Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is a special place. I have had several family members stay there for both short term rehab and long term care as well. The staff treats you like family. my loved ones were always taken care of exceptionally well. The facility is always clean. Really can't relay enough how excellent and caring the staff is. They have treated my mother, grandmother & aunt as though they were their own loved ones. I would recommend the facility to anyone who needs short term or long term care for their family.

Presently, my 85 year old mother is at Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home and I can’t say anything negative. The staff is great, the Doctors are awesome and the facility is clean. I have a peace of mind after I leave seeing my mom that she gets the care she needs. Thank you all for making this difficult situation a-little bit better.

Our experience with Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home has been truly exceptional. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, and the level of care provided by the nursing team and therapist is remarkable. Wherever my father is in the nursing home, someone always takes the time to check in on him, ensuring his well-being and addressing any needs he may have. The attentiveness and kindness of the staff have made a significant and positive impact on my father's experience. The care provided is truly excellent, and it's evident that the staff goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort and well-being of the residents. My father has expressed his genuine satisfaction and appreciation for the care he receives at Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home. We are grateful for the exceptional level of care and support provided to our loved one.

I'm not one to write reviews about places I go ,but seeing and experiencing what I did at this nursing home Merritt's it.. My mother was admitted for rehab after having surgery to recuperate. First night there I went looking for a nurse and the halls were empty,no one was around. It felt like a scene straight out of the godfather I tried to get information from the dr but was told there is no Dr available on weekends and I would have to talk to a nurse supervisor,I was told it would have to wait till monday. Unacceptable. If you have a family member there you need to advocate for them ask questions insist on having them answered. There is a total breakdown when it comes to communication between the family and medical team. The CnA's who take care of patients are overworked understaffed Need to handle pts 16 to 1 . At one point my mother was left in her own waste for over an hour. Her roommate went looking for help and no one came. As a result she She also developed a pressure sore nothing big thank god but it developed due to lack of movement, at discharge I noticed they said it was caused by excoriation, which is a skin picking disorder, I realized that they use this term so they dont get blamed for the sores. Cnas You have to get to know and then maybe they will be a bit more attentive. You need to be present constantly around so they know someone is looking out for there loved one. The only saving grace is the physical therapists who try their hardest to get pts back to a level ofindependance. .is it all nursing homes I dont know but I just needed to say my peace and let the people reading this know that this is an honest review not a bashing fest . So please make an informed decision. If needed would I come back?not likely.
