I absolutely cant explain how amazing this place is ! I took my 13 year old lab in on Saturday. I know they say the wait can be a while but it was not bad at all for us maybe an hour. Lucky saw Doctor Kerry Ryan. She was Amazing very straight to getting to a solution ( he had testicular cancer). She Explained everything clearly and gave us every option available to us depending on out comes of the situation. Answered every question we had. Very patient and understanding. They scheduled us very quickly. We left the office with the necessary medication he needed right away which was so convenient. he had had surgery to day Tuesday. It went well ( thank goodness ?) Anyone one I have came in contact with in the office that works there was absolutely kind and helpful. Their prices are so reasonable ! They are so reasonable as well and don’t waste time trying to make you do anything extra that your pet does not need. I am so grateful to have found this place. Being a walk in makes it so convenient as well. Thank you Lakes animal clinic !

Dr. Kerry is an angel. She has helped me and my family on multiple occasions and does a great job at explaining and solving any issues. I have taken my cats here several times and while there is a wait, they get good care at a good price. Dr. Kerry is also extremely sympathetic, understanding and goes the extra mile for you in your time of need. Thank you always.

I was quoted $5k for a pyometra surgery for my cat at another vet. I was told about lakes animal clinic and called for pricing since I had to drive from Chicago. They gave me a starting price and ended up paying $790. They cared for my cat so wonderful and I am so thankful for the staff and this clinic because if they didn’t exist i don’t know where my cats health would be. The surgeon was very nice and even discovered other issues she had. He provided amazing advice and my cat has been recovering amazingly. I do recommend brining something to entertain yourself as it’s a clinic so wait times are hours long, but definitely worth the wait. Thank you to the staff at lakes animal clinic! My little tortita thanks you as well!

My little dog is a rescue and she is very skittish, but she was completely calm with the Dr. He is incredibly caring and has a gentle calming demeanor. He was born to be a veterinarian! I love Lakes. We did have to wait a couple hours to be seen, but it was totally worth it.

This used to be my favorite vet to use, until recent experiences that are keeping me from ever returning. My dog has been sick for the past three months, I brought her in on several occasions for persistent vomiting and diarrhea and was given anti-diarrheal and antibiotics. These did nothing. Eventually I had to take her to an ER because she was vomiting blood, and we took her once again to Lakes for a follow up. Dr. Farrell felt around for anything in her stomach and said she felt something hard but it “could be” feces, and never checked or followed up on it after that. In addition to this she was comfortable on several occasions texting in front of me, being on her phone in general, and it felt like I was not as welcomed as other vets, I rarely, if ever felt like my concerns were addressed properly.

We took my dog to a different vet and lo and behold that mass she felt that she claimed “could be” feces and didn’t further explore, is a partial blockage. I was dismissed and not heard for two months resulting in my dog suffering for that duration of time. Thankfully we have answers and she’s getting surgery to remove the foreign object, but it was never even considered by Farrell to order an X-ray after persistent symptoms over a long period of time. The new vet even admitted she should have looked deeper into it much sooner.

In addition to this experience, I brought in my rabbit since they claim they see rabbits but wasn’t convinced upon her exam that the doctor knows anything about them. There was an exotic vet book which she had to refer to several times to see what medications were safe for my rabbit to take. Since that experience my rabbit has seen another vet, I mentioned the experience and they admitted that it was odd and advised me not to return.

I was fine with waiting for hours in the parking lot, I didn’t mind how they functioned at all, and was always patient and kind, but was still brushed off and felt like I was never fully listened to.

My mom and I on two separate occasions also heard the assistants trash talking clients in a back room with the door wide open that connects to the exam room you stand in with your pet. I think this is inexcusable and disgusting.

I agree with most that they’re affordable and never tried out their other Doctor, Dr. He, but my sister had a great experience with him. I just do not recommend taking your pet to Dr. Farrell, and won’t be returning considering this was considered an emergency and was not handled properly upon several visits.

Update: it wasn’t a ball, it was cancer. Doctor Farrell felt that tumor and said “it could be feces” and never explored further. because of her carelessness and not ordering a simple x-ray, I never got to have knowledge until it was too late. I never got to give my baby her best last days and she’s gone now. I will never forgive this vet.
