The Huntington Hills health facility I found to be very clean to begin with and very welcoming. I was able to visit with my brother for about an hour during which time he got his dinner and the server was very pleasant. Very warm , very
Friendly when I asked her for my tray with my food.

The security is also at a very high level. I had to use the bathroom when I got there and the gentleman at the desk made sure that I came back to fill in my information as today was my first visit to your Facility.
Overall, it's a facility that I would use if I needed to!

Huntington hills is a wonderful rehab facility. When you walk in you feel so welcomed by the staff, ambience and delicous flavored water of the day! Everyone is so kind you feel like their family. I have been here for two weeks and the care is truly amazing. You can see from other patients how they look clean, content and relaxed which is a reflection of the wonderful care provided at Huntington hills.

How to describe my mother in laws experience? HORRIFIC 2 WEEKS. She is wheelchair bound/can’t walk.
She experienced the following:
• Suspicions of nurses adding bad stuff to food/drink or the wrong pills to keep her feeling worse/sick.
• Became weak & sick over time with fever, more pain, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain.
• Delayed Assistance. Even if you beg them you’d be lucky if anyone comes to your cry for help. They took HOURS to go help her. She would yell for assistance. I witnessed workers ignore the help alert light. It was so bad I took what she needed from their supply closet & did it myself. What if she was alone & fell down & couldn’t get up -_- ?
• The facility barely answers the phone & when they do they can come off as rude & unprofessional. One example, I had called in to ask how my MIL was doing & the SUPERVISOR responded with, “why?” … LOL WHAT! Instead of “Sure of course!”
• Most nurses carried themselves very poorly like they hated being there.
• They left my MIL in her own poop in bed for SIX HOURS. It took me getting there for them to clean her up. Keep in mind she had poop all over her surgical wound.
• In the same situation to the bullet point above, 2 nurses aggressively handled her when they changed her clothes/cleaned her up.
• Roughly pulled & squeezed her clothes & pressed down really hard on her thigh with hand so she wouldn’t say anything. I was in the room & wished I had supervised. They closed the curtains on me for privacy. If I knew, idk how my anger would have handled it.
• The faces & behavior of those 2 nurses were careless, cruel, & mean to her but also to me.
• In the door next to her there was this senior in a wheelchair begging for help… they were very ignored. I witnessed them come out of their room on 2 different days to try to get a worker’s attention. The first time they were in the door way. Second time they came all the way out. I took 2 videos of that. It really broke my heart… I wish I had talked to them.

Wish I could give this place negative star reviews. NEGATIVE 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Btw after 2 days of getting her out she was back to her old self instead of carrying herself like a zombie. It was so nice to see her smile & laugh again. I felt like a hero getting her out. How can I ever trust a rehab/nursing home ever again?

I am in rehab at Huntington hills. I was here 3 years ago and it was so nice to see the same friendly staff taking care of me. It is truly a wonderful place. First and foremost the nursing care is excellent. The food is very good which is now much improved since I was last here. All the staff is wonderful and want to acknowledge Mercedes the CNA and Rick from therapy who always go above and beyond.

We had a list of places and visited them all before choosing Huntington Hills. First appearance was important of course. This place has that at home feeling. The facility, resident rooms, and the entire staff are wonderful. They recently starting using a new vendor for food. I have to say, my moms plate is always empty, which wasn't the case before. The food is good. Very important! It's been over two years and we are still very pleased and fortunate we selected Huntington Hills Senior Living.

I have been in rehab at Huntington hills and is truly an outstanding facility for rehab and recovering in a peaceful environment that is beautiful and clean with the most helpful, friendly and genuinely caring staff. All the staff is wonderful and want to especially recognize my nurse Danielle who always goes above and beyond! Thank you Huntington hills for providing such wonderful care.

I have been in 6 rehab facilities from a knee replacement to back and neck surgery and Huntington Hills is by far the worst facility of them all. My understanding HH was a well respected rehab center until it was bought out some 3 years ago.
The reason you come to a rehab center is to recover and go home asap. At HH their sole objective is to keep you there so you can become part of the fixture.
The physical therapy is compatible to that conveyor belt. The therapist are grossly understaffed making a patient to therapist quota approximately eight patients to one therapist. The therapist are overwhelmed and there only doing the basic squeezing the ball and the three minute walk.

After Physical Therapy it really goes downhill. The food is barely eatable as those who can afford it their family will bring it to their loved ones. They do however have a piano playing three times a week.
Now for the staff ie owner doctors nurses and aides.
The new owner sole purpose is financial. Using the reputation of the previous owner he has developed an aura of intimidation. One time I requested a change of rooms as my new roommate had a life support system and was coughing up a storm. Eventually I was quarantined for the flu. When I asked for the new room I was escorted to the C3facilty. Patiently they took me back and I self imposed myself to sleep outside the room in a chair that I had to wait till the morning staff came on board. I was employed in law enforcement and have seen this “recliner used prison inmates.

As far as the doctors, nurses and and aides are concerned since I are my meals outside my room t formed the opinion that the staff was incompetent arrogant and incompetent. Being in law enforcement I noticed a hint of corruption. I can now however compare HH to that of the Amityville rehab facility which was investigated by the NYS attorney general’s office
I can go on with other nightmarish stories but I think I’ve expressed my opinion of Huntington Hills rehab and nursing home facility
RECOMMEND HUNTINGTON HILLS REHAB FACILITY. I THINK NOT
