I owe the life of my pup to Horizon. We came running into the lobby with my dog coughing up blood and they handled everything like true professionals and saved his life. Outside of dramatic TV shows, I have never seen a hospital setting go from silence to full emergency mode in such a short amount of time… I think that might say a lot more about our human facilities than anything else.. but I digress.

I genuinely believe that, if not for the fast and professional actions taken by the super star veterinarians at Horizon, I would not have my wonderful little road dog with me today. I can’t sing their praises enough.

It wasn’t just the fact that they burst into action and began doing their jobs, but you could see the concern, determination, and desire to help my little guy. These folks truly care about the well being of your pet. If you have a pet emergency, I firmly believe that this is your best shot in the area.

Jelly was 16 yrs old - I brought her in after we realized we could not wait for laps of love and she was deteriorating quickly; it was time. As soon as I walked through the door, the staff rushed to me to help me carry her, comfort me, get Jelly comfortable. She passed quickly and painlessly with her head in my hands. Everyone there was so considerate and compassionate. Even though I had never brought her there in the past, they took time to make sure our arrangements were made and wrapped her in a blanket to I could spend some time after she passed. They wrote a card with many handwritten statements of support - Horizon staff really amazed me with their kindness. Thank you all.

My 6 year old pug Daisy was bitten by a baby rattler twice in the face and once in the paw several days ago. I called ahead as I raced down the freeway and they met me in the lobby -awaiting her arrival.
At that time, she was limp and taking her last breaths. She was promptly resuscitated, given antivenom , IV fluids and was observed for complications for about 25 hours. Thanks to the incredible and swift care provided by some of the most caring people I have ever met - SHE SURVIVED!!!!!
Not only did they provide excellent care of Daisy, they showed compassion and concern for me as her mom/owner as I was falling apart having witnessed her agony.
All three vets that treated her - Dr's Anderson, Krantz, and Mallon were communicative (calling with updates on her condition), compassionate and skilled experts in emergency/critical care. Her nurse Angel on the overnight was outstanding and caring as was Victoria in the reception area.
I am so grateful to everyone at Horizon - I have my little girl back who continues to improve each day. I've had many veterinary emergencies both dogs and horses. My experience with emergency care at Horizon was top notch with the best possible outcome.

Dr. Herrera and everyone that took care of our dog these past couple months were extremely kind, responsive, and passionate. Their team did everything they could to determine the cause of our dog’s sickness (unfortunately ended up as cancer) and make her more comfortable in order give us extra time together despite her diagnosis. Initially, I was considering finding a different internal medicine specialist after reading some of the reviews about Horizon, but then my vet recommended them. She said they have five fantastic specialists and that she had taken her own dog to see them when she couldn't diagnose what was wrong with him herself. I'm so glad I followed her advice.
Dr Ortega is excellent! She is very knowledgeable and explained all the possible diagnosis and treatment options for my cat. She made us aware of the costs and didn't just recommend tests like they cost only a few dollars. She explained the pros and cons of each one so that we could make informed decisions.
She did not make us feel rushed at all and she answered all of my many many questions. She called personally with the results of his blood test and went over the treatment plan for FIV and the protocol for weaning him off of steroids in detail, which was followed up via email.
Dr Ortega reminded me of my own vet who genuinely cares for her patients as she seemed to be the same way.
I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my cats to this facility and especially Dr Ortega.
The staff were all very nice too and efficient.

The front staff was very kind and friendly. The employee who came out to take Lulu to the back was also kind and informative. Dr.Murphy was beyond friendly and made sure I was 100% kept in the loop about Lulus condition. Only down side is that we did have to wait several hours before being able to leave but it’s understandable since ciritical patients are seen first and this was told to me before arrival. Will definitely return if needed (hopefully not though!) thank you!

My dog Nico had an intestinal obstruction and was transferred to Horizon from a non-24 hour emergency vet. We were seen quickly despite arriving late in the evening, and the staff were compassionate and thorough in explaining his prognosis and our options for his treatment.

When he ended up needing emergency surgery, we received updates on how he was doing both before and after the procedure, as well as both days that he was kept after for observation and post-op care. The staff at the desk, the techs, and the vets were all very helpful and caring, and took the time to answer our questions in person and over the phone.

While I hope we won't need their services again, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return to Horizon for emergency vet care. Thank you all for taking such good care of Nico!! We are eternally grateful.

I would highly recommend Horizon for anyone experiencing an emergency with their pet or looking for a skilled internal medicine specialist. My treasured dog Maya was taken care of with such care and compassion throughout her stay. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and get surgery arranged at a nearby facility. Dr. Herrera was wonderful. I wish I could name everyone that helped with her case, but I would probably go over the word count on google reviews. I am forever grateful!

In terms of cost, they are reasonably priced for an ER/specialty center (which is always going to cost more than a general practice clinic). Take it from me though, start preparing for your pet to have an emergency at some point in their life - whether that's a dedicated savings account or pet insurance. You will be so glad you have it when the need arises.
