It's a nice clean place to go. The only objection I have is they don't have very many dogs to adopt at a certain time.

I just stopped in there to bring a puppy in and they wouldn’t take him because I found him outside of Los Alamos. I went here a month ago to look for a smaller dog and they don’t have many to adopt. This is probably one of the better areas for animals to be adopted I’d take him but just adopted a smaller dog a month ago from Santa Fe animal shelter. No this isn’t the dog I adopted.

The staff was very rude over the phone and wouldn't believe me about finding a cat in Los Alamos. The cat is clearly domesticated and must belong to someone here. I just wanted to get the cat back to its family or insure it finds a proper home, but the staff kept giving excuses as to why they wouldn't take him since I don't live in Los Alamos and only work here.

In the couple of experiences with the animals shelter I have had, I would describe them as good for sure.

About 14 years ago we had to find homes for 2 of our pups. At the time the help there were a couple of women and I believe a man, none of which I can remember their names sadly. Anyway, they did their utmost to work with me to find homes for the pups. They were also very patient with me as I was going through a difficult time. I probably called every day to make sure that the puppies were okay and to see if they found a home and every day they were kind enough to insure me they were okay and eventually they did find homes down in the Albuquerque area. Hooray! ? Just the best feeling knowing that they had good homes.

Recently one of my two current puppies passed away and I needed a companion for my dog. My kids thought a kitten would be the right choice.. that being said there was a litter with a bunch of cuties at the animal shelter. We went to go take a look and ended up with some cuties. LoL Though we ran into a couple of unforeseen hiccups, which were of no one's fault. Covid happens unfortunately.. and I am ever so grateful that nobody was severely impacted but I am thankful for the services, communication and so much more. We appreciate all you do. Thank you Paul and Officer Hill.

I will forever have a place in my heart for this shelter. When I was indisposed they sheltered my dogs for two weeks. Got to know my dogs and showed them lots of love. They were very well fed, exercised, loved while I was away. I'm so very grateful for the staff at LA County Animal Shelter.

Nice, clean animal shelter we are blessed to have! It doesn't seem to have enough staff, but service was good. The animals seem to all be well taken care of. The pic is one of the dogs currently up for adoption.

We stopped in to look at the animals available. We weren't picking any up to keep, but the staff still showed us the dogs and cats. They spoke with love for the animals as if they were their own. The animals are clearly well cared for. They are even starting up a special enrichment program to keep them happy. If I lived in the area I would happily take one home.

Very pleasant, the officers that work there are extremely nice and helpful... And the dog that I adopted has turned out to be a wonderful wonderful companion. Thumbs up for the Los Alamos animal shelter!
