This review is long overdue. For those reading, please know that my review is based on our experience from over a year ago, so staff changes and upgrades may have taken place since then.

I'm going to be blunt. If you love your family member, don't send them here unless you absolutely have to. I will say we had one good nurse, who I believe was an occupational therapist, and unfortunately I don't remember her name. However, she was stretched incredibly thin which prevented her from being able to do her job as thoroughly as needed. This is not her fault, but the fault of staffing and probably a lack of funding. The rest of the nurses were fine I guess, but none of them are actually focused on rehabilitation. They come in, give a pill or two, check blood pressure, bring food and go away. The fact that they even refer the themselves as a rehabilitation center is actually laughable, because they essentially just served as an adult baby sitting service. They really didn't do anything at all. And worse, a few nurses in particular were absolutely horrible. They would huff and puff every time my father asked for help to use the restroom, one nurse completely forgot about him and left him in his room to wait and wait and wait, and another one threw a fit and told him to just pee in his medical urinal bottle.

The facility itself is run down, smells horrible, is very dingy, and has very little for the patients to do. The rooms are small and many of the rooms do not have anything except a bed. My father was alone, staring at a blank wall for days. I still want to cry when I think about it. He couldn't walk on his own at the time, and no one bothered to help him outside for fresh air or to sit with other people until I came in and did it myself. We had to beg for a TV, and the one we received didn't work. Then we got a new one, and it was so tiny he couldn't even see the screen because his eyes are bad. But it was better than sitting in that old dusty room alone, waiting for me to drive in all the way from Temple to see him (unfortunately I was not the one in charge of where he was located at the time). Look, I get that there's a lack of funding. I understand and empathize with that. But maybe if they cared about their patients they would do more community outreach. Do events. Make requests for donations. Do SOMETHING. Do more, do better.

Please please please if you're reading this, considere donating to this place. TVs, board games, room decorations and art, outdoor activities, anything for the patients to enjoy. Medical equipment would be helpful too (that's another thing, they had limited equipment and the walker my dad received was broken. Wheel chairs were too small). Consider asking a local choir or school to volunteer here or perform here for the patients. I wish I lived in town so I could do more. But what's really sad to me is that whoever runs this place doesn't seem to care at all about doing any of that themselves, like reaching out to the community, to make this place a little less sad and depressing.

Just do your loved ones a favor and find somewhere else to go unless you're desperate.

This does not even deserve a -1 star. Our relative has been in this facility for over 15 years and up to 2 years ago it was fantastic. After Covid it has gone down so fast that it is a revolving door of caregivers and especially staff. Our loved one has been neglected to the point of not being taken out of her bed for days on end to the point of her being moved 2 different times to different rooms and us not being notified of the move. The last move resulted in her custom wheelchair which she has had for over 15 yrs, and it now has disappeared. The excuse they use for not taking her out of her bed was because she did not have a chair. When we ask questions on what has happened to her chair and that they need to find it or buy her another one. They mysteriously call and say they found it. It was not hers at all she is 5’8 and this is small chair with a hard plastic foot brace that they are forcing her left paralyzed leg and foot into. We received a call from her crying in pain because her ankle is killing her and they are forcing her to stay in this wheelchair and will not put her in her recliner. We do a no notice visit to see what is the problem with her ankle pain and let the administrator know of the issue. Upon our visit we could hardly stand to walk through the halls due to the stench coming from every room. We get to our loved ones room to find her in her recliner in her depends that have not been changed since taking her out of bed at 7 am. It is now 3 pm and she has soiled herself, her clothing, and her lap blanket as well as her chair. This was very humiliating to her and she was very upset.
Not only is she being neglected, we also approach a gentleman walking the hallway by the nurses station and he is in filthy socks without shoes and the socks have feces on them. Not one staff member cares.
When you pass the public restroom the smell from that area smells like a backed up sewage system and makes us want to gag. There are flies everywhere.
I can go on and on with more stories regarding how horrible this place is. We were able to find another long term care facility for our loved one and it turns out over a dozen of staff there were once at this nursing facility. They were the one there over 2 yrs ago when things there were good. The really sad thing is there are people having to live in this filth and they may not have family members to look out for them or the families, like us are not notified of changes that are being made and assume that it is still the great facility is once was.
We have reached out to corporate and have had zero response after leaving over 4 messages.
I seriously hope this Senior Living Group will be inspected and major changes made for the remaining residents. Our senior citizens are being abused and neglected and it has to stop.

The worst place I have ever worked at the adman susan and the Don Jaye are horrible leaders both have no idea what they are doing they have harassed employees multiple times they are careless about the residents the environment is awful it feels like a prison not a work place I have sent multiple statements over to hr and nothing has happened I quit because I couldn't bare being there anymore constantly being harassed by the administrator and contradicted by the Don.

Staff treat the resident's like family. So much love is poured into making the resident's happy. For example a resident has a daughter that is graduating high school and the resident cannot go to graduation due to poor health so the staff pulled together to make a private graduation ceremony at the facility so the resident can see her daughter in her cap and gown and the school has agreed to present her diploma.
