Dr. McCleery is an amazing veterinarian! We have only been in this area for a little over 2 years and had been using a vet from one of the bigger clinics in Ocala for routine vaccinations and Coggins tests. One of our horses developed an eye ulcer that just didn't seem to be healing well under the treatment of this vet so I wanted a second opinion. I'm so thankful to have found Dr. McCleery. My only regret is that we didn't find her sooner. The eye was too far gone and had to be removed. I truly believe that if Dr. McCleery had been treating the eye from the start he would still have it. She is kind, compassionate, professional, knowledgable, and I can tell that she really cares about her patients. I would recommend her 1000%!

I had to cold call Dr. McCleery for an emergency colic after hours. She responded with an hour for my horse, not knowing me or having established a relationship with her. She treated my horse with kindness, professionalism, and integrity.
I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. McCleery.

I would give Dr McCleery NO stars if I could. I am not sure WHAT happened to her, but she has lost every bit of sense of compassion and heart entirely. She is extremely insensitive and cold stoned towards folks like myself who suffer from Depression and Anxiety, and all she cares about is perfectionism from clients. She doesn't care at all if the client has Depression and Anxiety and Type 2 Diabetes and needs horses in their life to cope with the emotional and physical challenges. It has to be her way or she gets mad about the whole thing, despite your best efforts to keep things going good for your horse. I recently bought a new horse for a routine checkup, after my three other ones have been stolen from me, and she was not the least bit supportive at all. In fact, she was cold and snotty about the whole thing. Only few good things she said but that was it. Her bedside manner towards sensitive clients have gotten way worse over the years and I will NEVER EVER use her again. It killed me when she specifically said "Don't get anymore horses" "two horses is enough" when I NEED horses in my life to cope with Depression, Anxiety, and manage my Type 2 Diabetes. Again, she is very insensitive, doesn't understand I need horses in my life to manage the issues I have, all she cares about is extreme perfectionism and I just can't deal with that. I don't need that and nobody else should either. She is NOT a good vet for those suffering from Depression and Anxiety Disorders at all due to her absent compassion and heart. She may have a lot of knowledge but its pointless if she doesn't have a heart for the human clients too. I am done with her.
