If you are visiting the islands, and love cats, the Lanai Cat Sanctuary is a must visit! I had so much fun feeding all the cats bags of treats and seeing all their cute, fuzzy little faces. The city of Lanai is pretty cool too! It's just like Colorado with all the Cook pine trees and mountain backdrop but with a small town vibe. 11/10 Awesomeness!

I came here to see the cats and it did not disappoint! When I visited there were over 800 cats wandering around the rescue. It’s clear that the rescue cares deeply about all of them and their wellbeing. They gave us treats for the cats when we walked in and all of the staff members I talked to were very friendly. Definitely a must visit!

Loved our visit here! The cats are well cared for and the staff is kind. 803 cats currently, mostly from lanai and some from the lahina fires.

Many places for the kitties to go, I was impressed that so many cats were friendly, I don’t think I had one hiss or tap, which is amazing knowing cats!

My favorite was the kitty mango tree, spend time there for sure! And please donate! The cats need it! They go through so many supplies quickly!

Well kept, clean, and polite people! The cats are well taken care of and there is no fee for entrance, just make sure to donate so the cats can continue to have such a healthy lifestyle. Amazing!

If you love cats, this is a must see attraction. The staff are dedicated to help the cats as well as Lanai. Kudos to them for their dedication to the well being of the felines.

You have to get to the island; flight from Oahu or if you in Maui, a memorable ocean crossing from Maui. It's a short trip (about 40 min).

There is no fee to enter but please make a generous donation.

This sanctuary is as incredible as you think it would be! So many kitties, such a great facility, and what a great way to spend a day! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the taxi driven by Alberta from their website. She is the nicest and kindest lady and had no issues giving us two hours at the sanctuary. The sanctuary is generous and provides free treats for you to entice the kitties and there are cat toy wands and cat brushes all over for you to engage the cats. All the cats are healthy and well fed and you can just tell they’re well loved. It was a privilege to give them love a spend a few hours with them. Please visit and please donate!

A potential itinerary from Maui: Catch 6:30am ferry, snorkel at Hulopoʻe beach for around an hour, dry off and take Alberta’s taxi to the cat sanctuary, spend two hours at sanctuary, take Alberta’s taxi through Lanai City and then to the Manele small boat harbor, take the 1pm ferry back to Maui, then do some shopping at the Maui harbor, then catch happy hour at Maui brewing company, then back to your hotel!

Lovely people that love lovely cats!!! They are very attentive and kind to them. Never been around hundreds of communal living cats, they were clean and some were greeters and others more reclusive. A must stop and donate to help keep the effort.

Wonderful sanctuary doing such good work. I’ve photographed two weddings here meow and absolutely love it! Cats have such a wonderful space with multiple different enclosures for cats of all varieties. Highly recommend visiting and donating to support ?
