I would give it a 4 but the prices are a little to much, as I’m a disabled fur mommy who loves her fur son n will always take care of him. Would love to have payment plans so I can go to the vets often. Love my dogs vet n the nurse she had in on Saturday. Hayden loves her

Our precious Chelsea was misdiagnosed two days in a row by Dr David.

So he said it was a GI problem the first day from the pup cake I gave her. Did bloodwork to test her pancreas and her bloodwork was perfect. (She was wheezing terribly. But she had collapsing trachea from just age and being a toy breed but we had that under control with meds.) he said that’s why she’s wheezing and he didn’t hear anything wrong with her lungs. Sent us home with prescription food and sedated her to make her more comfortable and hoped that the rest would fix her “GI problem”. She would not eat at all and when she came out of the sedation she was wheezing worse and so they told us to give her pain meds. Went and got them and had to force feed them to our precious girl as she was not eating at all.

Over night was worse. Took her 1st thing the next morning. They finally did chest X-rays and him and another “dr” looked and saw “something” but they weren’t sure what. Wanted to start her on a broad spectrum antibiotic in case it was aspiration pneumonia. Dr David said that because she was drinking fluids that they wouldn’t have to “keep her there” and sent us back home. However, the pills had to be given with food. She wasn’t eating. And now (fast forward a few hours) she was just sitting in the corner drooling and wheezing terribly. Called them again and spoke to a VERY unpleasant woman. I was in a panic and explained everything that was going on. She “spoke to the doctor” and they said that she “might need to be hospitalized, but they don’t do that here”. (Whomever that was most definitely needs to receive sensitivity training, or should perhaps not work with the public.)

We rushed her straight to the er vet and they knew right away it was aspiration pneumonia. They seemed so hopeful that putting her in the oxygen chamber and giving her iv antibiotics would fix her right up because though she was 13 she was in such good health. But her poor lungs were already so damaged that she just got worse and worse. Even at 50% pure oxygen she couldn’t breathe, her little tongue was turning purple and they were about to intubate her when I pullled up the next morning. Within an hour or two we had to say enough.

If she was treated properly by these money hungry people at Millbrook she may very well still be here. If Dr David was not “sleep deprived” as he told me during the initial checkup maybe it would have made a difference in her diagnosis.

If you are reading this I hope you know that you single handedly broke our hearts.

In response to their response….. No “director” has made any attempt to reach out to us. And I firmly do not believe that she received proper care. Treating for a GI issue when a dog is wheezing and struggling to breathe does not sound like it’s “by the books” to me.

The icing on the cake is that they had the audacity to send a card addressed only to my husband (the nice, understanding member of the family). Thank you for that final slap in the face.

I’d gotten care from Millbrook previously. Last year, my cat, Benson, got very ill and it was due to bladder stones that had to be surgically removed. It happened on a weekend and they weren’t able to help us themselves, but the staff at Millbrook went above and beyond helped us get emergency care at one of their sister locations. They took care of all the communication and also sent over his records to expedite the process. I’ve moved further away and still make the drive for both Benson and my new dog to receive care here after how they helped us with Benson.

Saints. They are all saints. The doctors are brimming with compassion and their administrative staff is efficient, patient, and attentive.

I take my dog to see Dr. David after being recommended to him by numerous people. He provides a collaborative experience and cares about not only your fur child - he has compassion for your sanity as a pet parent and advocates strongly for every member of his team.

If all of our besties could be Dr. David, the world would be a better place.

Our 9 year old Shiba/Beagle mix tore her ACL in February 2024. She had surgery to repair her tear at Millbrook in March. She recovered well and continued with therapy for the next five months. We were nervous that she would never be the same, but she is healthy, happy and not hopping on three legs anymore. Thank you for all you did for Kolby and all your other fur patients you guys take care of!! Great place to bring your family dog!!
