Phenomenal is just an immense understatement for the experience I had at King Neptune’s Pet World today !!!

I cannot express enough how enchanting it was to stop by here and receive the type of service and support I got from this extraordinary establishment. I want to give major kudos to this pet shop for having such pride, care and dedication to their quality and wisdom of customer service and pet care information.

Being from the south customer & hospitality are the highest level of customer satisfaction one can imagine and Daisy went above and anything I could’ve expected. It is extremely rare and heartwarming to stumble upon an establishment that gives genuinely kind and ample services these days.

Daisy was so delightful and informative about all of the shops animals/products as well as their level of intense care and grooming standards that this shop upkeeps for all of their pets. I came in at a random passing by and got way more of an experience than I ever bargained for.

This was so needed for me as my parents recently surprised me with a miniature poodle after we discovered I’m allergic to animals and needed a hypoallergenic pet that I named S’ymone 🐩 and for the 2 months I’ve had her she’s been so calm and mild mannered, although it has been lovely 🥰 I’ve always felt like she seemed too calm in a way that seemed she was lacking some level of joy or fulfillment and fortunately with Daisy 🌼 being so hands on and involved with helping me explore their store and pets, I got to learn it may have been from a lack of bonding and socialization with another pet/dog.

Daisy let me introduce S’ymone to the new place of my heart 💜 I never knew I needed, nor knew existed. Once Daisy 🌼 introduced S’ymone and I to the most precious Miniature Dachshund my eyes 👀 have ever laid eyes on!!

She was cautious to educate me on some of the healthcare needs this specific breed of dog(s) require due to their build of having short legs and long backs jumping/stairs can be a challenge for them so it is safer to carry them up and down the stairs instead of having them do it. She gave the perfect analogy of this breed by relating the toy slinky version of the dog in the Toy Story movie.

The comparison made me laugh and made me reflect on him as “Slinkie” the mini Dachshund. A few minutes after S’ymone and Slinkie bonded she was so confident and enthusiastic in a way that I have never gotten to experience with her before. It made me feel so grateful that Daisy took the time out of her evening to invest the skill and stoicism to let the two of them grow on each other and play.

I really had a hard time leaving without Slinkie tonight so I’m currently on the phone with my husband to formulate a plan to go back asap and get Mr. Slinkie so S’ymone can have his support and companionship when I’ve to go to work. Since I’m an over night therapist at a crisis center, my hours are when my puppy sleeps so she sleeps well but panics a bit during the day time when the house is empty, having Slinkie to accompany her until I get back home in the mornings would truly give S’ymone (hopefully Slinkie too) a level of fulfillment all 3+ of our lives.

I never thought about the possibility of having two miniature puppies before tonight and now I think it’s the only way my little family will ever feel whole again.

I just want to give an abundance of love and support to this pet shop and highly recommend that anyone/family that wants to be provided a quality, healthy and safe pet for their home needs to come to King Neptune’s Pet World.

This quaint and charming little pet shop has very reasonably priced merchandise and are naturally devoted to their pets and humane practices. I would be honored to come back soon for S’ymone to bring home our new family member Mr. Slinkie as this shop has stellar customer service , the most adorable pets and a versatile range of breeds to choose from.

Sadly puppy mill puppies. Please do your homework on puppy mills before buying here. No reputable breeder that was not a puppy mill would ever sell their dog to a place like this. Good breeders want to stay active with the people that buy their dogs. This will not happen here.

i made a another review around a year ago in this place. and i feel so bad for people who actually think this is a good place when it’s horrible. These “puppies” don’t come from breeders or a rescue organization. these puppies come from puppy mills. Puppy mills are sickening and a horrible place. I bought a puppy from here May 9th 2023. A Bernese Mountain Dog that ended up having a tumor on her stomach that caused a ton of vet bills. Before buying a dog PLEASE. I can’t say this enough. Look in the back of the paperwork and you will find where EVERY. SINGLE. PUPPY. COMES. FROM.

The puppies 9/10 times do not have water. While having access to food at all times for a puppy is not expected, the puppies should at least have access to CLEAN water- not full of shavings. The puppies are full of shavings themselves, getting into their eyes and noses on top of getting into their water/food. The staff is not welcoming and does not seem to care for the well being of the animals. Bare minimum care is given so that staff gets their job duties done and uneducated people can purchase their puppies. The staff sprays air freshener right over the plastic boxes the puppies are in. On multiple occasions there have been clearly ill puppies. Yet again another "business" selling overpriced, sick, dirty, backyard bred puppies. Please anyone who is considering getting a puppy from here know that on top of the thousands of dollars you will be charged for your puppy, you will have LOTS of vet bills to come with that. I am not some animal rescue enthusiast, I have purchased 2 of my dogs from breeders while the other 2 are from shelters- so I am not here to preach to adopt instead. My point is rather: SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ON A WELL BRED, WELL CARED FOR PUPPY. Do not let the convenience of location for us locals get you or those who are parents cave in to your children wanting to be able to bring home the cute puppy they got to pet at the store. You are not rescuing a dog by purchasing from this store. Instead you are supporting this sad business. The puppies go lower and lower in price until someone will buy them- the staff is not worried about the home the puppy goes to, just that it is sold so that they could get more puppies in to hopefully sell at full price. I hope the staff can be educated themselves on the health of the dogs they are carrying and be more welcoming to those coming in. Anyone willing to travel to come here PLEASE save your time. If you have the money to spend here on an overpriced puppy please save your money. Be patient and look for a responsible breeder, search PetFinder, or visit local shelters instead. I hope that one day this business can replace their backyard bred puppies with ones pulled from rescues instead.

I love king Neptune's! My kids and I would go in there weekly to visit and pet the puppies until one day we fell in love with one! Hes 2 now and literally the sweetest thing ever! 4lbs of pure snuggle! We had a great experience here and still go back to see new puppies!

I got both of my Bassets from King Neptunes pet world my one Bassett is now 13 years old and my other Bassett is six years old. They’ve both been very healthy if I ever get another dog again which I probably will I would go back to King Neptune

Went in to look at the puppies on a whim. I was disgusted by what I saw. Long haired puppies in pens with wood shavings which of course were tangled in their hair and in their eyelashes. One poor pup was struggling to poop but instead it was only blood. Girl at the desk was sweet but said some nonsense about the change from mother’s milk to solid food. That pup was weeks and weeks passed mothers milk. Some of the puppies were extremely lethargic while others were just begging for attention and to get out of those pens. Shameful and heartbreaking. I wish I had the money to have bought all of them just to get them out of there. 🙁

This pet store that clearly needs to have an investigation. It's King Neptune's Pet World in Shorewood IL. The puppies are listed as "rescues" but then the owner hikes up the prices to thousands to sell them. Aside from this the living conditions for these pups are awful. They are kept, 2 to 3 puppies in a small square with plastic walls and an open top much like what you would see a ferret in. As I walked in today some squares had water and food and some did not. The containers that did have water, the water was COVERED with hamster or guinea pig bedding shavings because that's what it puts in all the containers as "bedding" which the puppies pee and poop in and then are forced to lay on top of the waste. One poor puppy had a droopy bottom eyelid that was swollen which also had bedding shavings in it which was clearly irritated the puppy kept trying to rub his paw on his eye. How is this place still OPEN?!?
