Hard-working team dedicated to helping animals and reuniting lost pets with owners. They've assisted me with four feral/stray/lost cats by loaning me a trap and providing them a safe haven. Thank you MCAC!

We had the most wonderful experience at animal control and adopted the BEST CAT. They made the process so quick and seamless. It was very inexpensive (about $20), and she already had all of her shots, registration, spayed, chipped, etc. She is a sweetheart and we will definitely adopt future cats from animal control.

Update!!! Adopted the best dog in the whole world after being Dogless for 2 years. Dog dragged my goat off to kill it. Then continuously chased and slashed at my horses legs thru fence. Then dragged me down in yard by locking on my hamstring. Last straw. 25 year old young lady was petting him and he wanted in her lap. She let him. And then he tried to bite her in the face. Her whole face. Returned him and advised the grumpy chunky 50ish lady that he was not a candidate for rehoming. I bent to say goodbye to him and she dragged him with a rope thru the door. I said hey I wanted to say goodbye. She snarled I just did. Less than 4 days later, dog up for adoption again. Different name. Same dog. ( I kept this dog almost 4 months. Taught him all hand signals. And commands in a foreign language. My first dog I had 13 years. Next dog, 14 years. Trained dogs and horses with hand commands for the last 25 years). This dog is a killer of anything living. Please listen to this story and buyer beware. PS. The young man who works there is spectacular.

So patient and kind with the animals. They really want what's best for these fur babies. Please shop rescue shelters and kill shelters first. These creatures deserve a 2nd chance!

City of Bloomington! State of Illinois - you’re on notice. April 12 2023. A friend of ours received a tip from a concerned insider that this place receives stolen dogs and then sells them for profit - and further informed her that her missing/stolen dog is a victim and also provided photo proof! The director of the shelter is ignoring calls, and refusing to let them in to see the dog in question. A quick search reveals that this place has a history of this. Who is in charge here? Where is the Attorney General’s office on this

it is incredibly difficult to get ahold of this business. i’ve called several times over the course of several days (during business hours) and even left a voicemail and have only directly spoken to someone once.

“If I could give 0 stars” IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. do I start with lying about lost dogs in their facility to where you have to threaten police action? Trying to sell rare or akc registered dogs. Or should I start with if the dog doesn’t want to leave the kennel to use the bathroom it doesn’t. What about not scanning lost dogs for microchips? Looking up rabies shots and giving a second and or third rabies shot in a year. The staff do not interact with the animals or work with rehabilitation at all. This place really needs shut down. It’s truly sad.

McLean County is not just Bloomington/Normal. I live outside of town and was a little annoyed that I had to bring in a trapped animal to Normal and meet animal control. This animal bit me and needed to be tested for rabies. Although they had the lab results on Saturday, I had to contact them on Monday to get the results - wondering the whole time if I needed rabies shots. Why not notify me as soon as you get the results? The animal control guy was friendly and helpful, as he met me while I was in town to return my crate. But they need to do a better job at returning test results.
