My father is a Vietnam Vet and has been at Laurel Brook for about 3 weeks. I value the care they provide my father everyday as well as the rehab to get him mobile and moving! I especially wanted to say how caring and wonderful Luz is in her care of my father. She is outstanding! Whenever she is there my father always smells like baby powder and he is up and awake with a smile as I walk into his room! All the nurses take great care of my Dad but this Nurse is special in her caring technique! The care and pleasant personality of Jessica his Case Worker has been a Godsend! She knows her craft and does it with grace! I recommend this facility due the fact to they return my calls and keep me updated on my fathers status and future plans of care.

PT via Reliant & CNAs Myara, Luce, and Tanisha were great but, most NURSES & N MGR ARE USELESS. within 2 wks at Laurel Brook, Grandmom developed Stage 4 13x12 inch necrotizing pressure wound & UTI, BOTH with gram+ drug resistant e.coli due to feces contamination & not being turned. I brought my concerns to N Mgr Danielle about formation of a wound & why aides were tasked to assess and bandage, which she replied nurses are the only ones who should be dressing the wounds yet she never spoke to anyone to rectify the issue. She DID catch the wound Dr who just happened to be rounding that day (they come once per week from Kane Wound Center) who ordered medicated ointment to be applied during bandage changes. They do not carry bandages large enough so I bought my own supply from Amazon at $5 per bandage along with wound cleanser since they were using tap water with bath towels to wipe it most times (should have been using sterile water or wound wash). Third day after wound Dr ordered medicated ointment and I inquired why the aide come back with manuka honey on the bandage, the nurse on that day Rudely says there are NO orders on file from the wound team. I explained the history and that her manager Danielle told me the Syntac was ordered and had been used the past few days but, she insisted there was nothing on file and actually acted as if I was making this up. I left a mesg for the NMgr Danielle who never returned my call. Same NMgr who ran away when my uncle inquired at the nurses station why Grandmom was screaming out in pain when he arrived (first time Gram showed any signs of pain even after surgery). Nurse on says she spit out the Tylenol. He said did you give her liquid or crushed in applesauce? That is how she has been taking it. She can’t take a whole pill. She said no.

A couple days later I was there for the wound Dr’s second visit who was shocked at the rapid progression of the wound and said the medicated ointment orders were placed by him personally last week. At this point he was concerned infection spread to the bone and WBC skyrocketed indicating infection. We transferred to Virtua Marlton where she required surgical debridement 2 inches deep into her muscle, multiple IV antibiotics which have been changed several times to combat drug resistances. She is now transferred to LTAC Willingboro where care is mostly good but all has taken such a toll on her that she is now not eating and transitioning to palliative care / hospice.

Note: this is the 2nd time we tried Laurel Brook as Reliant PT was great. First stay was also horrible as “Mr. K” was her CNA 6 out of 7 nights. He spend most of his time watching TV on an IPad in the hallway even after we complained multiple times. We had to bring her to the bathroom & clean her up ourselves each evening and if the day aide wasn’t good we would arrive late morning to find her laying in depends overloaded & leaking.
Her roommate spiraled downhill there and ended up in the hospital the same day they left her in a wheelchair alone in the rec room. I saw her there on my way in and brought her back myself. They sent her to the Hosp without informing her POA then threw away her dentures.

The 2nd day of this past stay, Laurel Brook had a visit from the Dept of Health. No further admissions until they pass all issues. We discovered from an outside source they falsified schedules appear they were staffed along with a slew of other issues. Fined well over 100k at that point.

Researching subacute rehabs in our area, we discovered this despicable “care” is the norm. Medicare ratings are outdated & inaccurate. Select few have decent reviews but, impossible to get into unless you are a permanent resident at their nursing home. Why aren’t facilities required to prove their nurses are trained properly and all staff held accountable to a provide a standard protocol of care I work in radiology and we have SO much more stringent requirements of us in this ancillary field.

I rated Four stars because for the most part, from speaking with the staff and personnel there and walking through facility on Thu 8/22 I saw some good things. However, during follow-up visit on Sun 8/25, my father in-law shared complaints regarding the attention from the nurse (that particular day) with my wife and me; which we in turn, shared with staff on-site. This, four star rating to show good with room for improvement.

I had a wonderful experience touring the facility. It looked & smelled clean. Everyone seemed friendly & alert of their surroundings. I LOVED the Korean section of the building. I also admired the photos in the Korean area of the building. The receptionist had me laughing. The therapy department was nicely put together. Ms. Patti was very professional throughout the tour & during our whole conversation.

Visited an older relative. Very disappointed with the state of facility. All of the employees were nice in my experience. The food leaves much to be desired. No call button on bed which apparently needs a “work order” to be obtained. Only a comforter on bed. No bed sheet. And we were told they were very short on sheets. Although the room attending nurse was VERY nice and did get a sheet on our bed and re made the bed nicely. Why would you ever have to ask for a sheet ?

PLEASE DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! This place is absolutely horrible. I honestly don’t know how they can stay open. It’s soo dirty. My mom was in this place for less than 24 hours and we got her transferred. It’s dirty here and the staff do not care about the patients care. When you first walk in to the facility you think it’s nice than you start walking back and it’s horrible. They don’t have a lot of staff either. My heart was broken having my mom have to stay for one night. I wouldn’t even send my dogs to this place. I feel bad for the patients that are still in this place.

I had a very disappointing experience at this rehab center. The staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional, which made the entire process even more stressful. There was a noticeable lack of care and attention to the needs of the patients. Communication was almost non-existent, leaving us in the dark about important aspects of the treatment. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking compassionate and effective care for their loved ones.
