We had a fantastic experience adopting our new family member, Paris, from Metro East Humane Society! The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to the well-being of the animals in their care. They made the process smooth and enjoyable, ensuring that Paris was the perfect fit for our family. We are especially grateful to her foster family, who gave her such a loving start and provided helpful insights about her personality and needs. Their care made the transition even easier. We highly recommend MEHS to anyone looking to adopt a wonderful companion!

My first adoption was great but my second experience wasn’t as great. The dog was sick and very skinny. The kitten had fleas. When I got home about three hours later the dog had snot coming out from his nose and he was having a slight problem with breathing. I called them to let them know but never received a call back. I nursed the dog back with warmth and affection and food. He is recovering. He should have never been up for adoption until he had some meat on his bones and was healthy.

Did a drive adventure with Feta a toy terrier. He was so well-behaved and followed me everywhere. He got a DQ pup cup, which he enjoyed immensely. Had a nice 1 1/2 hours with him.
He and his mate need a home, Brie.

I filled out an application online to adopt an animal. I was pleasantly surprised of how fast they called back. I spoke with a lady named Katy she was very professional. She was patient working with me to find a match. Her love for animals was very impressive. 10/10 love this facility.

This place is amazing!! The people that attend to these animals are the most gentle and caring individuals! My beloved dog of 13 years recently passed and I felt this overwhelming need to fill that hole in my heart. When I arrived that day the gentleman that assisted us was truly wonderful and we met the most amazing dog who came home with us that very same day. Amazingly he has been potty trained previously because we have had no accidents, he is wonderful with children, he is the biggest lap dog I have ever met and we are totally in love! He is now living his best doggie life and I am so grateful to the Metro East Humane Society for being there when I really needed them!

Terrible experience the girls that work there were not happy the way my 3 year old and 1 year old were playing and laughing with the cat we were thinking about adopting. They said they worried about the safety of cat and were very judgmental and obviously have never seen kids laugh and play. Would not adopt from these people. They said the cat was hiding, and that’s a sign it’s scared. it was hiding and then jumping out playing?

Edwardsville CEO had the chance to visit the Metro East Humane Society. It was such a fun visit, and as well we got the chance to play with some of their puppies! We all had a fun time and the people we talked to were so nice and really enjoyed their job.
