PLEASE READ I posted a very emotional review yesterday after a less than traumatic experience, my dog and I had at this establishment. I decided to take that post down and post something more educational for the public to read about Mystic Paws. Also, because I received a response from Mystic Paws last night, (after my post) that was full of untruthful content, (even about the time I picked him up) I thought I would post evidence and pictures that I had taken so that the truth and proof is in the pictures. I have been taking my husky to Mystic Paws for nearly 5 years. In those five years my husky has been properly groomed maybe a total of five times. I will get to my proof of that later in this review. Properly groomed and what I’m supposed to be paying for is nails cut, coat trimmed, bathed and brushed. Through the years the amount has gone almost triple what I was paying in the beginning and the completion of his grooming got less and less. The excuses I would get from the owner was, we didn’t get to his nails, we were unable to cut his backside, etc etc. It was always something about my husky that they were unable to perform the complete groom. And yet get charged full price every time. (So when I get told the total I would be surprised it would be over $100) Then I would be told that my husky is very difficult or he was just not having it. When I picked up my husky yesterday, Jennifer, the owner, came out and said, “so we were only able to get him half done.” Then proceeded to tell me that it was a full charge $110. I asked her if he’s only half done why would you charge me full price and she said because they used all of their products on him and spent time on him so it was full price. Of course, I had a problem writing the check, but I knew as I was writing that check that this would be the last time that I booked with Mystic Paws because clearly I was being overcharged.. So I had already made the decision not to reschedule. Then Jennifer the owner brought my husky out with no collar and no leash on him into the front room where the front door was. Basically, no way to control him. I had brought him in with his collar and with his leash on, but he was not brought back to me the same way. Which makes it a risk for other animals walking into that establishment for a potential fight. Moments later, a woman with her small dog, entered the facility and my husky immediately went towards her and her dog. Luckily, he did not do anything to the other dog, but then proceeded to exit the door. If all of you, know (huskies) a lot of them are runners and mine is one of those, so my husky proceeded to run down Kimberly Road risking getting hit by traffic. It was nearly 12 o’clock around lunchtime so it was packed with traffic. I proceeded to run out the door after my husky after about 10 minutes of trying to capture him, I managed to capture him. Later on that day, I got in contact with another groomer. I took my husky to that groomer. They did a meet & greet and within 30 minutes my husky was completely groomed, trimmed, nails cut, feet & toes trimmed, ears cleaned, backside & legs trimmed and brushed out, and best thing he was HAPPY!!! The Groomer allowed me to watch everything she did with my husky. That has never been my experience with Mystic Paws. They have never allowed me to watch what they do with my pet. At Mystic Paws, there are no windows to see in and everything is behind closed doors. The new groomer did state to me that he was not properly washed. She said not only was his coat not groomed, but it was matted and he did not smell clean. You can see the pictures below. Take your pets there at your own risk. Little did I know for 5 years I was getting a half done job. I’m glad I have a much better groomer for Him. He can now run on our hardwood floors without slipping because his nails have finally been cut (with no problem) after 5 years. (First 3 pics are his grooming yesterday morning after the chaos @Mystic Paws, time stamped, 2 last pics are his grooming done yesterday after his new groomer)
