur babies has been one of the most painful experiences of my life, but Newberry animal hospital understood this and did their best to support my pets and I. I am forever grateful for their care and compassion.

Newberry animal hospital goes above and beyond to make everything great. The staff is really friendly and very helpful. We have been taking our cats and dogs there for 2 years and each time the service is great.

First off the employees are very polite and respectful and seem to care about the needs of your animal but the prices are way too high! My dog had to have a mass removed on his throat area which was done by Dr. Wendy Biggs at Cares Affordable vet clinic which thankfully turned out to be just a huge chunk of fatty lipoma and then it was sutured back up with dissolvable sutures. This was done on Nov 1st, on the following Wednesday somehow he managed to bust his incision open and unfortunately Dr. Biggs was out of town so we didn’t have too many choices and since we live right around the corner from Newberry Animal Vet we took him there (after calling several other places as well) So they hand me an estimate with the lowest and the highest price both prices were 2-3 times more than the original surgery. They told me they would try very hard to keep it at the lowest . I also had to pay 50% of the highest price before they would do anything and wouldn’t you know it when we go to pick him up we had to pay the other 50% of the HIGHEST price (3 times more than the actual lipoma removal surgery ) also all his sutures were dissolvable except for one ?!? Totally ridiculous! I will take my dog to Windy to have that removed for sure. Save your money and go to Windy Biggs she is awesome and affordable.

Absolutely magnificent! The staff is kind, Dr McCormick is knowledgeable and patient, and the environment is clean and welcoming. I've recently moved to the area and have a senior dog with a few health issues - Newberry Animal Hospital welcomed my pup Poe and I with open arms! Dr McCormick was so sweet, even when delivering bad news, and took the extra time to explain next steps and treatment plans. So glad I found this location and will definitely make this our primary clinic moving forward!
