I am POA for my brother-in-law who is 86 years old, with a lot of medical challengers. Robert. I was impressed with the staff's friendliness and am loving the remodeling taking place. Robert is transitioning from rehab after a hospital stay. We are planning on keeping him here for long-term nursing care and having his wife join him.

Yall should listen to the negative reviews please do NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE PLEASE IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE DO NOT SEND THEM I HAVE PERSONALLY been on the phone while they help my grandmother one lady says well I’m not your servant in here to assist you and basically snapped on my grandmother ABSOLUTELY not professional is there somewhere I can call and complain or report this place to mean it’s awful the treatment is ridiculous there’s no respect for the elderly. The way my grandmother has been talked too in there is crazy…. I wouldn’t never talk to her like that! I’ve been voice recording the calls as well of her screaming and crying in pain begging people for help as they walk by I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONE THERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEN LOOK ELSE WHERE

DON’T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! My father has been there for a week max maybe and had to be picked up by an ambulance due to negligence by the staff not to long after visiting him, he had gotten chills, fever and neck pains and had called me crying begging me to get him out of there! At this point I’m upset this place is open and operating the way it does it’s sick and depressing !! Walking through the halls smell like something died ! They don’t clean like they’re supposed to according to my fathers roommate an including my father saying this to me . They don’t take care of the patients like they’re supposed to took them an hour to come in and take my father’s temperature and 20 mins when I was visiting for them to even clean him up from having an accident! An I’ve seen prisoners eat better !!! Plz I repeat*DON’T SEND THEM HERE*!

This location treat the residents like prisoners. The food is below even what a stray dog on the street would eat. I wouldn't allow my worst enemy to stay in this facility. Director mistreats the staff and the residents, especially the people of color. They should be reported to what ever department that over see them. Lunch at the facility.

There are literally a hand full of people that actually do their job. My husband had been there since the end of July and they made him sit on a bed pan for 2+ hours didn't give him a shower for over a week several times. The nurse manager never called back and I tried many times the pt people put weights on my husband's ankles even though he wasn't cleared for that and pled miscommunication but still did without actually clarifying things. Our family had to continously complain and it never changed a thing , Steve the social worker did everything he could even after hours to try and help and the team still didn't change , the tech even bitched out my husband for complaining about not getting a shower, I would not recommend this place at all. To the steve and mrs.cheryl , thank yall for doing your best, yall deserve to be at a much better place than that with how awesome yall are. Also if you notice in the reviews they only respond to the all positives. I understand nothing is perfect, but they need alot of work it's also bad when I nurse looks at you and your husband and says yes they are keeping you so they can keep getting the money from medicade

Poorly trained staff/CNAs. Lots of elderly staff who do nothing but complain. Inefficient, lazy, dictatorial, ....CNAs.
Food is atrocious.....I order from Instacart .....
Always running out of gowns, wipes, briefs. washcloths. etc.
This place is very low level care.

My sister in law has been at Lakeside Healthcare for over two weeks. While the building is a bit shabby due to its age, the staff have been great so far! They seem to have a good number of staff. Even on a Saturday- she was taken for a shower. Usually these facilities have a lot less staff on weekends. When she was first admitted, we noticed the carpets looked bad. About a week later, they cleaned them and what a difference! She even has said that the food is pretty good. She has been in other facilities that were subpar. So this has been a good experience so far.

I met with Jennifer at VCU where my mother was. She was very professional and compassionate about helping me find the right place to send mom. She had me meet and do a tour with Candace in admissions. She was so helpful and informative. I was able to meet with the nurse manager from the unit my mom would be on and the therapy director, both were very informative. During her stay everyone was so attentive and caring. She really felt like a part of the family. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her.
